I overslept once and walked I to work an hour late and the first thing my boss said was "what book were you reading?" 😆
😂
Yeess
Ashley Malone lies
That’s my mom when I get all grumpy from lack of sleep 😂
What book were you reading.
6:14 Please, which booklover has a bookmark? Every booklover i know uses everything as a bookmark except for a bookmark.
HaH true. I keep using rulers and pencils for bookmarks and it drives my mom crazy
I use tissues
I once used my bus card and I lost it haha
I am a huge bookworm and i got a really nice bookmark (My weekend is booked) so i use it all the time
-cough cough- I doggy ear mine...
Why do they give books the movie covers, but not DVDs the book covers?

“50 things that I wanna get done. Do I get any of those things done? Noo” - I relate so much it hurts 😂
My wallet thanks the friends that hold me back. My heart, however, does not.
Reading definitely takes precedence over sleep. Fortunately, goblins don't need sleep. Goblins are awesome.
ESPECIALLY BOOK GOBLINS😍😍😍 LOVE YOU, BOOK GOBLIN 😋😋
Thanks HanaAteAllTheBooks, I love me too.
Lol!! You are Hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂😂
You are so right book goblin
A rose in Winter, A bloom in Frost. I'm usually right, yet always lost.
New drinking game: take a shot every time he says book

*bRuH iM aLrEaDy dED oK*
Omg I was just about to comment that!! 😂😂
Were book nerds, we would read a book every time he says book😂😂😂
I agree on the book lover vs Satan thing but I’ve seen WAY TOO MANY LIBRARY BOOKS DEFILED BY DOG EARING. Yes, it’s fine if it’s someone’s personal book, but I don’t appreciate when people do that to books they do not own.
When I borrowed the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before series, one of them had a chunk of page missing. Luckily it didn’t take off any words, but it was close.
Yes!! I remember I borrowed a book that was completely wrinkled from water damage and had food and drink stains and creases all over it! I'd never been so sad while reading a happy book!
I NEVER dog ear library books, however all of my favorite books are LITTERED with dog ears to mark my favorite pages.
Murder by Tomes I had that too with the first page of a book and it was missing quite a few words but I’d read it like a hundred times so I was able to fill in the blanks
I can't stand dog ears, they kill me inside
Dog-earing is fine as long as you don't do it to a library book (I speak from personal experience)
Me in a bookstore
Mum: come on we gotta go
Me: *reading the blurb of a book* yup, hold on
Mum: are you done?
Me: *is reading the blurb of a another book* one sec........ok I’m done
Mum: do you wanna get anything?
Me: no (what? I need to read the hundreds of books I have but haven’t got to reading yet)
Mum: *stares at me like a weirdo*
Bahaha so relatable
Mood
Lol that’s so me
Book with the cover of the bad film....*cough* city of bones *cough* I would mention Percy Jackson but I don’t believe any of us have time for that rant 😂😂😂
Same.
Ikr! 😂 hi Katie! My name is also Katie!
I know, I saw that!😄😄
*high five
Katie N. Yea! *high fives back
😄
Amen
1:37 whenever I read Rick Riordan's books I always think it's more story at the end, it never is, it's always a glossary 😂
I KNOW RIGHT!!!?
I was literally about to comment that 😂
YES! Its so annoying!
I was just reading the death cure and there were 3 book previews in the back
The pain.
In my class we are reading a book SO slowly shhh I may have read the book 4 times in the time we read one chapter and there are kid complaining about how fast we are reading and hey I won’t judge but it is a HONOR classs
Lunarcat Lord07 my mood tbh
Lunarcat Lord07 well I mean I’m in advanced classes and I read super slow so I get how that kid feels 😂.
I feel this but I get why sometimes some people have reading rates slower then me. I just don’t read along with the class during read aloud I read in my head on my own.
This happened to me all the time in school, especially in 10th grade. Once I finished the story while we were still reading in class (I think it was the Scarlet Letter), so I just put the book aside and started my writing assignment. I finished it before the day was over so I was able to go home and read more.
I feel this in 5th grade my teacher decided to be my favorite and had my class read percy Jackson (I had loved percy Jackson so I was happy I would be able to talk about it more in class) so I decided to reread the whole series the class was maybe 5 chapters in and I finished tlo like really!
THAT BOOK RANT THOUGH
I’M SO GLAD YOU RANTED
TOTALLY HERE FOR IT
I STAN
but seriously though, just because you do a certain thing with your book, doesn’t make you any less of a reader. being a reader, (gasp) just entails READING BOOKS. nothing more, nothing less.
Your editing has gotten so much better! About two or three years ago I watched your videos because I loved you but I got bored very easily. Your editing and commentary was awesome in this video and its clear how hard you're working! Love you :)
I actually realized this while reading crown of midnight but i understood the title of heir of fire before reading it
I love when the title of the book only starts making sense while you're reading, it's like an inside joke only the readers get. I think my favorite is ''The Fault in our Stars'' because it's not only an inside joke but also a Shakespeare reference.
Oh and about movie covers...I usually hate them with a passion, but for some reason I love the movie cover of ''Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief'' that I have, even though I hate the movie. But the cover is kinda cool so yeah
Carla Jaeger I almost wrote TFIOS too lol and about the movie covers on books, tbh for me it doesn’t even matter if the movie was bad or good. If the original cover was beautiful, I get super annoyed when they slap on the movie cover. Like I loved the movie version of To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before (maybe because I haven’t gotten around to reading the book yet, idk) but when I went to go buy the book, I kept finding copies with the movie cover when all I wanted was the original cover.
My favourite has to be The Midnight Star by Marie Lu. And The Young Elites. Gods know how much I cried over that trilogy...
😂😂I hate talking on the phone too Jesse! I always sound really stupid and then cringe to myself. I also love that you talked about the book "abuse" shaming. I personally don't dog ear because I have millions of book marks, but have recently been highlighting and writing to try and get more out of my read. I don't think it should be frowned upon if it is your own personal copy. Also, I love your videos!
"sometimes I want to slap characters with their own book" squad:
zara dearborn
Bella swan
Reading Queen of Air and Darkness now, so yeah, can relate to that first one
When I finished the Uglies Trilogy (before it became a quartet), and the final word of each book was the title of the next one, and Specials ended with the word “ugly.” It just felt so satisfying and full circle!
Like the setup the thumbnail is so cool
3rd meme (1:30). Ummm, Rick Riordan anyone. This is literally all of his books. 7:05 This reminds me of the Percy Jackson books/movies.
Anna C. YASSSSSSS THO!!!
"sometimes I wanna slap the characters with their own book" me while reading Fallen by Lauren Kate

Those who don’t highlight or write in their books are actually missing out. What’s more satisfying than highlighting/marking your favourite dialogues, quotes, moments, and writing your thoughts, reaction, or anything really, on the pages so you’ll know what your opinions on that book when you reread it again, especially when you’re older.
Sooo true!! You have those people who are so proud that they've kept their books pristine, clean, and crisp but to me it's it's not a book that is "well-lived" (Idk how to put it) and you it's sad when you don't capture thoughts and write them..
Keren ikr :) Mortimer Adler actually wrote something about it.
“There are three kinds of book owners. The first has all the standard sets and best-sellers-unread, untouched. (This deluded individual owns wood-pulp and ink, not books.) The second has a great many books-a few of them read through, most of them dipped into, but all of them as clean and shiny as the day they were bought. (This person would probably like to make books his own, but is restrained by a false respect for their physical appearance.) The third has a few books or many-every one of them dog-eared and dilapidated, shaken and loosened by continual use, marked and scribbled in from front to back. (This man owns books.)”
shtthfckp So true.. I really like that quote!
But I'd get a journal to write in because I'd write too much too often and my book won't be pretty anymore :'(
This is a great thing when reading ebooks, because it has those features you can use!
READERS UNITE..... and thanks Jesse I'm now obsessed with tapestries so thanks dude
Stiles Herondale omg same!!!!
Stiles Herondale feeling like a modern day castle
UKnowULoveMe yep especially since I have a stone wall in my room
Herondale? Oh, wow, someone likes Cassie's books! Me too. I'm currently reading Lord of Shadows and it's *amazing* !!!!!!! I've heard someone dies though and I'ma be upset!😕
@@rumple7232 have tissues, have a lotta tissues
God, your room aesthetic is so good
I agree with the stopping of the book shamers EXCEPT as someone who's used the public library their whole life and volunteered there, dog ear-ing can ruin pages! 😭😭😭😭 I've seen pages with a huge triangle literally completely GONE from a page including the text, basically rendering it useless! The page was over-worn from that fold line and would tear really easily or just fall out. Book Tragedies...😭😭😭
I love the gray aesthetic of your room😍💕
Turtles all the way down. I had literally no idea what the title meant until they explain towards the end.
I actually sang with you at the High-School musical song!
Me:*reads so I dont have to socialize*
Book: "if you want to take me home, you have to buy me from the nice lady at the counter."
Jesse, thanks for being you bro. Just so you know what you do matters and here I am watching this video and loving it with a smile across my face!
Ps that background, lighting, and editing though🤩🤩🤩🤓🤓🤓
Turtles all the way down.
Moonchild 8 exactly what i thought of
I was going to say this!
Yes!
#DownWithBookShamers2018!!!
You're really one of my favourite persons... my reader brother!😄
I personally fold the corners of the pages of my books all the time. I love reading them back and seeing all the dog eared pages and knowing that I have flicked through these pages before. It makes my books feel more loved, I think, if they're well-read and not just shiny and new.
I was so in tears when after reading ME BEFORE YOU I interpreted what the title meant. At first when I started the book I was like why is the title me before you shouldn't it be you before me as it is always said in romance novels but after I finished the book I related the title to the ending I wanted to die in a dark corner
The thinng about dog-earing books for me is: I don't like it at all, so if it happens by accident I'm freaking out but I don't care about what other people do tbh. I used to highlight passages in my books and even though I don't do it anymore, I don't care if other people like it. What I noticed with my friends is that they hate on people that break the spine of books (especially paperbacks) and though it hurts me, seeing other people folding their books front to back while reading (I hope you understand what I'm saying), sometimes you just can't help it because the spines are simply too thin and will break even though you're super careful with them, and I still get hate for that like I did it on purpose and this sucks.
Doing all this stuff with books you borrowed from other people is shitty, but doing this with your OWN books is your decision!

My friends insist that I will be the person to bring a book to prom.
They might not be wrong.....
My school forbid us from bringing anything into school dances (they wanted to make sure we bought their snacks instead of bringing out own).
So we had to empty our pockets.
I stuck my book between my undershirt and my shirt and put a sweatshirt on top.
Dances don’t have the best lighting though....
I literally just spent all night starting and finishing Carry On, and now I'm just running on pure Snowbaz energy
Snowbaz owns my soul. Snowbaz will always own my soul.
“DOWN WITH BOOK SHAMERS 2018.”
🙌🏼 🙌🏼 🙌🏼
That moment of realization when the meaning behind the title of a book clicks and it all makes sense is so magical. It happens to me with almost every book and it’s one of my favorite things about reading! ❤️
'I wouldn't be drowning in books' SAME! Love you
"Jessethereader is my Pinterest name"
Me: damn, I'm always to stupid to find users on Pinterest
"Link in the description"
Me:Yay!
*looks in the description *
Me: Damn I do have to try finding him myself...
You know what's worse than book with movie covers, the fact that even when you bought them in Kindle with the original cover, they will change it no matter what!
I want my Wonder cover back :(
I feel like most John Green books fit for that last meme. His titles usually don't seem to be much more that pretty words, but when you actually read the book all the pieces fall together (The Fault In Our Stars, Turtles All The Way Down, Paper Towns, etc.)
This was so much fun 😂
And I hate phone calls too! I’m SO awkward while talking on the phone 😂😂
Yaaaaaay more Jesse videos I like all of these videos
your energy is really contagious!
You are honestly HILARIOUS! I have loved books my whole life and I 100% love your reactions to these memes and I had similar reactions to some of them!
I just dropped everything when you started singing hsm songs and started singing with you 😂
Early.. again!! Love your videos, they are so funny! Also these memes are so relatable.
Red Queen (the whole series) is one of the books that made sense about the title in middle of the book
Omg I discovered this channel and it was one of the best things that happened in my life. Thank you, Jesse, for everything! Most of my friends don’t understand my life for books 😂
I love your videos! I always watch them when I need a reason to smile📚
Ps: I'm from Germany
1:32 Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus series in one meme
Another great video Jesse! Your videos are always so fun and hilarious yet relatable, thanks for being one of the awesomest UA-camrs out there!!
love any video with memes, especially one from jesse!
Do more of these videos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
XD I love Jesse rants.
2:35 7:04
Always great to hear from Jesse
OMG WE'VE BEEN BLESSED WITH A PART TWO
Gemina when they started explaining the gemina particle
The Fault In Our Stars ... I didn’t really get the title and then when I got to a certain part I was like... ohhhhhhhhh
M G I agree. It’s really out of context until you get to that part of the book
I always felt attacked for dog-earing my books or underlining passages. But I don't want to stop. I always do it when I'm reading and find this sentence that just hits me for some reason or that I find so well written that I want to save it. When I finish the book I write down all the quotes/passages in a notebook that has become a collection of beautiful sentences. Whenever I need inspiration I can take the notebook, open it randomly and find those inspirational words
i love these videos! theres always more content needed on booktube
Is that Red Queen in the background because 💛😍❤️
Jessy i really love ur videos n you n ur humour. The kinda youtuber u r, I also want to become . I would b very glad if u could reply .Love from INDIA
I think this is the video I loved most out of all your videos, Jesse.
booktube videos have a very homey feeling. Especially yours. you know its a good day when you have time to just sit on the couch and watch booktube videos for a while.
Dog ear the pages of my book fine I am a bit mad But one time a let someone borrow my book and I saw them fold the book so that the covers met behind the book folded in half I never let them borrow my book again
Lunarcat Lord07 omg. I would actually never talk to that person again
I would have slapped them with that book and make them buy me a new copy.
I see people doing that and I literally can’t imagine doing that to one of my own books. I don’t even understand what the point is. How do you read the bent page on the left ? And doesn’t it only work on skinny books ?
For example, the *PeRcY JacKSoN* movies
Caitlyn Clark uhh what? What movies? There are no movies. Oh, wait, do you mean the perry Johnson movies? Yeah, we don’t talk about those.
Loved this video!! So relatable! I was just reading An Ember in the Ashes and got to the part that reveals the meaning of the title
Your videos are really awesome, you always make me laugh and I really appreciate that. :)
Keeper of the Lost Cities: Lodestar; Nightfall; Exile; Neverseen; Everblaze
I love that series!
I love your name... Lol
Patty who is in my family gets me a barnes and noble gift card for Christmas and my birthday every year and I get to go
You’re so relatable! I love it 😆💕
this was so fun i love your videos
0:52 was sooooooo relatable
2:45 oml me
You're about to reach 300K! GO JESSE
I love how much Content he's making!!
I love ur videos so so much ugh 😭❤️❤️
Great reactions as always!!!
Loved this video, I laughed a lot especially at the ones about staying up reading all night and "Books or me" xD I understood the title of The Passage close to the end of the book x)
I love these videos!
Honestly,I'm always here for the rants ^-^
Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone. That book finally had a title that made sense about Midway through the book
Yessss, I needed another one of these
omg the second one is so frigging true!! I showed it to my friends and they where like. yep. this is you.
THIS IS EVERYTHING I DIDNT KNOW I NEEDED
Honestly all three of the The Darkest Minds books play with the name. Especially in In The Afterlight when Ruby says:
“Afterlight, it’s a sky that wants you to guess if the sun is about rise or set.”
That’s the line that stood out to me:)
"Every room I enter, has a book in it, bc I bring the books with me." I love that quote
**Notices coffee cup on top of the book pile** **Gets really upset even though the cup is probably empty**
This. . . This video was BEAUTIFUL, Jesse. *Tear
Yay! Book memes always make me happy. I constantly scroll for book memes....
I enjoy watching you rant so much.
"A Walk to Remember"! Aaahhhh! So many feels.
Omg, Jesse, I love you so much 😂 your so funny and I relate to you on a bookish level! I loved when we figured out clockwork angles title, I love those books with a passion
Bro you are way too relatable. This is dangerous for me.
“Sometimes I want to slap some of the characters with their own book”
*Instantly thinks about Mare (from “Red Queen”)😒*
THIS. IS. EVERYTHINGGG!!
I've read a lot of books where the title began to make sense halfway through, but the most memorable one for me was To Kill a Mockingbird
