@@dk4569 Yeah the first one has Mikael on a few parts, one of which is an absolutely fucking insane growl he does (1:10 on Crimson Pt. 7 if you're listening to the version where it's cut up in 8 tracks) The only time I've heard him outdo this was on Katatonia's Brave from Brave Murder Day where he does like a 20 second growl. For my money he was the greatest vocalist in all of metal during that prime
this is the best fucking one, right here. a healthy and entirely palateable mix of melodeath, traditional death, techy stuff, slammy stuff, AND the sort of things that make people dismiss metal as a whole as "just noise." definitely gonna check out aposepsy and jenovavirus in the future. thumbs + comment for algo, as well. :)
Pretty good selection of albums. Some of the later ones aren't really my taste but some were top tier like Edge of Sanity's Crimson and Gorguts's Obscura. Good job
Y'know, when I think my homemade amateur mixings for my own music sucks, I go check out obscure brutal death metal/grind/slam bands to find some comfort and to realize I'm not so bad

Also the abysmal production most of the time isn't the case, most slam bands are well produced in fact, the super over the top bad production like you see in a lot of these vids are from bands that no one actually listens too. And for Devourment it makes it a billion times heavier.
Bad ? A meme ? Lol. There's a ton of good slam bands, just avoid generic boring bands like Epicardiectomy of Cephalotripsy 7 H.Target, Devourment, Blunt Force Trauma, Trichomoniasis, The Dark Prison Massacre, Dehumanizing Itatrain Worship... all great Slam Death.
I didn't expect Ulcerate to be here, but I am more than happy to see them. If someone is looking for more tech death metal, Ulcerate is even more than you wish, trust me.

Edge of Sanity's Crimson is God Tier. Same with Crimson II. tbh I like II a tiny bit more than the first one, the end of Crimson II is one of the best things I've ever heard, but both of them are masterpieces. Portal is underrated as well. It's actually the band that got me into Death Metal.
