On the ranni point, I understand how confusing I meant be sounding in that part, my point was, I highly doubt fromsoftware will use her as the ice great rune holder, due to her story kind of having its ending, saying that we have never actually seen her great rune, so I guess anything is possible!

Great video! One of your best so far. The idea that the tarnished may bring about an eclipse is extremely intriguing. Considering how much fromsoft likes to pull completely new ideas/concepts into their DLCs, concepts we don’t see in the main game, makes for some very interesting theories. Can’t wait until June!

Ice Fire? Isn't that just a reference to Song of Ice and Fire?
I had that thought as well but I didn’t want to jump to that conclusion, though saying that it does seem likely; alternatively maybe it’s talking about some primordial ice and fire?

The shadow tree is just overshadowed by the golden tree. Hiding all that’s wrong with the golden order or golden tree. It’s in the shadows of the golden tree. The golden tree is kinda like a light or a sun… ever light has a shadow. It’s also a mimic veil in a since, when you look at the erdtree it has the same streams of light that the mimic veil drops over the player to. Disguise there self. It’s more seeable when it burns. So in since yes the golden tree is an illusion used to overshadow the shadow tree…

I believe this depicts Marika's involvement with the past, possibly starting with Marika becoming the Elden Ring's Vessel due to Dagaz and Othala. Next we see Tiwaz and Sowilo, who I associated with the battles against the Gloam Eyed Queen/Fire Giants and the success that ensued, Tiwaz can be see as referring to Marika, or referring to the Warriors she led. Then we see Algiz, Perthro, Ihwaz, and Berkano, which seems to be depicting the Erdtree coming to be now that it's threats have been removed (ie: Destined Death sealed and Flames of Ruins confined), which lines up with what we're told in game about the Erdtree's arrival (Smithing Stone 8).
Jera then refers to the Age of Erdtree, a "year"/age, a cycle (First Church of Marika Echoes). Nauthiz, Isa ,Raidho, and Hagalaz seems to be depicting the Wars with Stormviel and Raya Lucaria, things Marika had to do despite possibly not wanting to, hence Force of Growth from Nauthiz and Harsh Reality from Isa. Wunjo, Gebo, and Kenaz seems to be depicting Marika beginning to question her faith, and hopes to increase her faith by learning more about the what is truly happening (Minor Erdtree Church Echoes), presumably she is acting on faith of the Greater Will's Will before this, Gebo seems to be tying this to when a "Sacred Union" takes place, presumably Radagon and Rennala's Union. We then see Ansuz, Thurisaz and Uruz, Right after Marika is said to be searching for the truth, we're shown she begins resisting, rebelling, and betraying the Greater Will (ie: Sending Godfrey away to later return him and his warriors, possible involvement in the Night of Black Knives, Shattering of the Elden Ring), Uruz seems to be an indication of what possibly made Marika turn against the Greater Will, something being done with Life force/Primal Power that didn't sit right with Marika. Lastly, Fehu, Ehwaz, Mannaz, andLaguz seems to be when Marika returns Grace back to the tarnished in hopes of freeing the Lands Between, Fehu depicting Grace being transferred back, Ehwaz and Mannaz depicting her trust in the Tarnished, and Laguz being what is transferred back, Grace originally being Life Energy, the Origins of Life.
Additional things to note, this set of runes seems to be repeated 4 times on the Royal Knight Helm, even the ineligible runes. The Left Side of the Helm has 4 distinct differences from the Right Side though, it seems to be a different view of certain events, specifically Dagaz, Ansuz, Thurisaz, and Uruz. These Runes are shown inverse/upside down, being depicted as Merkstaves, Where the Right side depicts a Change, in this case a new beginning through Dagaz, the Left side depicts Completion and Endings through Merkstave Dagaz. Where Ansuz depicts Marika learning truth, the Left Side depicts delusion, deception through Merkstave Ansuz. Thurisaz depicts the Betrayal of Marika on the Right Side, on the Left Side it depicts evil and hate. Lastly, Uruz shows Life Force, Primal Power on the Right Side, but the Merkstave of Uruz on the Left Side shows Violence, Inconsistency, Ignorance. I believe this might be indicating the separate views that Marika and Radagon have on certain decisions being done, implication being this is suggesting Radagon was, in some form, present during Marika becoming the Elden Ring's vessel as the very first Merkstave rune here being before the wars/Erdtree, shows by the Dagaz Rune.

Marika's Elder Rune seems to be closest to Algiz, which seems to be the Rune of Link/Connection to a Divine or Archetypal Consciousness, connection with the gods and mystical/religious communication with non-human sentient beings. The parallels to what Marika essentially is to the Greater Will seems to be there with this Elder Futhark Rune
Radagon's Elder Rune depicted on his scarseal seems to be a bindrune between Isa Inguz and Gebo: Isa (rune of self ego), Gebo (rune of sacred marriage), Inguz (Rune of isolation or separation/Rune of gestation and internal growth, seems to be of Male sexuality as well), stored energy. two out of three of these runes also have a connection to stagnation
dropping this here since i finally see talk of the runes, i believe these runes actually depict happenings in the Lands Between, the last four runes in Royal Knight Helm's depiction making it most clear that it's telling Marika's past. The inclusion of Merkstave runes is what makes it more telling that these runes are meant to be interpreted by meaning rather than alphabetical, as Merkstave runes are widely seen to have nothing to do with the alphabetical side while changing whole interpretations on the meanings side
it's all a string of 23 non repeated runes whereas 24 futhark runes exist, the string is then repeated 4 times with the left side then having 4 merkstave runes that are then repeated on the left side's strings. the one missing rune is Ignuz which i personally believe ties most to Radagon's nature. I have been unable to figure out what the top most symbol is when looking at Royal Knight Helm, it is also repeated 4 times but there isn't anything on what it could be, it looks like two Ihwaz but other than that I am unsure.
All the runes depicted on the Royal Knight Helm are Futhark, with there even being depictions of Merkstave thrown in there, so this one at the very least could be interpretated
Honestly dude I’m blown away, since I first translated the map obelisks I’ve tried to find other examples of the connections to futhark, but I couldn’t. My stupid brain hadn’t even considered these items and I’m honestly mega blown away, bravo for finding this out, it’s truly incredible!

I dont think its gonna be a 60gb update. I know the steam page says 60gb but so does the base game. Probably gonna be 60gb total for both. Because if you look on your hdd the base game is only 49gb. And 11gb would make sense if its the size of Limgrave. And 11gb may sound small for something that size but most of the info to run it is already in the base games files.
I could always be wrong. But it makes no sense for something the size of Limgrave to be bigger than the base game on hdd space.

I also thought about the eclipse. But ultimatly i came to the conclusion that the land of shadow is the land of the dead. Even the skybox feels like an eternal eclipse.

You might be onto something with the Ice Outer God:
In the map item of the Mountain Top of the Giants (The one that has the Fire Giant Arena) you get an exposition of the Highest peak in all of lands between in the South. And there's not a single mountain To the south; We are taught that The mountain tops of the giants is the highest peak in the lands between, We actually can physically be there and see for ourselves that there is no other mountain in the whole Lands betweem. But the game explicitly says, "there is another mountain."
No way… are you serious!?!!! I had no idea about that piece of dialogue, where about is it if you don’t mind me asking?
Maybe the rune messages were etched by oracle envoys, or finger crones/maidens; some kind of beings or people who have been shown to have insight into potential future events.
That being said, it's hard to say whether anything mentioned in them will come to pass or not. Like there were multiple empyreans who could have become the new god, it could be that the runes are documenting multiple scenarios that could have happened, but not all of them are possible for us to achieve in the game.

the fire giants arent the only giants we see, remember-- the massive titanic skeletons in the mountaintops really strikes me as a possibility for these "ice giants". they were clearly the inhabitants prior to the fire giants but we hear nothing about them, would be sick to see answers

OOH! I REALLY liked this one! If we cause the Eclipse ourselves, it'll be definitely a "HOLY S%#@" moment! I think it's completely plausible, a Ice Outer God, there's one of Fire, so, why not! A Outer God has of some kind of a Vassal Beast, (Greater Will/Elden Beast), The "Fell God", the Fire Giant, probably because he was the very last one, A Outer God of Ice, what if it's something like Shimu from Godzilla x Kong The New Empire, a GIGANTIC Ice Dragon, with more than enough power to enprison other Beasts and entire WORLDS! OH S%#@! Just thought of something, MAJOR tin-foil hat, LOL, the Castle Sol area, we know the whole thing about Miquella, wanting to use the Eclipse to restore Godwyn's soul, well, what if, if we CAUSE the Eclipse, upon our return from the Land of Shadow, (and if Miquella becomes a full God, and we have to fight him), there is a FRICKIN' Deathblight Vassal Beast, waiting for us! The Outer God of Death has go to have it's own Vassal Beast too, right? The Twin-Bird wasn't it, it was just the creature the OG of Death communicated through it to the mortals. And upon the defeat of said possible Vassal Beast, that get's rid of the Deathblight! Going from how things go in Elden RIng, there's a Outer God, a God that the previous rules through, a Vassal Beast, then some kind of Lord, that rules the physical world. IF Miquella ascends, he HAS to have a Vassal Beast too, maybe? MAN, I can't wait till June 21!

download size for dlcs is generally just listed as the same size as the base game, if it's on steam. elden ring is listed as 60 gb on the steam store page, so the dlc is listed also as 60gb (yeah it's stupid but whatever). as far as i know, the actual download size of the dlc is unknown right now, so making any assumptions on the amount of content just from the "12 gb" and "60 gb" statements people make is stupid

What if we see ice giants in the game in the form or the residents of Zamor ruins, also Knights of Zamor were sworn enemies to the Fire Giants and fought them countless times but we never unveiled the reason of that conflict think about it

@@theemeraldgecko310 I was intrigued when we start to unfold the Zamor ruins, it kinda remind me (in sorts of art) like other games would depict ruins under the snow or near snow environments.
The more I analyze this game, the more convinced I become that many of the factions, at least those of the demigods, had been all working together at one point. There's pretty good circumstantial evidence linking almost any one demigod to another.
For example, it's subtle, yet pretty hard to reasonably deny that the carian siblings were all in on a conspiracy together. From Radahn's portrait in the Manor to Ranni giving Rykard an artifact infused with Destined Death, and even just the simple geography of the caria Manor being situated at the foot of Mt Gelmir, practically able to see Rykard deep within the hollowed mountain, as it's quite open and naturally well illuminated. It'd be weird for Ranni to use the carian Manor as a base of operations, if Ranni and Rykard were working against each other. Instead, it to me implies the opposite. Radahn likely lost the plot so to speak after the shattering, as the great runes seem to be pretty insidious items that have a powerful effect on the mind of the one thst possesses it.
One thing I will note connecting ranni and radahn as allies, or at least of a shared knowledge between them, is that ranni's corpse and radahn are both missing their feet (this happens to albunaurics as well, as their lower legs and feet literally fade, going translucent until eventually disappearing entirely. Not sure if it's connected, but it's a thing). Given that Ranni was trying to escape the fate her physical body was destined for, Radahn was patient 0 for an apocalyptic Scarlet Rot blast, and the cutscene of the firegiant making s certain sacrifice....I'm thinking there's something linking feet and divinity, because Miyazaki doesn't mind being irony personified every now and again.
Given that the DLC has miquella as a main focus, in the context of his lore in the main game, miquella is probably the evil mastermind behind everything. The fact that he's even in the dlc at all says just how significant he is. Other than artorias, pretty much every From dlc seems entirely unrelated or as something that didn't factor into the design of the base game, yet over time reveal how they are an intrinsic part of each game's lore. Its evident that these stories were planned out in the entirety from the beginning, although I'm sure they get altered throughout the development process.
I'm working on piecing something together after I had a pretty big revalation the kther day, and while it's a bit way too much to type up in the comments, and not in any way formally organized, it is very relevant to the idea that the order of gold is notnehat its cracked up to be. Much of what we are told in the base game is often a contradictory mess by design, not because From cutting costs in the writers' room or got sloppy. This isn't so much 1 theory as it is numerous different ideas that all circle around a singular primary premise, twisting amongst each like an ancient ruins around a central tornado sitting atop a gravitational anomaly. Specifically, a gravitational anomaly sitting deep, deep, DEEP underground, veiled by the mists that steadily emanate from the secret inner world (basically the 3 body problem, or ay least I think that's what that phrase referring to
I had always thought rykard and Ranni were in on it together, but I had kinda counted Radahn out.. but you make some really good points! This was an amazing read, can’t wait for the full write up you mentioned!
@@theemeraldgecko310 honestly, the only thing really holding me back is the issue of quality screenshots. For some reason, it's weirdly complicated and annoying to transfer screenshots from Xbox to different, better device. Such as an old midrange blackberry. Because a lot of what I point to for evidence is purely visual and open to multiple interpretations. It's one thing to spend several paragraphs trying to cram as many detailed descriptions as I can, it's much easier to get my points across when I can just draw a shitty red circle around the important bits lol.

I remember seeing a video talking about the Erd tree in ert tree being two different things. Is it possible that we are encased inside the Ert tree? And That’s how we see the Erd tree the “spirit” of the actual tree

My reasoning for believing its not Godwyn, was due to how the eclipse was described/ castle sol's principles which and their being no evidence to suggest Miquella had anything to do with Godwyn. It’s an inverse of a Song of Ice and Fire. Ice Giants bad Dragons Good. It’s actually inverted. The Erdtree is a wyrwood. It stores souls. Bran is Marika, shireen is Melina. Etc. I even think Rykard is Euron Greyjoy.

@@theemeraldgecko310 nah u good, runes are dope and multidimensional in their meaning. It's EZ to forget about 1 or 2 of their aspects beyond the main raw translation of the characters.
If you add this to your hypothesis, it does match the whole Miquella eclipse scheme plus his now revealed trip to the Land of Shadows.
It's fromsoftware so a Griffith BS twist is what may be in store. However; as a fellow abused child, I really hope they give him a chance to heal, and help built a better future for everyone himself included... unlike most of us IRL.

I looked at these with some others over a year ago - the text isn't futhark. It contains some futhark runes, yes, but it also borrows from several other ancient languages from the Middle East and Mediterranean - most notably a language called "carian". This fake written language also appears on the bark scrolls in Marika's bedchamber, and on the obelisks underground.
Unfortunately, you cannot translate these pieces of text because they were designed to stop you attempting to derive meaning where there is none to be found.
That explains my inability to translate some details, I’m only familiar with Futhark! Did you come to some of the same conclusions when you went over the map obelisks?
I went to them as well and tried but as you said, they’re all blurry it’s super annoying, maybe they’ll have them un blurred in the shadow realm?
@@theemeraldgecko310 I went as far as decompiling the game to look at the raw textures for the obelisks just to be sure. They're definitely scuffed and hard to make out in places but I could spot separate characters from separate languages in places.
Ok but ur missing a HUGE point, that the end of the game WON’T change after playing the dlc said Miyazaki, so whatever happens on the DLC can’t be moved over to main game in terms of story points or events

I’ve heard that said before but honestly I’ve never watched or read berserk! A lot of people said the same sort of thing when I made a video on Miquella being the true villain of Elden ring about a year and a half ago, I really need to watch it!

One major issue with this theory is that Miyazaki already confirmed the DLC has no effect on the core game and the story is 100% self-contained and they didn't even plan to make a DLC for the game until AFTER release. We also know the DLC itself is fairly small when compared to the regular game. I would almost guarantee that the map obelisks are just stock assets since similar runes like that have been confirmed to be exactly that.

the dlc is unfortunately 12 gb. I was ecstatically excited when i heard the 60gb size, but it has since been clarified that the 60gb listing is including the base game, which is 48 gb. If you look at Far Cry 6, they have a DLC that is 2 hours long. It is listed at 170gb. 12gb is still a ton of content, thats like the entire game of sekiro, especially when you consider the amount of assets they were probably able to repurpose from the base game.

I'm guessing that the Ice God you mentioned is the Old Crone, who was the leader of Zamor, and is the dead body on top of the tower (the one people think is Ranni, even though her body is where her ghost is chilling at the end of her quest.)

Many of the Soulsborne games have elements inspired by Berserk. [spoilers ahead in case you haven't read a 28 year old manga chapter]. In board terms, during the Eclipse, the knight in shining armor sacrifices his comrades for godhood. So what if Miquella does something similar to ascend from mere demigod. In any case, I expect this eclipse will be a huge betrayal out of which only we escape/survive.

It’s definitely a possibility! It really could be her at the end of the trailer, but it seems to have a bit more exuberance to their voice? Could just be the same voice actor? Really interesting ideas dude!
