1990 was the year I joined Pragati Mahavidyalaya for my graduation course, and our daily hangout place was this idli bandi and Rangooli restaurant golden days. Now in Chennai I miss this idli and I tell stories of this place how we were confronted by bunking classes and chatting around by our most respected Late Sri Asharam sir vice principal

Started somewhere in 86/87. The first idly bandi in this lane was near Amrat Atithi Gruh. Then this one started under the tamrind tree near SBI gate. The best part was the leaves and flowers from the tree falling in chutney giving extra flavor 🙂🙂..around 90 rangoli started

Even I studied same year intermediate in Pragati and we never used to eat here because of the same reason as it mentioned by Yogesh 😊

మా ఊళ్ళో 2003 లో కూడా మా వీధిలో 50 పైసలు దోశ అందులో చట్నీ, పల్లెం. ఆరు ఇళ్లులు దాటితే అక్కడ 1 రూపాయి ఇడ్లీ దోశ చట్నీ, బొంబాయి చట్నీ.

I did 1987 to 89 inter and 94 to 96 MBA. Seen jagan mohan reddy in library several times. Idly is super.

I joined Pragati Mahavidyalaya in 1995 for my graduation and this place had idli bandi at that time which used to be our hangout place. There were multiple instances where we had idli's for free.

This is a excellent eatery. You can eat to your heart's content as the price is very reasonable. I know this place from the time they used to charge ₹10 per plate of Idli/Upma. There is one more plate called Ganga Jamuna wherein they give your combination of 2 Idli's and a scoop of Upma.
I used to eat daily at 5rs per plate. This was in 2005
I also like chutney like this thin. It tastes better.

I used to have this idli for Rs 2/- In 1994. Good point was, they use to give 2 idlis for Rs 1/- if you were student, not sure how it is now.

I dont remember the price, but I used eat there from early 90s till my grandfather got retired from BSNL in 2000.
I graduated in 1984 from pragathi maha vidyalaya that time none of these centres were there. They might have opened after 84 or 85. Just calculate the no of years.

That chutney is like he took one bucket of water added 2 tablespoon of grinded coconut & he calls that chutney, it is not covonut chutney it is water chutney
