  • If you are like me the Hood and Nomax tank bags both look super appealing. How do you choose? Maybe I can help or maybe I can lead you to be like me and just grab both.

I am so puzzled because both tank bags are really amazing (in my opinion). I got the Pico already, which I love and for everyday use to me is perfect. For travelling though want something bit bigger and can't decide. Although being UK based the waterproofness might be the reason I go for the hood. But the Nomax, but the hood, but... haha. Good video, thanks.

Only one thing you can do… buy both …haha. If I had to choose only one I’d go for the hood purely for the waterproof convenience.

I've tried so hard to like the tank bag but it just gets in my way when I stand on my Tiger 800 xc. I switched to the Giant Loop handlebar bag and really like it. I'm eyeing the Mosko nomini bag....

Probably depends greatly on the bike. I can stand without issue with either bag. That being said I don’t use tank bags on my crf300l because they would sit more in the way on that bike.

@@AmpdMoto1 Yeah same on my KTM 500 with the Acerbies 3gal tank. The way that tank sits there's no way to get even the small Rigg Gear tank bag to sit on it.

Surprised...no clear pouch on the top for a map / directions?

They actually do come with one. A very nice one that attaches to the molle panel loops. I’ve just never used them so I didn’t keep them.

Why does your Hood look different… the molle doesn’t look like the one on the product page

I have the original V1 so it looks slightly different but functionality is the same.

How well does the hood bag do with keeping out the dust?

Haven’t had it in extreme conditions but with the trails I’ve ridden it’s never been an issue. I keep camera gear in it quite often.
