Hi friends! Thanks for stopping by... Be sure to leave a comment letting me know what cardmaking supply you can't craft without! :) Here is a link to the blog post and FULL product list: bit.ly/2Y6jF3M
I'm 67 and just getting into card making. I was confused with all the tools that are out there ... UNTIL NOW. Thanks, Simon. Now I know which paper trimmer to buy!
Simon, you rock!! The idiots giving you thumbs down are probably super jealous of you. Boys your age most likely. Don’t sweat it! You are a rock star!!
Just getting started with card making and I so appreciate your insight, expertise and recommendations! Now I feel like a have a good footing to get started after watching this video. Thanks!!
There are several that I can't live without: craft pick, T-square ruler & detail scissors. I find the thin stamp blocks difficult to use. To get a good impression with the thick blocks I use a mouse pad, the thicker squishy type, underneath my paper.
Simon you are such a knowledgeable young man, you rock! Thanks for sharing that, I’ve been crafting for a few years and still learned something new. My favourite tool would be my stamp pads, you can do so much more with them than just stamping. Keep up the the good work and I will see you next video 👍
Love your recommendations (totally agree with the ones that I have, and a few products to look into the next time I go craft shopping), thank you for sharing them. I might need to look into getting the bigger shears one of these days. Can't agree more with the trimmers! I have a few trimmers but use my Tonic ones the most. I have a bunch of blending tool foams that I have in the back of the distress ink cubes. Need to practice more with them more and maybe look into getting some of the blending brushes. Though that won't be for a while since I'm still in the research phase.
Thanks for this video Simon =). It's nice to know exactly what tools are needed instead of trying to guess at it. I have to say right now my favorite basics are my inks. I love trying different ways to apply them to my projects.
Hi Simon I just discovered your UA-cam’s my favourite item to use is a pick too help take the paper off of double sided tape. I have long nails and it takes forever with out it.
Thank you for all the great info, Simon. I already use much of what you recommend but will consider the Gemini Jr. (I've been a Sizzix Big Shot girl for some time now). I know you didn't spend too much time on embossing in this vid but a must for me is the pre-embossing powder. Oy! what a mess without it. Keep up the good work. You are a joy to watch & very inspirational.
I have many craft tools I can't live without but my most favorite is my misti. I love it. I love all your videos. Your great. I am trying to organize my craft room so it is functional. I love yours. I know you had some video's on some ink storage you have come up with or found. I would love a video from you about all your storage solutions and links if possible where you bought them.it would be so helpful. I want my room like yours.
Hello Simon, I have uses the liquid glue sometimes but eventhough says it dries clears you can see it on the card stock. I will try this one you're showing. Thanks
I have most of these items and am enjoying them. But, I've really been wondering which die-cutting machine is the best. Thanks for your info on this one. Happy card- making :)

what kind of pads do crafters use to create hieght on a card. for example adding an image not directly to the card but like a mini round, square or cut in half "blob" and then the little image is raised as in a 3D effect...I jut don't know what to call that. TY
Wait !!!! you look so organized - how did you lose the Tim Holtz craft sheet?!?! maybe at an event? They should send a replacement to you, because of your review I purchased one :)
Simon, this is a great video for beginners and perhaps experienced crafters. I was not aware of the clear foam, so I will be checking into that. I have to say, I do agree with the other posters that said it would be great if you did not talk so fast. Thanks for your great videos.
Hi Kathy! So glad you enjoyed the video... sometimes I talk fast since there is so much information to cover and I don't even realize it. I will slow down! :)
I have been watching you for a couple months now and I love and look forward to all of your videos! Never realized until today that you are a fellow Wisconsinite! ❤️
Hi Simon. I love your products and I appreciate all your ideas. During this whole video I was thinking...breathe. lol. It was hard to watch because you talked way too fast. I did finish it because I wanted to hear your must haves. Take my comment for what it is. Again, I love your products and I'm so glad that I discovered you. I watched you do a demo at the arizona show and cant wait to get all your new stuff. Take care.

It's crazy how many paper trimmers we will gather until we find the perfect one. 🙄 Far too many at my place. I can't do without my glue remover eraser. Saves me all the time.
love you and your crafty cards - however - I am old and sometimes it's hard to understand you super fast speech when naming brand names. I am looking for a good paper trimmer and it looks like you have what I want but even after replaying your awesome video three times, all I could get was Tonk studios, which just sounds wrong. please help - slowly - name brand of your two awesome paper trimmers. L O V E your videos.
I bought the little applicators, and I’m really disappointed, the foam tips are too soft, not enough hold; they’re just good for painting on a stencil; I thought it was Foam at each end; in addition they take off the wood; in short they are almost useless to me
I understand why he talks fast. When I go to UA-cam to decide which tutorials to view I always go for the shortest ones first. We are all busy people! 🤣

Wow, thanks for the mouse pad tip! I'm gonna have to try that!
Yes! A mouse pad or foam works great for stamping... great tip CouzCat!
I agree w/your picks too CouzCat & I use the Stampers Secret Weapon pad under my cardstock in order to get a good impression.
Thanks for the info. I am just starting card making and this helped me.

Thanks Donna! Me too... I love my new colored ink pads and use them on almost every card. I love just how much you can do with inks. :)

Appreciate the recommendations, Simon!
Are you going to to make your white cardstock in 12x12? I make 6x4.5 cards & would get more cards out of bigger paper
TFS! I got myself the Fiskars scissors and the stamp cleaner pad! Both are great! Thanks for the suggestions ♥️
Yay! I hope you love them Dani! :)

They are Joy Claire stamps. Here is the video I shared them in: ua-cam.com/video/IahY-ucKzyY/v-deo.html

Always such helpful info, Simon. Thank you.
I love this video I’ve just started card making

People use sticky foam tape to raise the object above the card base. I’ve never done it before but I’ve seen it done on UA-cam videos.
Wait !!!! you look so organized - how did you lose the Tim Holtz craft sheet?!?! maybe at an event? They should send a replacement to you, because of your review I purchased one :)
Yay! I am glad you purchased one and hope you are loving it... I found the craft sheet today. It was sitting in plain sight, lol!
Inklipse glad you found the craft sheet. I do love the glass mat! So easy to clean.
What a great video and very informative.
Great Vid!!! but the Tonic/TimHoltz stamp platform kicks butt over Misti!!! :P
Great info. Thank you.
Love the scissors!! I have 2 pair of them!
Where do I buy the purple tape?
I'm new to the craft and don't have many supplies yet -- making lists

My favorite product is the Tombow ink eraser to fix my mistakes.
Yes! that is such an awesome tool. :)
Can you please send a link for fussing scissors please
I have been watching you for a couple months now and I love and look forward to all of your videos! Never realized until today that you are a fellow Wisconsinite! ❤️

Good information but I like Tim Holtz Stamp platform so much better !
It's crazy how many paper trimmers we will gather until we find the perfect one. 🙄 Far too many at my place. I can't do without my glue remover eraser. Saves me all the time.
Exactly! I hope this video will help any newbie so they won't have to purchase a ton of paper trimmers they don't like. :)
Have many that you suggested. Someone not liking heat embossing?? Gasp!!
Right?! Embossing is so magical :)
Love your videos! Great tips just slow down.. 👍

Those two salty dislikers from the last video are back 🤣

Good to know. Thanks for sharing that info!
They work perfectly for adding ink into small spaces on stencils. I wouldn't use them on any big projects...
@@simon.hurley the tips are too soft, foam would have been firmer to use (like the black Ranger applicator plate)
Simon your video is so informative, but please talk more slowly and breathe
Please talk a little slower. Great info!!! Thank you!!
Go to settings to change the playback speed. Simon does talk fast to pack in a lot of info but you can control the speed! :-)
