  • Maximizing sales during the holiday season is crucial for your small business, especially if you have a freeze-drying business. With the right strategies, you can boost your sales and increase your revenue more than at any other time in the year. However, it can be overwhelming to figure out where to start. In this video, I will share my Top 5 sales opportunities for the holidays and proven strategies that have helped me maximize my sales for my freeze-drying business every year.
    When I started my freeze-dried business in 2020, I had no idea how much time commitment it would require or whether the time I put into the company would be worth continuing for the money it brought in. This channel was created to help you become more informed about the freeze-drying industry, and how to work smarter using tools and resources that can make you more efficient which can bring you more money...faster!
    The freeze-drying industry is expected to grow exponentially over the next 5-7 years to over $70 billion worldwide. What piece of the pie are you taking?

    Here are several freeze-dryers I use in my business and I would recommend considering them for your existing freeze-dried business or just starting out.
    - Harvest Right Freeze Dryers - affiliates.harvestright.com/1.... I like the Harvest Right Large to start out and then you can advance to the XL if you have enough business coming in.
    - StayFresh Freeze Dryer - stayfreshfreezedry.com/?sca_r.... I like the freezing speed and dry times of this machine. It's a little larger than the Harvest Right Medium but you can do 12-13 pounds of food in it which is only a few pounds less than the Harvest Right Large capacity. Even though Harvest Right says up to 23 pounds that's not possible in my experience, especially with fruit.
    Blue Alpine Freeze Dryers could be another alternative to purchase for your business, I do not own one of these freeze dryers currently so I don't have any direct experience with the machine:

    Great ideas!!!
    Have you thought of making a quick start guide/videos for different types of candies? I have been experimenting with a lot of candies, but it's a huge time sink if it doesn't work. It would be great to settings in one place for hard shell candy, gummy, hard candies and maybe cheesecake/ice cream sammies. Thanks for all the helpful videos!

    Do you ever do organic fruits, yogurt, ice cream and treats? I'm kind of a health nut (not a nazi), but, I'm really wanting to do as much organic as possible. I won't be starting off at commercial level or licensed, and if I'm doing organic, am I able to market the products as such??

    Been subscribed to you for a few months trying to lean . I bought the XL harvest right at the peak of freeze dried skittles on TikTok as soon as I saw the buzz slow way down due to TikTok stopping sales on TikTok shop I never opened my machine . It’s still sits brand new on his crate. I don’t know if I should just jump in and get started or not kind of discouraged.. I want to get a website to sell online. I also want to get personalized bags with the company name but I don’t know where also, how do I find out if that name is not taken don’t want to get in any trouble. thank you. Any help would be appreciated.

    I really really want to start a business like this but I'm scared to death to spend that much money and not have some type of marketing plan

    • @freezedriedbusiness
      @freezedriedbusiness  9 місяців тому

      I think you answered your own question. Build a small marketing plan and do it! $3500 for the machine is a relatively small start up cost compared to other businesses and there’s a good resell market for FD if you decide to call it quits

    Where are some good places to look for bags/ packaging? You don't use mylar exclusively do you? It seems unnecessary especially if someone is eating something right away.
    p.s. Thanks for all the helpful info! 👍 😊

      I go with more short-term storage bags because people eat it right away. There are some links in the video description of where I get them on Amazon.

    Do you run your machines 24/7 to make sure you have enough for holidays? how do you stay on top of demand of future events plus "we need this now"?

    • @freezedriedbusiness

      It's a juggling match, I focus on getting ahead with longer cycle products because candy is only 2-3 hours to get done. I also request pre-orders for larger orders so I know what I need to prepare for.

    Question, how much would you say is difference between retail price of a freeze dried fruit and retail price of its fresh version? Considering same quantity

      I bought 1 pound of fresh strawberries a few days ago for $1.98 and I sell my 1 oz of freeze-dried strawberries for $9.00 a bag.

    I’m not interested in a business but I am very interested in purchasing a freeze drying machine just for fun. My children and grandchildren are encouraging me to get one. I think with the family using/enjoying it, it could be worthwhile for snacks and food. What are your thoughts? Thank you.

    • @freezedriedbusiness
      @freezedriedbusiness  10 місяців тому

      I'd say the majority of people buy freeze-dryers for personal use just like you are describing so yes I think it's worth it.
      Here are several freeze-dryers I use in my business and I would recommend considering them even for home use. You'd probably be better off with a Harvest Right Medium.
      - Harvest Right Freeze Dryers - affiliates.harvestright.com/1974.html.
      - StayFresh Freeze Dryer - stayfreshfreezedry.com/?sca_ref=3292008.4uBi4MIG3W&sca_source=UA-cam. I like the freezing speed and dry times of this machine. It's a little larger than the Harvest Right Medium but you can do 12-13 pounds of food in it which is only a few pounds less than the Harvest Right Large capacity. • @freezedriedbusiness
      @freezedriedbusiness  10 місяців тому +1

      Jelly Beans (no), not sure what candy puffs are, hard candies have had success but you have to soften them up first by warming them in the oven or in your Freeze Dryer.

    Is this business saturated??? I don't want to buy a machine and can't make any sales...

    • @freezedriedbusiness
      @freezedriedbusiness  9 місяців тому

      That's a loaded question, haha! I think saturation is subjective based on your mindset. Yes, there are more people doing freeze-drying than last year and yes, you may not make as much at the same rate as someone who started two years ago. But freeze-drying is now an accessible industry for some many of us now where as before it took $75k or more to buy a machine. In my opinion, it's definitely worth it to make your own and you will pay off your machine. The business profitability will come more from your creativity and tenacity than just being the first person in your market to sell freeze-dried candy etc. Good luck and thank you for watching!
