When you take apart the snorkel does it affect anything when putting it back together? I’d worry that something doesn’t go back on right and water gets in while snorkeling

It's a good idea to clean your snorkel after each use. That's not always realistic but at a minimum you should rinse out your snorkel with fresh water after each use and let it completely dry away from sunlight.
