Land Rover Freelander 2 / Evoque throttle valve motor fault investigation

This video shows the source of the "squealing" noise that comes from the front of the Land Rover Freelander 2 / LR2 / Evoque Diesel models when you turn off the engine. The motorised valve has plastic gears that strip.

Hello,I have a question.. can the engine not start if it gets stuck? Is it possible?

I think it will just run badly - not sure it would cause total engine stop

thanks for great video. The fault is so common you can just buy the replacement inner wheel off eBay.

There's now a kit available to replace the worn gears.

Yes I have seen these for sale.... not heard any good or bad reports on them yet

Is this a plug and play part or dose it need resetting via diagnostics tool
