You're right. It is a HORRIBLE place to come to a stop, over crest on the line, I was waiting for someone to smash into us, so had to GTFO asap, hence I was acting without thinking about the "minor things".
It’s the gas pedal. Tell him to buy a newer version gas pedal and it will go away. Basically the reading that the traction control system gets from the pedal is incorrect and it puts it into limp mode. The check engine light goes away after a few days. The first few times it may go away with a restart.
I thought the exactly the same when I first saw it happen, I'm not a mechanic so I couldn't put all the words together like you and someone else who had this car did 😅
It can also be fixed by adding a piece of rubber between the pedal and the kickdown button as a temporary fix. It gets worn by using kick down and the potenciometer in the pedal assembly goes out of range and throws an error.
I’ve had a similar problem on my C63 - the gas pedal was malfunctioning and would sometimes trigger limp mode when floored. In the end it was lighting up the check engine light but it was nothing serious, a new pedal and rock on!

Oil over-heating on the facelift models is very common and the car will usually go into limp mode at 130-135 degrees. It’s due to the shitty facelift front bumper which reduces the grill area so significantly that the cooling system is compromised, it’s almost impossible to track a facelift without it overheating. For serious track use you can fit the black series cooling kit It’s a couple of grand for parts and labour, but well worth it.
A suggestion to all people watching this video: NEVER TURN OFF YOUR CAR WHILE MOVING! You will loose brake pressure and power steering so your car will become immediately uncontrollable. Stop first then turn it off to reset the ecu. Some modern cars requires 10/20 sec to completely rebooth so wait for that before restarting (some even requires to lock the doors as you are leaving the car so try that as well if needed).
With hydraulic power steering and being in gear you will have power steering and vacuum for brakes.. With electric versions it depends on the car if you will have power steering while having ignition on.

It's about the traction control right? My C63 had major pedal issues. I had to replace twice. I hit a huge bump and threw the car into Limp Mode! Replaced the Throttle Body and throttle position sensor and it never happened again. This is the same kind of issue.
In this case ,put off the Traction control totally, it goes to factory reset if you press the pedal till it clicks if the Traction control isn't off, simple thing put off Traction control
It’s almost certainly a stability control plausibility fault. Kerbs and things like that are notorious for causing software plausibility issues, particularly on older systems like Bosch 8. The fact you get purely a stability unavailable fault tells you that rather than a cascade of other faults. Merc clearly then choose to go into limp home as a fault reaction.
GUYS THE PROBLEM IS WHEN MISHA IS NOT CHANGING MANUALLY THE GEAR AND THE CAR CHANGES IT SELF AUTO THEN YOU CAN SEE THE LIGHT GOES UP IS 100% SOFTWARE ISSUE THE CAR GOES IN KINDA ''LEAP'' MODE.
The C63 is a fun sounding car but it’s not that great on track. Overheats and the traction control, even when set to off, can freak out and put the car into limp mode like what happened in the video.
Yet another car that seems hampered by an excess of technology and programming. The comments on this video are the best part of it; backseat mechanics are amazing!
Overheating from the first view on the beginning. 2°C and goes up to 131 at next limp mode. You can't use a car at this hard driving without some preps. It's not a track car from stock. Need some oil and coolant prep and if temp are so high, improved cooling system or Evans coolant that endure high temps and pressure without damaging engine But over 100°C engine oil and 130 coolant, you start burning oil and need cooldown lap.
Hey man, love your videos and I have been watching for a long long time. I think one of the first boosted Boris crossovers was when I found you. You gave quite great advice to yourself last year, and I just wanted to leave a reminder that maybe you should follow up more on it. Take it slower! You are pushing it quite hard, on this cars prepared and maintained god knows how, by god know who, with 4 people really pushing the limit of the package. I really panicked when I saw the car breaking down for the 2nd time when it did. That was really a crappy spot! Maybe it's worth it to look back and see if it is still worth it to take those types of cars out on track...
I had a super nasty moment earlier this year. Nastiest of my career I'd say. I'll probably post the video later in the year. But after that I said: no more shitboxes, no more cars with stock brakes, unless supercars. This car was quite ok. And tbh modern performance cars can do weird stuff too. I've drawn the line sooner now for sure.
It’s so difficult to know how any car is going to perform no matter if it’s new or old, and I test work in progress factory cars that are supposed to be market leading sport luxury. Until I’ve had that first, safer, shakedown run I wouldn’t be pushing any car this hard. I don’t know if they still open the GP circuit for laps, but it might be a way to get an idea of how a car is going to perform on a track with lots of run off and safer circuit design, before giving the car the full Nordschleife treatment. Overall I love the videos though and I wish this one had been more of a success having a W204 C63 myself.
This happened to me with a Clio RS200 (rental) after clipping the kerb at Wipperman. The kill switch kicked in automatically when the car "landed". Maybe this was somehow related?
As the limp mode seemed to happen when going over curbs, my first thought went to how annoying it is to take the ferry locally, where every Mercedes and BMW is screaming the whole boat ride, due to anti jack alarms going off when there's waves, could there be something akin to that affecting things when going on the curbs? Edit: Reading other comments, it seems it's a gas pedal thing or something, so ignore my random guess. :P
The car should go back to the tuner. Its torque monitoring intervening, the ecu sees that the car is tuned and puts the car in limp mode where you cant even drive anymore because the throthle does not react. Fault code will be a few P06xx in the ecu.
Funny the passenger couldn't keep his eye off the road for more than 1 sec to help with the settings of the car. Yesterday I had my passenger set up my lap timer while doing a hot lap on RE-71rs poor guy took him 2 full laps and was car sick but we got it working
I do remember that TC not fully off with modded cars (specially with horse power gain ) usually break or have issues… The car not knowing how too manage the extra power can be a possibility 🤷🏿♂️
need to press ok so you can see AMG water/oil temps instead of "sport handling mode" This is even more important seen as the car was having an issue early on.
We all like Misha. Who would give him their pride and joy car to drive here? The question is would he give any of you the the favourite car he owns to drive? He is a brilliant driver. I would not give him my car for sure even if he payed to repair it after some broke.
Erm, loads of people as you can see from Misha’s videos. He knows the limits of the cars he drives and has expert track knowledge. He’s a safe pair of hands. However, would I let him do a lap in my W205 C63? Probably not.
4:00 Starting the car is only available in P or N when it's coming to automatic gearboxes, so trying to start them while the engine is off during a drive in D is impossible. Don't ask me how I know it lol
Great vlog featuring the Mercedes C63 AMG! I really enjoy all your videos , but I have a slight disagreement regarding the part where you are more than two people in the car during a track tour. Considering that every kilogram matters and that it's crucial to maintain the driver's focus, I believe it's best to limit the number of passengers. Safety and optimal performance should always be a top priority. Keep up the great work though!

To much emotions 😂,@ 5:44 the BMW driver thinks,my car was develop here on this track 😂 you habe no chance, in Germany we say: Taxi 🚕 Fahrer 😂
My C63 had major pedal issues. I had to replace twice. I hit a huge bump and threw the car into Limp Mode! Replaced the Throttle Body and throttle position sensor and it never happened again. This is the same kind of issue.
That grinding noise when putting it in Park while still rolling … ouch 🫣
In this case ,put off the Traction control totally, it goes to factory reset if you press the pedal till it clicks if the Traction control isn't off, simple thing put off Traction control
I believe the 204/212s use shift by wire anyway, it'll only let you go into park when the TCU knows its safe to do so
The girl took it like a champ.
I don't know if it's just me but Misha should start his laps with just an abrupt pedal to tha metal pull
She has the look of 'oh god not again' on her face :D
Interesting, it happens on the curbs but has no problem with the carousel.
Yet another car that seems hampered by an excess of technology and programming. The comments on this video are the best part of it; backseat mechanics are amazing!
oil temps climbed quite fast to 120'C
Overheating from the first view on the beginning. 2°C and goes up to 131 at next limp mode.
You can't use a car at this hard driving without some preps.
It's not a track car from stock.
Need some oil and coolant prep and if temp are so high, improved cooling system or Evans coolant that endure high temps and pressure without damaging engine
But over 100°C engine oil and 130 coolant, you start burning oil and need cooldown lap.
Maybe this was somehow related?
i remember working with Kevin back at the time he was driving his blue E39 M5 ! Enjoy ....
Edit:
Reading other comments, it seems it's a gas pedal thing or something, so ignore my random guess. :P
Misha you were gaining ground on that m3 too lol 😂 he got saved by that pedal issue
The car should go back to the tuner. Its torque monitoring intervening, the ecu sees that the car is tuned and puts the car in limp mode where you cant even drive anymore because the throthle does not react. Fault code will be a few P06xx in the ecu.
Watching this makes me wanna go to Nürburgring again... In Gran Turismo 4 😂
Best lap ever. 10 years of wear in 10 minutes
Could at least wait till stopped before trying to slam it into park.
can't blame him, that was the worst place to have a break down. He needed to fucking hurry up, or someone might have rear ended him really bad.
@@hoen2009 just put it in neutral and start it, unless you can’t do that in the silly AMG.
Some mercedes do that shut off thing, I had a ML350 and if you do a full emergency stop it shuts off fuel and you have to put it in park and restart
even in the first second of the lap, they look so serious and panicked lol.
Funny the passenger couldn't keep his eye off the road for more than 1 sec to help with the settings of the car. Yesterday I had my passenger set up my lap timer while doing a hot lap on RE-71rs poor guy took him 2 full laps and was car sick but we got it working
“Tell me about the car”
“Oh, everything stock but engine is ‘stage’…”
“Bye, have a nice day!”
Also that issue is ESL tracktion module. Easy 3k fix at benz. Needs to be programmed
That G80 M3, "F8HDW" didn't hit an apex during the time they were behind it. "Weird lines" is too nice put.
An accident waiting to happen.
Got the same problem in my C when i pressed the accelerator really fast down.
the owner, when you start the lap looks at you as if you are going to kill him 🤣🤣
This "SPORT handling mode" sign there is like, you're on your own buddy, it's all yours 😅
Happened to me with E500 :) it was the gas pedal. Changed it and its perfect
The girl and guy in the back have that,’’Why did I agree to do this I am scared look?”, on their faces.
The engine warning light remained on after the last stop !
same car ride vibes as when i ask if everyone has what they need before we leave, and then we have to turn around 20 min later.
Lol, this video looks like Misha stole 3 ultra realistic robots 😂
It seems like the message "ne fonctionne pas cf. notice d'utilisation" is related to ABS / ESP sensors causing the engine to shut down.
I do remember that TC not fully off with modded cars (specially with horse power gain ) usually break or have issues…
The car not knowing how too manage the extra power can be a possibility 🤷🏿♂️
Just fyi: You can start almost all automatic cars also in N. No need to put it into P.
Misha driving devil style, ECU detects like a crash and cut fuel lol
I love the way Misha is doing his usual cool, calm and collected. The other three look to varing degrees like rabbits caught in the headlights!
need to press ok so you can see AMG water/oil temps instead of "sport handling mode" This is even more important seen as the car was having an issue early on.
