The Race to Alaska, or R2AK, is a boat race from Washington to Alaska up the legendary Inside Passage, and there are only two rules: no motors, and no support.

In 2016, brothers Cooper and Nate Rooks took the boat they already had - a Boston Whaler Harpoon 5.2 sailing dinghy - and entered it in R2AK. They rowed through calms and sailed through gales, making it to Ketchikan as one of the final finishers in R2AK 2016.

Awesome. What an accomplishment. My son and I just bought a Harpoon 5.2 so I can teach him how to sail in the Vancouver, BC, area. I was looking for info about the Harpoon and came across this. The Harpoon has been fun so far and seems like a sturdy boat and your adventure proves this.
