Not sure why Tata and Mahindra are shying away from introducing a hybrid petrol engine, which is the need of the hour. EVs is still a long way from full adoption due to lack of proper infrastructure and EVs are not completely green / clean as stated…
I don't think Tata and Mahindra have in-house hybrid tech. Developing it in house will take another 3-5 years. Also, they are not bought for fuel efficiency, so there is less incentive to develop that either from brand perspective.
Are 2nd row seats adjustable now ? Earlier there were complaints about brake pads wearing out just for 10k kms is that issue fixed ? Dimming RVM's is still a miss.🤦🏻
@@SaiKiran-fp1bi That's not Dumb. It's common. You'll experience it in every vehicle which has an ADAS. It's kind of like a "side effect" to a medicine. Sun blinds and powered tail gate is still missing. Boss mode and rear seat ventilation doesn’t matter much because the bench version is anyway the go-to better version
Features are not competitive when compared with tata. Auto dimming IRVM missing, sun blind shade missing, second row ventilation and second row sliding is a big miss.
Is it the right time to buy now? EV is coming I know but I am not interested in EV model. Should I buy now or is there any news of XUV 700 facelift or AX9 or 7XO? (as the internet says)
Suspension is noisy feels like its falling apart.. road noise is high.. The infotainment is glitchy.. The cars radiator pump failed at48k.. Service is not great.. xu700 is not serviced at all Mahindra service centers .. Living with is difficult.. The product needs _ NVH INSULATION.. WHICH I AM SURE THEY MISSED .. THE SUSPENSION NOISE IS A PUT DOWN.... feels cheap..
There are significant vibrations, both diesel and petrol in the second row, especially the middle seat. The vibrations are very noticeable when the car is stationary. I hope that has been rectified with the 2024 version.
I am paying 30 lacs for a car that has good engine good power but a very light steering, doesn't not make you feel like driving a suv or in it, missing the dimming mirrors, blindspot detection, doesn't give 360 degree except AX7L,no paddle shifters,no ventilated seats for passenger row. Are we making the right choice?
2:48 The omission of autodim rear view is for safety 😉 So that driver will not take away his eyes from road, and will not manually adjust the rear view mirror.. 🫣
Just bought a suv700 L wow amazing car and excellent value. My wife thinks she is the Queen of Sheba 😅. Great car guys and something for your competitors to think about and for us to enjoy 😂
This is such a big let down from the house of Mahindra, but I guess we were all expecting too much from them!! There has been a demand for some of the most basic fetures to be incorporated in the XUV but I guess Mahindra wasnt in a mood to listen. Some of the features that are missing are so basic that cars at half the price are offering them. Maybe its a gimmick by Mahindra to offer a few more basic features in 2025 and call it another update! Ventilated font seats is the only major update in this so called update, rest is all BS. List of missing features in my opinion that they should have offered at the very beginning of its launch in 2021/22. 1. Hydraulic hood 2. Auto dimming IRVM. 3.) Adjustable second row seating. 4.) 12 V charging outlet in the front for ease of use. 5.) Powered tailgate. I was going to book in 2023 but postponed and now with the update too its not a real update. Hope someone from Mahindra takes note, but I guess thats wishful thinking again!
Mahindra could've increased their 2.2L mHawk diesel engine's power figures to 210hp & around 500Nm, especially when their engine has that much of potential. 185hp seems like a decade old power figure..
@@robinjovarghese You're absolutely right, none of these cars you mentioned are as powerful as the 7OO. Fuel efficiency will drop but I wont mind for those extra horses 😉
Still I am not happy with the seats color. That was the issue with my XUV500 too. They could have choosen the brick color leather seating for this latest version atkeaat. So i have to wait for one more year. This was the reason i didn't upgraded to latest.
Tata being such a giant company still lacking at having their own petrol and diesel engine for their flagship cars….they’re not having 4 cylinder reliable engines for their compact and mid size suvs 🙄 Mahindra is the clear winner in all aspects than Tata…. They have proper lined up engines for their all kinda segment cars….1.2 ltr 4 cylinder engine. 1.5 ltr diesel engine,1.5 ltr petrol engine for marazo,2 & 2.2 ltr petrol and diesel engines for their flagship cars…..
Dear Autocar, It would’ve been great had you taken the pain to post videos in 2023 of the significant cons in the XUV700. I’m writing to Mahindra with a list of complaints, mostly tech-related. Clearly not a value for money vehicle. Very bad experience!
Lots of misses compared to Safari and these would not have costed much like auto dimming mirror, sun shades for 2nd row, slide option for 2nd row, AC controls for 2nd row, 360 degree camera for AX7 model etc
It still does not have a blind spot monitoring system. And Mahindra, when you design a new xuv again please don’t be inspired by the cheetah, because the car has a weird side profile

Not sure why Tata and Mahindra are shying away from introducing a hybrid petrol engine, which is the need of the hour. EVs is still a long way from full adoption due to lack of proper infrastructure and EVs are not completely green / clean as stated…
Because hybrid engine is costly. People couldn't afford it.
Look at suzuki vitara brezza & Toyota hycross selling in hybrid
