Speedpaints are soooo versatile. It's must have!
They are super cool, best thing since sliced bread for me - and i like sliced bread!
was waiting for this! nice job!
Hope it was the worth the wait! :):) Ive got the flying variety to do soon!
Can't wait for your Fellbeast video. Have the Pelennor Field's box to paint (once I get through my Mines of Moria!) Thank you for these, super helpful for a novice like me! Cheers.
Thank you for saying that the videos are helping :) It's a pleasure to hear - well technically read! Im hoping to get one more longer format video done first then move onto the Fellbeast so it will be a couple Pelennor box minis for the next videos - plus some fun short format ones too :)
Great tutorial, I'm always impressed by your painting skills and presentation style. Keep it up!
Thank you very much! And i do love the Name Twinkle Cave :)
Im getting a bit better with this video malarky, and trying to push myself each time - both with quality, presentation and also just getting used to the camera in front of me too :):)
I really like the monochrome style. It looks great!! Thanks for the ideas and inspiration.
Yeh its a nice subtle kind of style - would be quite interesting to see this on a fantasy zombie army! :):)
As angry as I get about you overcoming my issues painting models in my backlog, I really like your mini tutorials mid video (ie weathering powders) it makes loads of sense to put that in there rather than relying on previous knowledge
haha i can imagine seeing you watching a video and then slamming your first on the table and saying
"gosh tootin darn it. thats how i can get mine done - Margaret (or other appropriate name for the other half) pass me my paintbrush, i've got some backlog to paint!"
@@SwordsandBrushes you’re making a huge assumption my desk has fist slamming space. But otherwise largely accurate
🤣 great cameo by the witch king!
haha lad you like it - trying to put my acting skills into use lol
Im trying to add a bit of humour into the videos here and there as it just makes life a bit more entertaining! :):)
Fantastic work! Well done 👏👏
Thank you kindly! got to love the big bad - plus it was fun trying to do an evil voice for the intro haha
awesome! I learn so much from these videos!
Whoop!! Glad to hear that, it's so much fun to share my hobby with the world - and it's even crazier that i see people come to watch me do it! It really does feel like a nice hobby community is being created here!
Hope i can help more people and have even more fun creating these videos :):)
Another great video. The quality of your videos is absolutely top-notch, and I'm convinced you'll explode in popularity soon. Keep it up!
Thank you kindly! Glad you like them, i keep trying to add its and tweak bits to try and make them a bit better :)
You never know, that would be rand then i can share my hobby love to even more people that would be interested and i can help with painting ideas. :):)
But more importantly thank you and to everyone else that takes the time to come along and watch! :)
Love it!
The Witch king loves you too!
You deserve way more attention !
Thank you very much for saying that! I didn't start too long ago doing this youtube thing and it's been an awesome journey so far, is really nice chatting with people in the comments - hopefully get to meet some people at future gaming events.
But as long as people get something from the videos and enjoy the content - and my sense of humour then hopefully the word will spread :):)
Would love to see the fell beast tutorial 🥳
Depending on when i get the new Osgiliath starter set - I hope to make the Fellbeast, Rohan, Rangers and Gothmog done in the near future! :):)
Very nice my box should be arriving this week
I stabbed the Likebuttom with a Morgulblade, hopefully you dont die now... cuz i'll need more middle earth painting tutorials. :D
Well, time to get started on my Witch-King.
Love it! Greatly appreciate your effort! :D
I will be fine honest, i'm quite tall like an elf so elven magic is the answer :P
Hope you enjoy painting him up!
Will it be a one off piece or part of a larger force?
@@SwordsandBrushes he is going to lead my Angmar force :) im trying to implement and icy frosty look on them. What colour would you suggest?
ah cool idea!
You could do a similar method for the robes but then replace the greys with blues instead - but the do the belt highlights with greys instead.
What paint range are you using and i can try to provide some colour ideas :)
cant wait for your fellbeast tutorial :D
Me too!! haha
Another great video Chris. I just gave the Witch King on fell beast and some other minis to a younger fella looking to get into the game. Hopefully he catches your video for some painting tips. Thanks for posting.
Thank you as always :):) Well im sure it went to a good home and a great cause to get a new member of the hobby community! Feel free to let them kno and send them this way! :)
@@SwordsandBrushes Already done, bud!
Beautiful man. Defos gna weather up my witch king after seeing this.
Awesome! good luck with the weathering, will you do something similar or try a different colour on there also?
@@SwordsandBrushes Literally the exact same love how yours looks. Might add a orange rusty one on some of the metal if I'm feeling adventurous as mine is the old made to order witch king lol
that would be cool!! i think i will do the rusty option when i come round to painting some orcs :):)
I don’t have much speed in the painting process. Painting for me is a combination of relaxation und art, so I don’t hurry up. The result is important and the way to it.
I get you! I find painting very therapeutic and to do it for so many many hours each day - I must be the most calm person in the world haha
@@SwordsandBrushes I have 3 kids , 2 Dogs and 1 wife :D , so I don’t have much time to paint. But when I paint it is very therapeutic to me. Often I paint in the evening/nighthours and when I hear the cicadas in summertime, it feels like heaven :)
Evening and night time hours are my favourite - i'm most awake at that point and ready to paint - even if i already have been painting all day for work anyway haha
That summertime hobby idea does sound peaceful though! :)
Another great job! Well done!
Which Citadel equivalent of Dark Wood speed paint would be appropriate in your opinion?
Thank you kindly, glad that you enjoyed the video :) By the looks of the range, i would sway to Cygor Brown as a close match for Dark Wood :)
Really nice video and tips! Looking forward to the fell beast tutorial. Would be great if you could do morannon and mordor orc tutorials, as there are currently no useful ones on UA-cam and I really like your painting stile and explanations!
Thank you kindly, glad that you are finding use out of the video :) Yes he's on my desk waiting for his turn, as well as some Morannons and Rohan! - oh i think i have just given away a spoiler... :P
@@SwordsandBrushes Very nice!
Could you do any Thranduil Halls soon? Especially with the army painter speedpaint :)?
I can certainly add that to my list, not sure when it will fit into the plan - but i will certainly pencil it in - just need some minis for them!
The video after Boromir will be a Speed Paint one, in a style like i did for the Warrior of the Dead.
I do need to do more speed paint videos! :):)
How do I access your painting guides from Pinterest? I’d love to Give some of them a go! The domain it takes me to says it’s pending renewal or has expired? Would you be able to help?!
Ah yes I forgot I had a Pinterest account! Haha
Yes I updated my website name last week to swords and brushes. There will be a link in the video description that will take you there. And then if you go into the “shop” tab they are all there and you can download whatever you like from there :)
Once I have a bit of time I will do an refresh of the website as I have done a lot since I first created it - so it needs a refresh I think! - so much to do for just one person haha
Anyway I hope that they will do you well and you enjoy painting up some more miniatures! :):)
Thank you that’s perfect!
