Now that the video's 2 years old, I'm waiting for mine. I have a couple Arrmas with the Spektrum gear on board. The AVC only works after you pull the trigger. ;) Those drive unit bits can be a real pain! I had to use screwdrivers under mine too. At 11:03, did you actually suggest that the spring tension in the driveshaft helps hold the drive unit in place? hmmm A small flathead screwdriver between the shaft and the e-clip works way better than watching you struggle with those pliers. The safety D-gear only works when the gear on the shaft has the d-shape to it. When the set screw you just put in with no loc tite comes loose, it'll spin on the shaft. I still can't see, on any of the Arrma cars with that drive setup, how one can get a truly proper mesh as the spur gear's not supported on both bearings. Kind of a shot in the dark, take your best guess situation there. I never get down on anyone who makes videos, but between watching you struggle, when we weren't struggling to hear you over leaf blowers or whatever that was, or looking at the top of your head, that was painful. lol sorry man. But hey, I suppose we all do our own thing. If you have fun bashin' that thing around, that's all that really matters in the end. I can't wait to get mine!
I have a big rock which has the same motor and also 100 amp ESC. It comes with a stock 15t gear. If I also run a 20t and in gear would that be OK or will it over heat motor
Got a question, Hope you respond. I replaced my Pinion and I tightend it all the way down where you could not move forward or backwards, You could only move it with the gearing to side to side. I took it out for a test drive and got everything tuned up to what I wanted it to be, The Pinion gear just keeps coming lose and flying off. Do I need to glue it? Or what do I need to do ? Thanks
Hopefully, I'm not too late but you don't want to glue it persay. For the set screw just apply some Loctite or any medium thread locker and let it cure for an hour or two before running the truck again. hope this helps
When I first started watching I thought you had a nitro Vorteks and I was like, “holy cow,” then I realized you’re deaf and didn’t realize your Gardner was two feet away from you. You couldn’t smell his exhaust?
