The only good thing about traxxas is parts availability. I usually buy a few spares of common parts that break right upfront so I have them already.

I don't think Arrma gift their cars to KT like other UA-camrs. Arrmas loss because I agree, what a great advert for their products.

That is exactly what happened to mine. Shock end broke in exactly the same place. Just one though. Only I didn't even jump it. Just did some hefty flips by accident. Great car though.

I ordered the vorteks on Monday and received it to my place earlier today. What a coincidence! My first serious RC yet...my previous car being a T2M pirate booster (35km/h). I just came in from work, battery's charged, gotta go out and test drive it :)

my vorteks rear trail arms snapped off after sending it off of a skatepark ramp once. "Tough" it reckons.
Love my Vorteks, I've found that 100c batteries make a huge difference.

Tbh vortex and big rock are pretty dang similar by chassis and suspension

Big Rock is longer and has taller shock towers and shock length, 3s Typhon and Big Rock are the same except for body and hex size
I have both and Like the other comments, BR has long wheelbase chassis and longer shocks. The Vorteks has an updated radio and esc. So yeah, they are quite different.
Dont turn up the punch level or you'll rip apart the back axles
Dang Kev, that Vortek(spelling?) seems to be tough enough. Handled a lot of abuse before breaking.
Suggestion for the 203 car you should use a Dodge Viper body because they are super aerodynamic
On the stock gearing I got 56mph with a 150c 9000mah 3s powerhobby

I got 56 feet do the sky but I didn't record it so I have no proof. My English is bad
I have an older vorteks from a few years ago, with the brushed motor. It is 2wd and I swapped it out to have a brushless motor. It looks a bit different than the new ones for sure.

I just bought this car and while driving it around for the first time one of the shocks broke, I was not doing any jumps. I don't want to get the stock ones again because they seem to be really weak. So my question is what shock would you suggest to replace the stock ones with?
The hobby shop I bought said they are breaking in the middle. All of them.
There's a super sized ones that's supposed to be "tougher" you have to buy.

Dang, the front of the box had me thinking it was a Team Corally Kronos XP for a moment there.. I got one recently and it has been an absolute ripper. Tough to even control on 6s, but such a blast it just makes a smile. Hope to see one on here sometime, although I’m sure it’s a huge long shot

With the 203mph car, give it a good check over before sending it.
I was also wondering about putting some short pieces of fuel tubing on the shaft of the shocks, it'll help the car not to bottom out and will also have some give in it, basically it'll act as another spring. I don't know what length to use but it should help.
