I’m thinking about getting this. I have the 3s blx granite with Traxxas receiver and TSM. It’s a must have for this and my granite. Stable, balanced and very very well on the handling
Great vid, agree with what you said on price. I think they could have included alloy shocks instead of AVC which isn't needed on a 4wd stadium truck IMHO for the extra money
It's a pretty nice lil truck. Shocks def need a tune on em. Got a bounce in the front that needs to go away. But love the review. Your the one I like to watch first for an honest real review. Thanks.
I love mine. I have given it a thorough beating and the only things I have broken so far are just a couple plastic pieces, like the turning knuckle and the wheelie bar. I bent the motor plate but replaced it with something far better. I think it's well worth the price, and I got it for around the same price as the rest of the 3s lineup from Arrma. With a couple modifications, I'm sure you can make it do whatever you want - stronger springs, softer/larger wheels, speed gears can make it do anything you can imagine with a 1/10. I think this one is a win and a staple to whoever wants or has one.
Here in New Zealand it's the same price as the other Arrma 3s BLX range. I've ordered the Red one. I already have the Big Rock and wanted another Arrma 3s so timing is perfect. My Big Rock has survived where my JLB Cheetah and DHK Maximus couldn't. Arrma tough baby! It's going to be great!
@@V8chump the input and ring gear as well as the spur is plastic. The planetary gears and output gears are metal just like all the v3 3S and 4S vehicles.

Even though I have a Big Rock I'm loving this little beast. Was saving for the Xmaxx or 8S Kraton. But these little BLX are fun other than I'm on my 3rd BLX motor from bearing failures.
Get the xmaxx trust me....I went from a granite 3s blx to a xmaxx and it’s so much more capable everywhere you bash! Loved the granite and still have it but it’s been collecting dust lol
Stop wasting money on new motors and just replace the bearings. Its not that hard. Just be careful with the screws on the outside of the motor. They're standard instead of metric unlike everything else on the truck. Also, put tape over the little hole at the bottom of the slipper housing to keep dirt out.
@@ThaBootyBandit I actually did that with my first broken motor with Jim's Bearing. Horizon is good about sending me replacement without sending my old back. But I use that as my backup until the replacement comes.
You’re lucky to have a beautiful track like that nearby. I think the controllability could be resolved by mounting granite or big rock tires. But i like how its more athletic rather than a top heavy granite.
It took so much beating that I think it was praying to go into a skate park instead 😆 Still, it's indeed very fast and with that lower standing it seemed a short course 🤔 Very Good 👌

I've got the other 4 3s cars and they are all excellent in their own way and the Vorteks looks great too but I don't think I need to have it as well. I might still change my mind though!

If you can afford it...get this, it's not really much different to the Big Rock, but it does have slightly better Electronics, and maybe a little better looking
I am with you. In a way it’s almost hard to justify the extra $200 for 6s. Then the Granite flys better. I am not sure where this fits. It’s got proline tires. A plus. Radio too. To me it’s the ultimate Big Rock. It’s worth the money. With bigger tires it’s perfect
Hello Tomley. Out of the Big Rock and Vorteks, which do you feel is the overall more durable and better allrounder for all terrain? And is there any other rc you'd rec?
I have the Typhon 3s and Granite 3s, and haven't been super impressed with either as far as handling goes. Not sure if it's the remote that was included (might be resolved with the new radios they include now), or poor servos, but the response just seemed not very good and steering seems sloppy on both. Also, seemed like the punch level was way down, especially on the Granite, as it seemed to have to build up to the power. That said, this vehicle seems like a blast, and SUPER durable (as one would expect from Arrma, never had any complaints there). You certainly put it through its paces, tons of horrible landings, and it held up remarkably well. I would rather pay more for a 3s system that can handle the limited power, than buy a 6s vehicle that seems like it's tearing itself apart (My E-Revo I bought less than a month ago already killed the spur and rear drive cups). I may have to give Arrma another try.
I have a feeling that the new upgrades and price increase for the 3s line will make the mega line a more fair option. Prior, there was almost no reason on picking up the mega version when the 3s versions weren’t that far away in price. That is IF the megas stay in the same price range as they are now.
