    Hi Leo.
I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart. You don't know what your videos have done to my life. I found you in 2015-16, when I was drowning in depression and bad life skills, trying to drown myself in addiction. My mother was badly sick, and I was doing a small job. And amidst all of this I used to watch your videos every Sunday from start to end. You said "chew on the wisdom until you've taken all it's juice out". And so I did. For me the wisdom was the stuff that came out of your mouth. You taught me what self-deception is and how to work on it. That was truly powerful for me.
Fast forward to 2023. I'm a completely changed man. I've lost weight, made my life better. Mom is better. My old friends can't recognize me physically and emotionally as well. They say I hardly resemble that old version of myself. And a big amount of the credit goes to you Leo. You deserve all the happiness in life. You sir, are a true teacher.
Thank you very very much. Your work means a lot to me. Love, respect, and best wishes.

Hey, Leo! You should know. I’ve watched all of your episodes, many of them I’ve watched even 3-5 times. Some even more. That said, I think this video has to be one of your best teachings. This all lines up perfectly with the feelings I’ve been having about happiness. It’s time to relax, and bask in the love of creation all around us. That’s got to be one of the highest possible teachings that I don’t think gets enough attention.

I was chronically ill for 6 years. I had trouble digesting food and constant syncope. My quality of life was very low and at one point I was bed ridden. I made my health my number one priority above work, school, socializing, personal goals, etc. I did this for 3 years and found a way back to full health. All my will: mentally, emotionally, and spiritually was dedicated to being healthy again and I fortunately found a way back to health. My heart goes out to anyone with a chronic illness because I know the toll it has. I personally found an experimental treatment that had side effects and wasn’t perfect, but with careful use along with other tools I was able to re-balance my bodies homeostasis. Leo I’ve watched many of your videos and can tell the dedication to understanding you have. This will serve you extremely well with figuring out your health, I know you will find answers and tools to improve your quality of life! Much love ❤

@@arpitbinjwa840 I had a form of dysautonomia, and digestive issues can be caused by an array of things. So what I did may not work for you. My advice is hone your intuition and discernment. Any good doctor knows that the patient will tell them what’s wrong with them not the other way around. Trust what you know about the illness you’re experiencing. I saw doctors for 5 years with no answers, I spoke to friends and family and got no answers, I only got ideas and opinions that I felt could be right or were definitely wrong. I eventually learned to trust and validate my own experience. Then use your discernment on what you need to do to fix your health, your own research about your symptoms will tell you more than I can, because you’ll know what’s important and pertains to you. Definitely ask others their opinions but ultimately listen to your own intuition and follow that. I want to point out I was sick for 5 years and then spent about 2.5 years healing. I didn’t get better in just a few months, I stayed dedicated to it and continually increased my quality of life until i no longer experienced symptoms. Honestly I just constantly tried new things until I found something that helped. Elimination diets help pinpoint what food is best for you to eat. I also believe everyone’s treatment will be different and tailored to their needs. When you find what works, advocate for yourself and make it a priority. Regardless of how others feel. This comment would get really long if I listed everything I did to get better. If you think your issues are nervous system related I’ll go into details on how I treated my symptoms. ❤️

One of the biggest ways I've come across to Happiness , is to have a deep understanding that there's a huge distinction between being " Happy " , and then maintaining your Basline of Peace throughout your day , which means living a lot of the times with Discipline, Integrity , and having a deep sense of Trust and Follow Through with your Intentions . This means that you don't really depend on " Happiness " anymore , as you see that " Happiness " is just a fluctuating feeling that comes and goes , but Discipline , Integrity , and Peace, is something you can actually count on , because you count on YOURSELF to be BE who you are REGARDLESS of if you're " Happy " , and then the true Happiness ( Peace ) actually starts to come . Great video Leo ! Thanks for being one of the people that inspires me to also post videos and help others on their journey as well ! - Francis 🙏

I've been watching your videos since I was 15 and I recently turned 21. Something that has been quite striking to me when experiencing the world first hand is that 95% of people are not entirely interested in cultivating the good life. People pretty much peruse social status, pleasure, or basically other things that are just the default way they have been living since they were 12 years old. The worst thing is it's really easy to get wrapped up in these types of things if you are not careful, and then after a while you start to become depressed and it's not entirely clear why because it is a gradual change. Thank you for being a person who has their head screwed on strait and is actually talking sense to me rather than whatever it is most people are telling me.

I've misunderstood your teachings about meditation and used it in the wrong way, tried to run away from myself, which backfired pretty badly. This is truly juicy information here. Especially the list of personal questions pertaining to happiness. It’s a huge relief and reassurance to know that it’s ok to dislike things, that you can’t always be compassionate or happy in life, that you certainly can’t be happy unconditionally. You can’t just meditate your way through or toward everything. I used to think this myself but struggled with it endlessly. I felt spiritually wrong for it. That’s why I love that Leo encourages us to validate what’s true for ourselves in our own direct experience instead of blindly believing what some person or guru tells us. What’s true and right for one isn’t necessarily true and right for another. He even mentions that maybe meditation isn’t for everyone. That’s a fact I never knew existed. I won’t give up on meditation yet, not unless I become aware that it’s simply not for me. This episode was very valuable and freeing. Thanks dude, absolutely WONDERFUL work here! This video goes a very long way.

what a fantastic episode. You stress exactly the point that „my“ meditation teacher always warns about: Dont do the technique (whichever it is) for the sake of the technique, like counting breaths endlessly. But only use the technique as a kicker into a relaxed open minded state. and as soon as that occurs, he advises to immediately drop the technique and just soak up the inner peace and joy.
As for the happiness, I was kind of surprised that you didnt mention the relation between expectations and results. Happinesses occurs for me when results exceed or at least match expectations. Results are hard to control. But - also thanks to many of the wonderful techniques you share - I find it more and more easy to lower and drop my expectations - which in return increases the probability of happiness. When I manage to wake up expecting nothing, come what may, it will be a great day. which will then teach me to be thankful and even lower my expectationsfor the next day :). so over time I can kind of brainwash myself into happiness. In German we have a saying for that. Erwarte nichts, und Du wirst nicht enttaeuscht.

Are you saying that meditation isn’t the #1 habit for personal development?
From my experience the more I don’t want to meditate, the more I need to meditate (because my psyche is addicted to stimulation). My mind gives me ten thousand reasons why there’s better things for me to be doing than meditating right now. Then once I sit down, I feel extremely irritable for about the first 8-10 minutes. Then there’s suddenly a shift, where my mind goes quiet, and it’s as though the biggest weight in the world has been lifted off of my shoulders
It feels like the need for external stimulation has momentum, but then once the pond settles, the need is gone.

I can see in this video that you have evolved very much from back when you were really into meditation. It shows you advanced in the spiral into more yellow territory, and it reinforces the idea that we should be constantly evolving.
I, too, tried meditation, and I haven't been able to enjoy it, and over time it just made me more dissatisfied because I thought that was the way to go for everyone, so thank you for having the humility to admit that it just wasn't made for you.
I have the same personality type (INTP) And I related to a lot of your personal qualities, but also didn't connect to some of them, it just goes to show that everybody is different and has different needs.
For a long time (and still to this day) I thought I had to achieve big goals to be happy, but when you talked about ambition, it really opened my mind to the possibility that my actual goals might not fit my level of ambition. Thank you for that.
Overall, this episode inspired me to truly think about what I want from life, and to think about my priorities in this limited lifespan.
Going back to personality types, I think you made an important point about having to constantly learn. I might not realize it in the moment, but looking back, I can see that the times I was most happy were times I was learning new stuff. I'm currently starting a new job after 6 years of working at the same company, and I can already see that all the learning that comes with it puts a smile on my face everyday.
Anyway, that was a long comment, I hope it didn't discourage you from reading it till the end, and I just want you to know I'm truly grateful for this episode and all the foundation you've built it on. ❤

Looking after my health and enjoying a health body that feels and looks good. Just sitting quietly and resting, just thinking to my self. Organising and cleaning my environment so it's orderly and calm. And naps; I LOVE naps 🥰. Life is good. How can I not be happy with all of this

Absolute beauty and wisdom. Relate to so so much about what you saying. Especially about solitude. And not being able to cope with unpredictable loud noises. Introvert. Chronic fatigue autoimmune disease. And needing to come to acceptance and self-compassion around that. You are a great strength in my life, you help me like a spiritual sensei. You have helped me overcome mental health problems. I am the strongest I've ever been in my whole life. I had a spiritual awakening 3-years ago associated with your work I was very consumed in and writing notes continuously and learning about myself and applying and integrating. You also saved me from a domestic violence relationship, because you told me the difference between Love and love. And how it is powerful to set these people free from your life and allow them to learn lessons (I am powerless over this)
I also prefer doing or contemplating, then sitting in meditation. I love you with higher love, I believe we have met through consciousness. Xxx SkyRiver

Yo, Leo, shopping on Amazon in the comfort of my beautiful home and having it delivered same day is extremely joyful to me.
I appreciate all the drivers (even the ones that deliver my packages to the wrong address)…They work hard
Watching my cats sleep, bathe, or pretty much do anything….quite Zen. Feeding them as well.
The smell and sound of coffee brewing…
I, too, am my best alone. I imagine if most people allow themselves alone time…they’ll realize this truth also.
I used to love the scent of a freshly lit cigarette…I miss the act of smoking sometimes..but glad I placed it aside.
    A woman’s freshly shampooed hair.
Thought I’d contribute to your excellent lecture.
Perhaps we’ll meet one day. Much respect.

I suffered from low energy and I used to sleep a lot. It is true that I was depressed but the change from back then is astounding. I can keep my concentration for many hours now and I find myself way smarter (in terms of brain power) and athletic. My strength increased significantly too. I became an extrovert and I'm now more focused on my objectives than ever. I'm not sure about genetics and differential equations anymore. I was very disappointed in my studies and conclusions but I willed it so hard and I put myself in so many difficult situations that I constantly found myself under stress. I was always outside my area of comfort and being in bed 16 hours a day actually helped me a lot. You helped me a lot too. Cheers

I'm so glad that you brought up that the usefulness of meditation can be questioned. Now that this wishy washy mindfulness thing has become some sort of scientistic (no error here, I don't mean scientific, I mean science as a religion) good for everything belief system and meditation its primary method, it is hard to openly question meditation. For myself, I'm glad I noticed very early on that I don't need it, so I haven't wasted my time on it. I don't need meditation for reducing anxiety, getting better sleep, making the mind calmer or something like that. I'm a calm person and I sleep very well. Not much anxiety either. Every now and then I post a comment somewhere in social media questioning the belief that meditation is always good for everybody and the mere idea usually sparks fierce opposition. Meditation has become such a holy word in the West that trying to bring it under closer scrutiny is met like a declaration of war.

INTP! I freaking knew it! The struggle is real. I appreciate you going into depth about spirituality and meditation and knowing that I'm not the only one who finds it extremely boring and impossible to do. It's actually made me more miserable than anything chasing this illusion that's not true and psychedelics have given me more information than any sitting still like a dumb animal ever could. Also the part about being bored out of your mind without having something to learn something new constantly is dead on I actually prefer your channel and listen while I do my work my mindless work. Actually the dopamine rushes have a long term impact on a person as they lower the base line of happiness. So chasing dopamine releasing activities puts you in a worse state than you were before and you will need more pleasurable activities to put you back to your base level. Great book from Dr Anna Lembke: Dopamine Nation

I’ll elaborate there was this Forward Party event a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet Andrew Yang and they were refusing to give me time off to do it. In addition to that a coworker that was hostile to me and made anti-Semitic remarks I got into an argument with them and they were trying to get us both in trouble instead of just him. That’s when I said these people neither honor or appreciate me after 1 year of working there. I marched right up to the manager and said I resign effective immediately.
