Scott and Alex (Havok) absorb cosmic energy and then redirect it. The older brother, Gabriel, can actually manipulate energy to make force fields and fly and such.

I've personally never liked the "punch dimension eye blasts" power. It's such an odd and nonsensical power to have and it makes him seem less cool then he actually is. Like, why can't he just have laser beams, it's a lot more simpler and just as much, if not more useful than optic blasts. It also makes his visor/glasses more practical because laser beams have more of an effect and cause a lot more damage than a punch blast. But nah, let's give him eye portals to the "Punch Dimension". Powers usually develop either during puberty or in response to an extremely stressful experience. There are some rare exceptions though. For Scott, his power activated when the parachute he shared with his brother caught fire as the plane they were on with their parents was burning. He used his power to slow their fall but sustained a traumatic brain injury that prevents him from controlling his power.
