James Marsden as Cyclops was a great casting choice in the Original Fox X-Men movies but at the same time he deserves more screen time and be a second main character hopefully he’ll be like that in the MCU for Deadpool and Wolverine and Avengers Secret Wars
Man I love to see James Marsdn as Scott again hopefully the MCU start the X-Men with its 5 founding members of Scott Jean Hank Warren and Bobby. Hopefully they dont turn Iceman gay fuck it

Things the MCU needs to get right about his powers.
1. He doesn’t need to touch his visor to fire his optic blast.
2. He can adjust the width of his beam to be as wide as his peripheral vision or as thin as a needle and everything in between.
3. He is a master of ricochet, able to take out a dozen enemies in a single ricochet blast.
How does he activate his laser then? Face muscles? Dangerous when you are talking to someone...

@MonsterVerse_scientist depending on how you perceive it, he either has natural enhanced spatial awareness or he has the ability to calculate mentally the angles in which his blast bounces off objects much like captain America with his shield. Or simply put: he aim eye lazer good

@MonsterVerse_scientist exactly. A "power" that's not actually a superhuman power is that they both possess excellent tactical skills and team leadership qualities. That's is why cyclops in the comics is often written as the leader of the X-Men and Cap is always the leader of the Avengers except for that one off rare occasion where he defected to Hydra.
@@gordonchen9510 Super true bro, I have never read comics but i imagine Cap doing the beam-deflected move he did with iron man in Avengers 2012, but one problem for that is that Cyclops' beam is pure kinetic force from a dimension in the comics, not heat or just light as they have shown in X-Men movies, so Cap shouldn't be able to hold still as the beam impacts his shield, unless his back is against a building but even then it would still squash him, but this move is 100% possible with movie Cyclops instead

The movies keep getting his powers wrong, it's Optic Percussive Blast, NOT heat vision. It doesn't burn, it obliterates at a molecular level. Also James Marsden was a perfect casting, the FOX-Men just wasted Cyclops to stroke off Wolverine.

@@enderland18 and its not even based off the comics, it just takes random plot lines from random issues from uncanny xmen, and the original xmen, in random order, and switches things up to make a 20 minute episode. 97 pacing is horrible its all over the place. Also its more of a soap opera than the xmen.
Interesting fact: Bryan Singer originally had Chris Potter aka voice of Gambit to audition for Cyclops for the first X-Men film although Chris expressed he never wanted that role because he doesn't want to go through the entire time wearing the dark visor. After they've casted James Marsden as Cyclops, Chris was relieved and was hoping he would be called in to play live action Gambit but sadly that never came up.
Fun Fact: Cyclops eyes are actually just portals to another dimension where only that red energy exists and is distributed through.

@X A Jr I don't mean to be rude and correct you but it isn't heat related at all. The energy he emits is purely concussive force. So yes in a sense they do act as lasers but not really since they don't produce any heat (of course the warping of metal due to rapid bending does produce heat). This was all confirmed in a few comics but I can't remember which ones.

I know we're talking about how Cyclops didn't get enough respect in the movies, but let's talk about how they've butchered Rogue's character and rarely acknowledged Gambit in the movies, but to put him in a mediocre X-Men movie like Origins Wolverine.

I don't understand how a character who has been a pillar of the X-Men since their founding is so neglected in the movies. To this day, in the comics, Cyclops is one of the central figures of mutants. In the movies it's this waste. I hope that in the MCU they put him in the spotlight that he always had and deserved. With Marsden playing him.
Maybe because Wolwerine being more popular in the movies and poor writers.
@@jesusmunera2855 Wolverine has his place and is an amazing character. But Cyclops is also fascinating, and it really takes a good writer to explore his potential. The Phoenix saga was built on the love of Scotty / Jean Gray (yes, I "watched" the Claremont/Byrne saga) and frankly I haven't seen a writer up to the task to decently adapt it on screen.

Having him killed off was a dick move by Fox but James Marsden understandingly left the film series due to being cast in superman returns because of Bryan Singer.

One of the biggest things about cyclops is he was trained to use relatively simple power EXTREMELY well. Hope they showcase that better instead of the newbie trope.
So sad that we'll have to wait for Cyclops done right in the MCU since Marvel is still busy with The Multiverse Saga since Marvel Studios got the X-Men movie rights along with the Fantastic Four back to Marvel when Disney buy Fox rather than having Fox give up the rights.

Man Fox messed up James Marsden's Cyclops they even let Logan steal Jean from him
But even with Tye's version of Cyclops, they didn't let him shine as the leader of the X-Men. If not Wolverine, they center around Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique and then every other characters even Cyclops get sidelined for her. 🤦♂️

Why doesn’t his optic blasts just blast the dark glasses off his face? When he shuts his eyes, why don’t the optic blasts just rip through his eyelids ?
The glasses are made of a special material (Ruby-Quartz), and he is immune to his own powers (that is why sometimes he use his hands to contain his eyes).

About the Magneto case, is a very good question, you should ask the writers. It would be cool to see in a issue, very creative (and evil) of you to think on that.
In some stories that link Scott with Sinister, the last one (not Charles) gave him the glasses before Charles found him. I don't like this retcom, but in this case, why don't Sinister ever used this plan?
Cyclops was and always will be a major disappointment in all the movies!
