Great video, every day's a schoolday. A couple of questions though: why are alternate swathes cut, unlike other harvesting ops which are cut side-by-side; and what is the purpose of the drums at the front of the trailers that look like binding wheels without the tines? Thanks!
Because he splits the two rows and puts one each on the windrow that was already cut. Look at the 5 minute mark and you will see him doing this. The drums on the planter pull the cane and drops it into the rows.
I used to work at J&L, Camcoe, Honiron where these machines and wagons were made. Then I once serviced them they were great machines of their time. I’m glad to see this video you did an awesome job.

Yes, it will regenerate. The farmers usually let it do that for about about 3 years and then they plow and re-plant it. The quality of the cane degrades after it regrows too many times.
Greg Bowlan He drops two rows of cane behind the machine and then skips two rows. Then cuts the two rows he skipped and puts one row on each of the previously cut heaps. You can see this at the 5 minute mark.
Not being in the sugarcane business, why do they call this "Seed Sugarcane"? Are they going to re-plant it somewhere else OR they going to take it to the mill to be processed ? Please advise......
The sugarcane being cut here is being loaded into sugarcane planters. It is used to grow future crops of cane. It is laid down in a row and new sugarcane grows from each joint on a stalk of sugarcane. If you are interested I think i have a video explaining the whole process in my playlist.

Inmate 1945 yes, I think if you play on hard mode you eventually need to replant. Which is how it is in real life.

From my knowledge it grows from chutes? much like a potato, the crop doubles as the seed
