Silaging with Claas and Kuhn MergeMaxx 950 - Thickest Crop of Grass EVER!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 лип 2020
- AJ Tatters are the contractors, and here they have a VERY thick crop of grass, I'm told it's the third year since seeding. Seems that this year has been a good year for grass, around here. It certainly slowed down the merger - I wonder if it slowed the chopper? I didn't notice any slowing down, myself . . .

Excellent video well done top job top team awesome thanks 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Glad you enjoyed it, Phil.
Great video showing us the action without music, the way I like to see farm machinery working. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it and many thanks!
Nice spot Alan, it is the thickest crop I’ve seen!
It sure is!
Interesting seeing the farm ground in other parts of the country. I've not traveled the country to the east of the Mississippi a lot. It's amazing what grows when you have rain.
Indeed, the grass has been loving it.
Love a merger , so many diff options on sward width depending on the cut / crop .
Very true.
Interesting to see a merger in that heavy crop. You normally see them in light crops of get dry grass. I wonder in time, will mergers replace rakes?
Hugh, mergers will surely replace rakes. The big manufacturers can't stand farmers using the same equipment for too long. They need to sell, sell and sell!
Excellent vid. Cheers.
Glad you enjoyed it. Matthew.
Something satisfying about watching that merger do its magic
Yes, it leaves things nice and tidy!
0000000000000000
Lovely cut, looks like a nice bit of land
It was, though quite high in the fells.
Great video from Spain
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great to see how things are done in the UK.
Many thanks Sharon.
I enjoyed the video watching the machines pick up the silage would not like to have the drive of one of those machines great video
Glad you enjoyed it, probably take some getting used to!
Amazing video my friend Big like from Romania ❤👍👏❤
Thank you! Cheers!
That forage is the definition of "Tonnage" . Good video. Is the reason it is put in windrows because the moisture is too high?
Not really, though it does help conditioning. Reason is to make it easier and quicker to pick up.
Nice work Alan, Reminds me of one farm, who's grass is most years like this if not thicker and the chopper going much slower than this one.
Very true but be careful you don't fall into the "My Dad has a bigger one" syndrome!
@@balmesh Hence I put 'reminds me of' not we had thicker rows than that, was trying to steer clear of certain words!
Yus!
Good night what a win row!
Indeed!
Kuhn mergemaxx is perfect for these big 20+ acre fields ‘ it certainly keeps that forager busy not so quick with these massive swaths ‘ don’t think I’ve seen a first cut like that in a while ‘ past few years I’ve noticed a leanness in the grass at 1st cut’ great video 👍
Thank you Steven. That swathe certainly slowed down the merger . . .
Nice video Alan, some great machines there. Greets Stefan
Many thanks, Stefan! Agree!!
Nice video and big crop
Big thanks!
Pěkné hrázky udělali 👍
Thank you!
Nice video like the Kuhn makes short word with the rows stay safe 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🚜🚜🚜🚜😷👍
Thanks Sandy.
What kind of grass are they harvesting? Great Video.
Answered that already.
Cracking good crop, and great equipment. 1st cut has been very poor here with the drought less than half the normal
Oh, that's tough. We had nearly drought way back in April, but it turned ( up here, anyway).
Big action here!
Thanks Ben, indeed!
big rows love it good video
Big thanks.
wow! , what a crop!
Indeed it was!
Très belle vidéo bravo 👏
Merci!
very nice. only saw such big ones made out of hay
Thanks very much!
Serious crop of grass and a fine silage outfit
Very much so . .
Best part starts at 3:30 .
Indeed!

Super video
Many thanks.
Woh amegic and power full 😯😮
Indeed!
Those dry stone walls look ancient ..WOW
Many of them are VERY ancient!
Won't be going short of winter feed with silage like that never seen rows of grass so big will you be doing a second-second cut or just a 3rd cut
It's not mine, Matthew but I'm betting there'll be a second cut!
waaw superb one
Thanks!
That's some swath, is that 1st cut?
Probably.
Nice footage Alan, it is thick grass for collecting.Cheers.
It sure is - thickest I've seen!
Привіт! Дуже класно,на яку ви камеру знімаєте відео?👍👍👍
Всілякі, переважно Panasonic VXF1
@@balmesh Дякую,я собі придбав Canon EOS M50!
It has been a better year for grass here now there is rain more often, but haven't seen anything like that. Merger seems to do a good job if it doesn't slow the chopper with that thick swath, with certain types of older rakes it would just curl up into a sausage and be very difficult to pick up
It didn't seem to slow the chopper - maybe the MergeMaxx is better at fluffing it up?
The size of those rows 😱 , think I wouldn’t have gone full width !.
Ah, but the chopper was coping brilliantly!
Merger makes rows look bigger than they actually are
balmesh it may of looked like it but what was the quality of it
Some sward of grass.Chopper seems comfortable.I would think it over powered for grass.Probably need a heavy maize crop to really load it. Lovely video.JD looks ready for whole crop.
Yes, indeed, but it shouldn't have been there. It was uploaded in a hurry after a long day out.
Beautiful country , stone walls are kept in great condition .
Yes they are - on some farms!
This is very interesting especially because I'm from the US we usually rake the inside and the go do the end rows
Sounds good to me!
Great job camera man! I would have followed her too😁😁
Thanks John. I always try and follow up strange noises - for the sake of the viewer, who must wonder what's going on!
balmesh and pretty lasses
Can't say no to that!

Wow, what a swath!!
Certainly was!
Great video. The merger had no problem with the grass. Good shot of the John Deere harvester. Was it owned by another contractor?
Which John Deere harvester? I don't remember one in this video.
@@balmesh There was one at the very end of the video
balmesh I think they mean the one at 4:06
8600i at 4:10
Yes, it shouldn't have been there!!
Amazing.... High - tech Agricultural machines
It is indeed amazing!
I saw that Deere you slipped in there. Don’t know how I feel about that. I grew up with Deere, my wife used to work at Deere, ,but now she works at the parent company of Claas, AGCO.
It slipped itself in! The clip was uploaded in error when it was included in a batch! Didn't hurt so I left it.
Actually CLAAS is a family owned business and independent of AGCO.
Nice 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Do you think our 'lock-down' had anything to do with perhaps letting it grow for longer before the first cut. With the N.West hit so bad I know several farmers who have had tractor drivers and their families"isolate" for a period, it all makes a difference to the farmer, especially when it is not a particularly large farm.
I haven't noticed a difference here . . . .
We had our thickest first cutting hay as long as I can remember this year in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Yes, it's been a good year for grass - so far - this year.
It's been a terrible year for grass in south-eastern New Brunswick, Canada.
Great!
Thanks.
What grass is that? Italian ryegrass??
Don't know - probably.
Muito linda a máquina caramba!
Thanks!
Hi good work thumb's yup 👍😃
Thanks for the visit!
OK, so let's make a video of this awesome machinery cutting a massive amount of hay... Hey wait a minute, There's a chick on an ATV! to hell with the machinery!
Glad you agree!
Checking her phone while skipping along at 25MPH
Photographer is a genius .
What camera do u use ?
Allsorts! Mostly old. Mostly Panansonic.
Why the class wasnt on d rake and the fendt on the trailer idk
Why not?
Because the Claas tractor isn’t mine that’s why the fendt is on the merger
What's the frame on the front of the fendt?
Em que cidade/ país foi feito esse vídeo, sou brasileira e gostaria de saber
We don't make videos in cities but in the country. At the foot of the video it tells you where made.
What is the benefit of the belt merger over a rake.??
Read the description and watch the video . . .
balmesh I did. Didn’t answer my question though. . .
Sorry, I mis-directed you. It was the earlier video of same outfit (Tatters) that demonstrated two of the ways this can be used, all to the middle or all to one side.
@@kmcca08 less soil & stone contamination, better quality feed..
Was ist es vorne am traktor dran?
Don't know - probably linkage for the front mower.
Don’t know about the quality of the feed but there’s a lat of it.
True!
Nice to see good equipment and bad girl on the quad good job Alan see you in the next video 👍
Yes, thanks - but bad girl? She was just enjoying herself harmlessly . .
There must have been around a million pound's worth of kit running around that field, no wonder farming has become so expensive these days
Very true.
I live on a farm in New York and I cant believe those rock walls theres so many
Very good!
Wish i was weedwacker
string salesmen.
Proper grass!....use machines to the max.
Definitely.
Why so slow?
Is that the fastest you can go with it?
Try reading the description and title?
That’s an average crop for Australian conditions
Show us!
Ok
@@balmesh his question is proof he's never put up anything that heavy
Macchina straordinaria
Many thanks.
Hustý shrnovač 👍
Cheers!
In Finland we do second crop novadays
We, too, and third, fourth and I've seen once a fifth!
We do three times and we make the silage bales
It’s a pity the trailers are small, in uk with restrictions.much bigger in Ireland. Makes no sense
Nonsense! You obviously do not look at what's in front of you, as the gateways are too small, and the lanes even smaller!
came here for the silage, stay for the girl ^^
:)
i have neve seen a winrow that big
No, it is a monster!
Jeez, I bet that made the chopper work at optimum performance.
Yes, too true!
Biçilen otun ismi nedir
Thank you!
Get a helmet on ya girl ya. Too many quad riders have regretted not being kitted out with the safety gear before going for a spin!!⛑🥽🧤🚁🚦🏂🚴♂️🛺♿️🏁🇨🇭🆘🛏
Thanks - although hardly any quad drivers have helmets here, and I've never seen or heard of an accident.
What country
The best!!!
😍 nice
Thank you! Cheers!
That machine leaves nothing behind. No waste. But to make dry hay bales, I don't know. May make the dry hay into dust. Then, lot of waste !
Not really good for hay, as you say, but first class for silage.
Senkyou
You're welcome.
At least the torrential rains did something good...
Yes, the grass loved it!
Jasus my haybob looks miserable
Cost a lot less though :)
I’d love to get my baler in that swath .
Yes, that'd sort out the twitches!
Seems a waste of time and money all these machines. Surely tractor pulls the cutter, which blows the grass into the trailer being towed behind. Worked for me for a long time!
It worked for me, years ago. But it was SLOW ! And we only had 30 cows!
Как я понел там земля каменистая они собрали на территории освободили площадь построили забор вечный
Just about right! But hundreds of years ago!
Boa tarde
Obrigado!
He has a big hay baler
Thanks for watching!
Thats what you call a swath
Yes, indeed!
