  • I bought a G-Shock Mudmaster GWG-2000 when they first came out and subsequently sold it as it just wasn't getting worn.
    Find out why I've just bought another one!

    Comparing apple watch with a G-Shock is silly. To me there is no ''soul'' in those smart watches, I have a Garmin myself and when I look at it just feels bland and borring altough it's way more advanced then any of my G-shocks or any G-shock in general. When I first bought Garmin I thought I will wear it every day and neglect my g-shocks but after few weeks I went back to my G's. I just feel happier looking at them.

      Agree especially now second hand ones are at such a good price. This watch is as tough as it comes. I like the look of the new B1000 but really not a fan of the metal keeper. For me the gwg100 is a really under rated mudmaster. All the best.

    Im an huge apple fan and hope to work for them someday since im going into IT BUT while the Apple Watch is a wonderful device it does not have the same survivability as a G Shock. I have to keep a protector on my Apple Watch so it won’t scratch. G Shock is ready to go day one. Now I will say that this is NOT a smartwatch so if you want a smartwatch then definitely look into an Apple Watch or something similar that you prefer for your tech needs but for me personally I like the idea of having something where I can wrestle a bear and even if I don’t make out alive my watch definitely did. 😂

    Just clocked (No Pun Intended) your video on this G-Shock un-boxing for the first time. Now, you did say you bought this G-Shock New from a G-Shock group you're a member of early in your video, but then you went on to say, when un-boxing the watch, you bought it secondhand? So, which is it, a New or Secondhand G-Shock?

    Yes, a g-shock is a good buy, especially this higher end ones. My first mud resistant watch was the G-9000 mudman which is almost 15 years old and still in good condition. Then I bought the GW 9400 rangeman. Then in 2014, I bought the first mudmaster gwg-1000-1a3er, then the GG-B100. In the summer I was looking for the red band gwg-b1000, but I ended up with the green version, it was on sale of course, but I like it. Last week I ordered the GWG 2000 the gray version, and it's on my wrist now. I love it. Oh and I also have the GW-9500 mudman. I was looking at the new GPR-H1000 rangeman, but no, if you want a rugged smartwatch, just buy a garmin. But fortunately i prefer this standalone watches without the charging cable. 👍👍👍👍

    • @fuloplehel
      @fuloplehel 2 місяці тому

      @alfredrahman I think the GWG 2000 is the better design, better materials. Twenty years ago I preferred the digital display, but recently I bought more ana-digi or mechanical watches. The most recent one is the citizen promaster land 35th anniversary edition, classic design. But if you want the most functionality, then you can get the GWG-B1000 mudmaster. But I like the design of the GWG 2000.

    I have the new GWGB1000 in red I also have a BBG100 of the two I prefer the G100 it is a lot lighter and the strap keeper stays in place unlike the metal one on the G1000 they also have most of the same functions but the B1000 has the solar powered battery which persuaded me to buy it but one thing it does not have is a step tracker i also picked both watches up with a big price reduction a do like smart watches i have a withings which only needs charging if you turn off some of the functionality every 30 days I have a lot of things to charge up in the day so that’s what puts me off the Apple Watch if I were to purchase a expensive watch, it would have to be omega for the elegant looks

      Funnily enough the Step Tracker is the one thing I miss about the 2K over my G100 too. The G100 was my first G, and the one I've worn the most by a mile. That said, I am really liking the 2k now I have a 'lifes too short' mentality to it and am actually wearing it regularly.

    The quality really is there and even though I wouldn't suggest paying retail, I think even at retail it's not outrageous.
    As for the BB Pro, I own one also along with an assortment of MTGs and MRGs. I'd absolutely disagree with your "facts". An MTG is about 1k and finished significantly better than the Tudor. The cases on the MTGs, especially the b2000s, are works of art. They stand up to my Grand Seikos and I would say they are significantly more complex with all their angles and different types of finishing. I love my Pro and think at the 2.7k I paid for it that it is a magnificent deal and the best GMT on the market, but the MTG holds its own at its price point and actually offers value. You will not find a watch at that price with that level of case finishing offered by any other brand. If you know of one, please enlighten me. That being said, the resale value is horrific on most G-Shocks, but really not any different than other brands. To use your example, you can easily buy an Aquis for less than 1k used (more than half of MSRP) and a MTG for around 350-500 depending on the model (about the same).
    Anyway, enjoyed your review, but I just had to comment on that section since I'm an owner of both many Tudors and G-Shocks.

    • @AngryBritain
      @AngryBritain  Рік тому

      But you have to remember with any G you’re still paying for what’s essentially a quartz movement, digital even. They simply can’t justify £3k for an MTG square. Tudor etc can, because your money is going into that beautiful Swiss movement. I’m fine with up to a grand for an MTG but anything over that is just dumb, and like you say, any hope of resale at more than 50% is fantasy. I’m already seeing MTG square owners giving them away for £1500, and the new MTG Frog being discounted at retailers by £1000. G-Shock have got a bit carried away by their own hype imho.
