i absolutely love the edit-style of this video. Turning a long VOD into a feasible, descriptive 10-20 min video is great! Same goes for the past videos :)
You should do a "best of 2023" video. Would probably be fun and do really well here on UA-cam. Best new keyset of 2023, best manufacturer in 2023, best build you did, favorite build you did, best budget keyboard from 2023, biggest flop (if you want to get some angry comments), etc. A million ways to do it You have a lot of glowing reviews for boards but very rarely do we ever really get a glimpse into how they compare to others and it would be interesting to hear a little more of that
I would come to my live stream for that, I won't do a best of or pit things against one another here on UA-cam. I sort of did that recently for stabilizers and it was a lot of passionate feedback and some unnecessary and rude emails / dms about ranking people's fav stabs in an order that didn't work for them, I am more than willing to discuss this on stream!
Your videos bring me immeasurable joy, Alex. Whenever I’m feeling down? I pop on an alexotos build vod of a keyboard I can’t afford and all of my problems just melt away 😂
I just wish that badge at the top left was a knob instead. Would've been my ideal board. I too dig industrial looks a lot and this board is incredible.
Immediately joined the raffle. Love the board and the theme, and the design of the PCB 😍 There is something about the holes on the front of the board that make the monkey part of my brain go unga bunga. Would I like a 5th macro key instead of the planet badge? Yes, but I would gladly give it up for the for that GODLIKE look
The coating looks like a more regular, silver version of the Copper Slag used on Salvation. I have that version, and it’s very cool. Shinier in person than often captured on camera.
I love the look of the board. I just wish they removed the logo element and made the macro column a full 5 keys. Otherwise it looks wonderful to me. Great video btw. :)
That's what makes it even more recognizable. I think they did a really good job designing this board. Just look at it as a 65 with some extra macro keys on the left.
One if a kinda aesthetic? That looks like every other case but has holes. The market is flooded atm. You want me to spend money. Billet 7075 painted with house of color paint and layered with about a bajillion coats of clear coat.
Thanks for the look! This is an easy skip in my book, same mounting points as the Bakeneko65, the stand-offs used to keep the o-ring even don't appear to be present on both sides of the arrow blocker (biggest pain point for uneven o-ring in 65s IME) the bottom only comes off to hide the DB and associated cables, and it has the same side profile of the NK65. I'm really failing to see what makes this board *really* stand out aside from the finish, unit count, and extra macro column on the left side. None of this appears to be groundbreaking design, let alone something that would be $300 more than the CK Bakeneko65. Material looks cool and all but this is a very easy skip in my book. This being better than every other board in 2023 is difficult for me to swallow, too. This year we had Derivative, Moment, Cloudline, and Kohaku... I really fail to see how this is better than any of those other than materials used for the case. Am I being an Event Horizon hater? Maybe. But as someone who is a BIG o-ring 65 lover, I don't see this being significantly different than the other options available in both typing feel and sound.
I mean, it's a keyboard. There's only so many things you can do at this point that are "groundbreaking" to it lol. I love how you say you don't know what makes it stand out but then list three things that make it stand out. It's more expensive than a Bakeneko because of the production quality, finishing, and material choice. Whether you like it or feel the cost difference is justifiable is obviously all a matter of opinion, but there are definitely things that make this board objectively unique and worth the price over something like the NK65 or Bakeneko
Split backspace and/or stepped caps on HS? Pricey yet no info here, unless there's a webpage somewhere. I see just the Google form for raffle. Anyone have info on that? Thanks.
@@alexotos Thank you. You're right. I entered the raffle without ever noticing that link. Now I have the info I sought. Thanks! Great job on all the vids BTW!

Just take a look at some vendors across the world they are selling some boards that are in stock extras from previous groups buys you can get a good deal.
@@alexotosaaah my bad. I went back for a double check and it was you reading a chat comment. lol. I ordered some of the new mode stabs, you rate them higher than C3,Staebies and TX AP?
Lawdy, it's drop dead gorgeous and sounds like a dream. I've been so tempted to enter the raffle but just can't swing the $ atm. I like the base model better than the supermassive. Not into the gold.
Am I the only one who thinks Cherry blacks are super overrated? I got some lubed and spring-swapped them and it really wasn't anything cool afterwards.
Raffle and no wireless option make this a no at any price but beautifully machined and otherwise designed. I just want more practical functionality for that money.
I totally get what you mean about raffles, but as for wireless, I don't know.... I personally feel like not every board needs wireless functionality, and we do have a lot of boards right now with wireless features. I also think that there have been a lot of practical keyboards with tons of functionality for less money to choose from. I feel like this is more of a center piece keyboard if that makes sense.
Raffle is the fairest way to supply a limited, yet highly coveted, product to people. And wireless boards at this level of enthusiast keyboard don’t really exist. This isn’t a keychron, razor, or Logitech. This is a top of the line, limited supply, product. Wireless functionality would negatively affect the performance because adding a battery throws off the case construction and sound signature. It’s kind of like complaining that a Ferrari doesn’t have enough cup holders. It may not. But people don’t buy Ferrari’s for expecting to lug around suitcases. They buy them because they’re the fastest and most beautiful car on the market. That isn’t the point of the product. Tons of other boards have Bluetooth at the expensive of sound, feel, and design.
@@jmegaswag *eyeroll* wireless functionality is just that , *functionality* its something even cheap boards you're condescending to me about are capable of doing. I enjoy a clean desk and fast switching between devices and I'd like to do that without a KVM or added perhipheral. This is a priority for ME which is a ultimately a preference. Industrial/mechanical design that incorporates functionality into it design is hard and at these prices I expect more could be done to compensate for things like sound, but since when is a sound preference equivalent to performance? Also cup holders in Ferraris is also a false analogy as well as an accidental illustration of what I'm talking about. People buy Ferraris not just because of their sound/aesthetic choices marriage of performance and design. A cup holder is an affordance and does not give a car horse power or handling. You could cede to it just being scarce and cool looking but that doesn't make implicitly make it a high "performing" piece of gear. You aren't event right about wireless functionality not being a feature of a "performance"/ "high end" (read: expensive, which isn't even a linear relationship tbqh) board.
best keyboard ive seen and heard in 2023 but the design of the logo being in the top left of the front face puts me off still. My OCD hurts seeing it, they should opt for a back design and leave the front Logo-less .

@@alexotos I think WS Cthulhu keycaps would look insane on it. It'd be a cool theme

The aesthetics are pretty interesting! Only thing it sounds a little thin and there are way too many feets! Thanks for reviewing this, Alex!
where can I buy the artisan keycap in the upper left corner?
sounds almost as good as the song 'Event Horizon" by Younha
artisan key with real moonrock in it would be sick

My future Kohaku plans are officially on an indefinite hold lol.
The uniform "speed holes" on the top chasis reminds me of NZXT's design aesthetic and im all for it
That’s a deep reference 😂
@alexotos if you had to pick one, would you rather have this or a Kohaku?
GMK Mercury on this board would be insane
This is so good. This would give NK industrial keys a different soul :D.
ohh boy. i just won the re-raffle and i am so damn excited
That board ..... O_O is on another level.
what set is that special return keycap from? i need it in my life. for work emails.
Wait. Was I in a bad mood when I watched this first?? Because now it sounds good??? What???
You should try cream+ copper switches in this, or maybe gateron summertime
I just keep coming back to this video regretting my decision to not enter the raffle due to Christmas shopping 😭😭
