    People grossly overestimate mankind. It's so easy to control and manipulate them. On a small or large scale. To a small or extreme extent. It happens in every country in the world. I live in one of the richest and most free countries, the United States, and it's still a major problem here. In the very recent past, and still today in many parts of the world, blasphemy, heresy and sorcery are common capital crimes.

      From what I have noticed, people seem to be ok with authoritarianism as long as it fits their political views (left vs right), which as a libertarian I cannot understand. Tyranny, whether left wing or right wing is still tyranny, and tyrants of any political views will take a mile if given an inch, so nobody should ever accept even the slightest amount of sacrifice of freedom because it can and will turn into something much worse.

      If human beings were such rational creatures, the concept of a "kingdom" would never have been established in human history. The majority of the masses only risk their lives to fight against tyrants when they are pushed to the brink of having nothing left to lose. The North Korean regime knows this, which is why they strengthen information control. From the perspective of the North Korean regime, it is advantageous for their power to make the North Korean people believe that South Korea is a more hellish place than North Korea. Additionally, the North Korean regime thoroughly controls not only information coming from abroad but also internal information. They prevent communication between different regions. For instance, even people who have defected from Pyongyang had no idea about the lives of those in Hamgyong or Pyongan provinces until they met other defectors in South Korea. In other words, North Korea is a giant prison in itself, but within this giant prison, small, compartmentalized prisons are formed in a fractal-like structure. Thus, people cannot exchange opinions or unite with each other. For these reasons, many coups have occurred in North Korea, but they all ended as small-scale coups and were quickly suppressed.

    • @frogmanxbl7129
      @frogmanxbl7129 Місяць тому

      Because modern weaponry means a few well-armed soldiers could *literally* kill tens of thousands of people easily. Remember, the population in North Korea is unarmed. What are they going to do, just run into machine guns / tear gas / electric fences / who knows what else?
      Plus, how would they coordinate? They can't just go on social media and call for a revolt, and the regime there rewards informants so you can't even trust your own neighbors. And keep in mind, if you're turned in, you don't just go to a nice comfy jail cell like in a Western country - torture is definitely on the table.
      If you're wondering why the military wouldn't overthrow him, it's probably for very similar reasons. Any one soldier can't make a huge difference, and if you try to coordinate to start a revolt you risk being betrayed and turned in and facing a gruesome fate. Plus, they'll almost certainly come for your family too.
      The population there may have numbers, but that means nothing without coordination. And coordinating without mass communication and with constant threat of being turned in is near impossible. And, without weapons, good luck overthrowing an armed military even if you heavily outnumber them.

    Koreans may feel uncomfortable with this video.
    The reason is that the name 'Sea of Japan' is the term preferred by Japan, whereas in Korea, it is called the 'East Sea.'
    For a long time, both countries have presented their respective arguments based on historical evidence and
    many maps show both 'East Sea' and 'Sea of Japan' together.
    Therefore, since there is ongoing debate over this name, I believe that using only one name is incorrect
