What intrigued you most about this video?
The fact that trump was called 40 different offensive names, when Oboma was too afraid to meet him.
It just shows, if the Americans left the world alone and worried about their own problems, how much better life would be for everybody else.

To be able to release Lion King in Germany and South Korea, Disney had to say that "Be Prepared" was inspired by both, which is true. So yes. I loved all the quotes related to diplomacy! All of them are profound.
Kim Jong-un grew up and went to school in Switzerland, so he knows what freedom is.
For me the fact he’s European educated makes his current path so much more horrifying. He knows the benefits of a democratic society, yet he continues to keep any wealth for himself and his loyal subjects. The rest of the population are left to fend for themselves. It’s sad.

@@ricrasekh I'm well aware of this. But he's not attempted any real change. There's an acceptance of black markets followed by crackdowns. The info that does get out suggests he's further consolidated the regime's power through building more 'camps' and executions in some areas have increased with more crimes now punishable by death. He's also built theme parks for his wealthy compadres. And executed members of the party who suggested a move to a more democratic society. So while I understand your point the evidence I've read suggests he has no interest in upsetting the current status quo and will not gradually introduce measures to ease the grip of the regime's power.

Unification of the Korean peninsula would be the most massive humanitarian crisis of the 21st century. Trying to incorporate 25 million malnourished, brain growth stunted, chattel slaves into the most technologically advanced society on the planet would be horrifying. This is so interesting because it's a history documentary about things we all experienced. I can see someone watching this in 50+ years, and thinking how crazy North Korea was before collapsing (which is destined to happen eventually).

It's not a bad documentary, but I've seen so many good documentaries on UA-cam that I can't take the epic music and dramatic narration seriously anymore

8:20 Just a correction here: Soviet Russia and many Eastern European communist countries _did_ have portraits of their leaders in public buildings, especially schools. You would often see a photo of Lenin (sometimes Stalin) and the current leader of that country during the time.
So the 'destalinization' removed these when his successor came into power?

What has been surprising: The political skill of the North Korean leader was a surprising discovery. Because his country has self isolated for so long, very few people have ever seen him in the role of a statesman. Very interesting documentary. Highly appreciated!

Makes banners, organize demonstrations, make videos explaining how the region would be better-off with the two Koreas united. Let public sentiment toward Korean unification grow. Let the movement grow. And let the prosperity of the two Koreas grow - through unification.
