yes it is about kids and many of them have powers at some times. they fight monsters indeed. they occasionally travel thru space. they don't protect the world but the stakes are very hig. there is MUCH more than this. yes you should read it because its free and also great.

Then again, Hiveswap sold practically nothing since the fandom had radically shrunk by the time it happened, so it did, in a roundabout way, blow up in their face.
it absolutely blew up in their face with the constant "the game will be out at the end of the year! *no updates until a few months after* we've got a new studio! *no updates* we've got a new studio! also we're redoing the game from scratch, it'll be out soon! *no updates* we've got a new studio!" it was vague promises and hopes and dreams, with a trailer that capitalized on making people excited for something that wasn't going to be anything like the trailer showed, that then got funded 2.5 million dollars and was handled by a creator and team that had absolutely no experience making a full game lmao,, hiveswap, by itself, is actually really good. it's cute, it's fun, you can enjoy it by itself without ever reading homestuck, but the development cycle on it was complete absolute dogshit and it's incredible it came out at all (and hiveswap act 3+4 plus the originally announced sequel to it won't come out for forever, probably)

I completely agree. In the whole saga I have skipped exactly 3 pages, 2 of which were Hussie's recaps, and the other a page of Aranea/Vriska's ancestors diary, which was ridiculously boring and I had a headache at the time :/

Yeah, Andrew Hussie first got one dev team to make the Homestuck game but a few months later they dropped it, and wasted some of Andrew's Kickstarter money. Now Andrew decided to make his own game dev team so this shit won't happen again. But now we know they are still working on the game.

essentially 4 13 year old kids attempt to play sburb a game that ends the world in some way. they face many tribulations including alien trolls from a different universe, A genocidal cueball headed omniscient being, a Stab happy carapacien, BETTY CROCKER, and more.
After the days of sadness I felt because of Jon leaving Game Grumps and reading depressing, yet likely possibilities for the end of Homestuck, this comment made my day. Thank you.
Deep inside I hope each character has a different genre of gameplay. You get the idea. John is a platformer where he uses his hammers to gain new abilities. Rose is a more Zelda-like puzzle game where spells aid her. Dave is a beat-em-up with his epic swords. Jade is an FPS or some kind of shooting game. and most importantly, Lil' Cal would be the best fucking game ever.

We've had 2 null sessions, a void session, and now a dead session. I think just a multiplayer game that goes through vanilla Sburb, with the Black King as the main boss would be perfect.
No, just be on hiatus for a while, people did give $2.5 million dollars for it. But he will finish HS after. Frankly, I feel this is the perfect spot to take the hiatus to work on the game. We're excited and happy for John, worried for Jade and the Alpha kids, and left wondering about Bec Noir, Jack, and Spades, so that will keep us wanting more. It's sad that there will be a hiatus for a few months but with a productive fanbase, we'll see new art and stories. I'm sure the wait will be worth it.
He draws in the style of MSPaint, which is why its called MSPaintAdventures. He may have actually used paint at one point, but now he just keeps the style, which you can do with the pencil tool in Photoshop

In cascade he used art from quite a few other artists that gave him permission to use it and fully credited them.
Homestuck ADVENTURE GAME. Also, just because some people think it's the best thing ever to happen to mankind doesn't mean it's not one of the most interesting, and most entertaining things I've experienced on the internet in a long time. And I used to think it was stupid, because I didn't read far enough into it. If you read Homestuck, come to understand Hussie at all, and know what Adventure Game means, it's pretty easy to get an idea of what we're in for.

Yeah it can be hard to get people to read it I.E it gets into hyperdrive at the Middle of act 4 which is more than 1000 pages form beginning.

Without a doubt, this is the best anime ever made
He draws in the style of MSPaint, which is why its called MSPaintAdventures. He may have actually used paint at one point, but now he just keeps the style, which you can do with the pencil tool in Photoshop
This made me so happy.
Everyone will be able to buy the game when it's out. What donating money to the kickstarter does, is giving you the game free when it's out, and some merch and stuff, obviously all depends on how much money you donate

Couldn’t agree more but make that 2.4 million actually. With 2.4 billion it would easily dwarf many countries’ national budget. Actually, since the pay-pal thing opened afterwards for a bit the budget exceeded 2.5 million but they didn’t say by how much.

And while I do respect your opinion you should also respect others as well. Like I said, just because they like something you don't doesn't make them stupid or wrong. So just keep your comments to yourself. I'd also like to clarify that Hussie does NOT make all the art he uses. In cascade he used art from quite a few other artists that gave him permission to use it and fully credited them.

Homestuck ADVENTURE GAME.
Also, just because some people think it's the best thing ever to happen to mankind doesn't mean it's not one of the most interesting, and most entertaining things I've experienced on the internet in a long time. And I used to think it was stupid, because I didn't read far enough into it. If you read Homestuck, come to understand Hussie at all, and know what Adventure Game means, it's pretty easy to get an idea of what we're in for.
