In this video, Did You Know Gaming takes a look at a cancelled Pokemon game for the Nintendo DS that was being developed by Fuse Games, the developers of Metroid Prime Pinball. Pokemon Pinball on the DS would have been a step up for the sub-series, with Fuse bringing the same level of quality as seen in their previous NDS outing.

Pokémon company doesn't make spin-off games like they used to. I miss the Pokémon Pinball and Ranger series
I loved Pokemon Ranger, but my DS didn't, I used to play so much that my touch screen protector has many circle scratches all across it's surface, can't imagine how it would be if it didn't have the protector
but sadly, mobile trash tier games generate more money...
I love Ranger soo much! Just think how amazing it would be to spin a joy con at the tv and make the circles around a Pokemon. It would be just like in the game! But if the sales of Legends Arecus and Mystery dungeon on switch if it tell us anything it is that spin offs do not sell. 😬
Pokemon coliseum and XD Gale of Darkness were my favorite spin offs.
I miss when they made good games that were actually playable, even if they had some bugs
So sad that the project was never greenlit, not only because it seems like we lost out on an amazing title, but also because the level of sales a pokemon title would've generated, spin off or not, would've absolutely saved that company from bankruptcy.

This is an assumption that not only depends on the actual sales numbers, but also on the contract they have with the Pokémon Company (like do they get money for every copy being sold or to they just get paid once for the final product? And if the get a sales bonus, how much is it?).
So saying "This would have saved them" is a little bit too... Farfetch'd.

i was reading about Fuse not too long ago and its clear they had a great love of pinball, its shame they couldn't survive but at least they had a great last project with a Timeshock remake
It's honestly a bit surprising they haven't tried to revive this spinoff series for mobile phones yet

Bummed that Pokemon Pinball stopped after Ruby and Sapphire. Imagine a Pokemon Pinball Sun and Moon as a download title
I didn't care for Sun and Moon, but they would make for awesome pinball tables.
Pokemon Pinball is such an underrated series, it truly deserved better

It's such a simple but fun game. I got all the monsters but it's still a blast to play.

first Mystery Dungeon was a 8/10, 2nd one was a 15/10, everything after was an insult to the player and they kept going on
Give me back Kecleon shop fraud, give me a good story, give me the great pixelart they used, awesome dungeon designs, more quests to do at same, less linear gameplay that allows me to grind dungeons instead of being forced to finish the story day by day - the evolution of Mystery Dungeon might be even more heartbreaking than that of the main line

Hard disagree there. Super (while no better than Explorers) was easily the second best of the series.

Super had one. Yeah, the beginning might be a little bit slow (I still liked how the kids did felt like kids pulling pranks on their friends and everything) but it quickly picks up the second the Eon siblings appeared.

Might not be pixelart, but the 3D models were beautifully made and had incredible animations.

Like Super didn't have those as well. From the forests and rivers in the Water Continent to the mountains and deserts from the Sand continent and everything in-between. And then you have the Void lands and the Tree of Life. Honestly, it might even surpass Explorers (I mean, lets be honest, Explorers had way too many caves).

Something that doesn't happen as often as you are making it to be, but also happened in Explorers (I mean, once you arrive in the future you have to keep moving forward, the same with the expedition were you find your first Time Gear).

Awesome video. As a big fan of the Pokemon Pinball series, it is truly a tragedy that we missed having this sequel. :( But if Pokemon Snap came back from the dead after almost 15 years, Pokemon Pinball may someday come back too :)
I've been hooked on Pokemon Pinball R&S lately, so this video came at the perfect time!
It sounds like the DS entry would've been pretty cool, if very different from the existing formula. Really wish we could at least see what that demo looked like - fingers crossed that it leaks someday.
I absolutely loved playing Pokémon Pinball for the Gameboy Color, it brings back a lot of nostalgia

When the video started with the Pokémon pinball RS intro, I immediately put everything together. My heart hurts. This series really needed more entries.

Kind of a shame this didn’t take off, it would’ve been cool to see a Black and White pinball for the DSi release as well.
This video is actually amazing. The resources DYKG has to bring us such a story/information and with beautiful illustrations as well. I mean this is more than you could ever ask of a gaming channel. Maaaan, those old Pokémon Pinball games were some of my favourite Pokémon spin-offs, not to mention easily my favourite Pinball games... A DS one would have been awesome!
Wow! This sounded REALLY ambitious. Also, I grew up FONDLY with the R&S pinball game and I STILL find it find and addicting whenever I play it.😊

Poke Pinball and the TCG game were two of my favorite spinoff games- they were just fun to repeat over and over in a way the main games werent (even compared to the fact I replayed Ruby a ridiculous amount of times)
My dream Pokemon Pinball game would have been Zen Studios (the team behind the Portal Pinball table) making a Pokemon Pinball game. I love the Pokemon Pinball games and wish they had occasional sequels from all the new generations.
I’ve been championing the idea of a ZEN Studios made Pokémon Pinball for quite some time myself. It needs to happen. Pokémon Pinball just can’t die like this.
I hope Zen has at least pitched the idea. Given how popular pinball has been on the Switch (HD Rumble and detachable controllers allowing the system to be vertical are a big boon for the genre), it seems like a good opportunity. Assuming they used the multi-table structure they normally use, they could make tables based on the games, movies, etc. (there is one Pokémon movie with pinball-shaped MacGuffins), though the ideas Fuze had are interesting as well. As for Zen itself, they’re trying to get a new version of their pinball platform out, which I hope to see soon.
This makes me so sad, Pinball RS is one of my favorite games ever. A follow-up would’ve been legendary. Maybe some day…

I've wanted a new Pinball game for so long and still haven't lost hope. There's so much potential to make something amazing with a new one considering how many more gens we have now.
Correction: besides the two main tables, both games featured multiple bonus tables as well. These were necessary to complete to get your score high enough to catch rarer Pokemon, and Mewtwo had to be unlocked by beating his bonus stage first.
I played way too much of the first one. So would’ve wished for this DS version!

Never played a Pokemon Pinball game for very long, but I love the Pinball Ruby and Sapphire commercial.

Pokemon Pinball Ruby/Sapphire was one of if not my first Gameboy game ever, I played it when I was like 4.
I would've been over the moon had they actually made a Diamond/Pearl iteration as Pokemon Platinum was my very first mainstream Pokemon game.
I think Pokemon Pinball R/S started a lifelong love for Pinball as a genre and for Pokemon as a franchise.
I even have fond memories of competing for high scores between the Ruby/Sapphire charts with my mom, so it even helped start the trend of the two of us gaming together when I was a kid.
I hope one day they do bring back some form of Pokemon Pinball; it's a spinoff you can spend equal amount of time playing as a main series game between trying to beat your own high score and completing the pokedex. Catching Jirachi in Pinball R/S for the first time was absolutely exhilarating, and the younger generation of pokefans deserve to feel that same joy imo!

Man I would love so much for Pokémon Pinball to come back on the Switch. It was too good a series to just die out, especially if this never released one was the most ambitious and impressive. Bring it baaaack
Pokémon pinball ruby sapphire was amazing! I used to lay it all the time! I hope they make a new Pokémon pinball one day.
It was a short and simple game, but I LOVED Metroid Prime Pinball. I got it when it was still new and still have the rumble pack. Even played the multiplayer with my family a few times. And all that was in spite of me never actually even playing another Metroid game at all and not knowing what was going on :D
i wish they’d give pokémon pinball the mario wonder treatment, i’d love to see more of this art style and pokémon mini game fun. catching and evolving pokémon to fill out the dex in the gba version was a blast
There was also a Pokemon Mini Pinball that you forgot about & I could have sworn there was also a Gold & Silver Pinball that was either Japan Exclusive or cancelled.

A story mode of sorts might have been interesting, but what I liked about the first two was that you could just pick them up and play them in between rounds of some other game. If I had to keep track of a bunch of stuff, I don’t know if I’d be as interested. Still, ANY additional entries in the series would’ve been appreciated. Hopefully, we’ll at least see the existing games released on NSO, preferably with an option to enable the rumble on the joy cons.

Being a pinball fanatic, I loved all the Pokemon Pinball games. I borrowed my friend's game a long time ago and got a super high score that to this day he hasn't beaten. I completed my Ruby/Sapphire pokedex and immortalized a crazy high score on both fields too. I seriously want another Pokemon Pinball game. It was sad to hear Fuse went out of business. Metroid Pinball is my first DS game and it was so fun to play.

I played this game when camping as a kid, and it became a tradition to play it whenever we went camping. To this day as an adult on camping trips I still dig it out

The fact we missed out on another Pokémon Pinball breaks my heart... I LOVED that series. Me and my mum used to take turns play Pinball: Ruby and Sapphire when I was in my teens. She beat the game before I did!
I still play Pokemon Pinball RS to this day, it's one of my must owns for road trips and one of the first titles I'll grab when building a library. Very sad to see this installment didn't hatch...
Although would be a cool thing to develop on, as it sounded to be better than the previous 2 entries, if someone were to make a ROM hack, that might get big boss Nintendo to flag it down

I just LOVE Pokémon Pinball Ruby & Sapphire, I played it recently for a while using an emulator because I've never seen a cartridge in the wild and it's so much fun. The recreations shown in the video were already so good I can't even imagine how the real game would've looked, I wish they didn't cancel it or that they would bring the franchise back as they did with Pokémon Snap.

What we should get now is a Switch-based Poké Pinball game that works, mechanically, as a mobile game. Think like Café Remix but instead of that game you're doing Pokémon Pinball, with regular updates and/or unlocks for new tables/regions/whatever like Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links does, where you may have to complete a certain percentage of an event to unlock that area/table or whatever. Even the available Dex could be altered around for different tables/locations. It wouldn't be that hard to do, hell you could make it like those battle pinballish games, am I right?

I’ve been begging for a new Pokémon Pinball game for 15+ years and to learn of this just makes me sad. Snap made a return on Switch, so here’s to hoping we see this franchise again on a modern console, too.

What's the melody at 7:11? Huge flashbacks to this Pikachu alarm clock I had, I thought they made the song up. But now I hear that melody in the anime finale trailer and now the Pinball soundtrack?? What is it?
“Aim To Be A Pokemon Master”, it’s the Japanese equivalent of the season 1 English Pokemon theme. It might also explain why the original Pokemon Pinball never made it to the 3DS Virtual Console.

Really a shame Pokemon Pinball DS got canned. Fuse Games' work on Mario Pinball Land and Metroid Prime Pinball looked impressive.
A story mode for Pokemon Pinball sounded a little interesting too, imagine a new original story with an original character. Hell, I wouldn't mind an abridged retelling of the first seasons of the anime just for laughs.
