Thanks Eliza :) I actually lived in New Mexico (landlocked) most of my life, and didn't move closer to the ocean until later. Find things you love photographing around you and then when you get to the ocean, I will take you out!
Great vid... I use the same setup as you... A7riii with Sony 85 F1.8. It's a good comb. Also, I'll switch to the Zeiss 55mm from time to time. Both are good options. I do think the 85mm is a more challenging lens but the clarity is awesome when you nail the focus. Good stuff, keep posting.
@@jessejennings I used the Zeiss 55 1.8 this morning and will be posting later on IG. Good blue hour/full moon combo this morning with some classic Fall barrels.... You will not be disappointed with the 55mm. I am going to add the 24-70mm to my arsenals and really struggling between Sigma and Sony. All my lenses are Sony primes but damn that Sony 24-70mm GM costs a lot. Any thoughts?
@@surflifeimages Do you plan on using it in the water? I rarely use my 24-70 in the water but it is my go to for client and wedding work. I have heard the GM2 version of that lens may be released soon.
Haven't you considered the 35-150 Tamron 2-2.8? It sounds like the ultimate lens for your work, at 35 still relatively wide, but you can zoom much further than the 24-70
@@jessejennings No, I haven't yet, because although this lens sounds great, I personally am more of a wide angle photographer, so it just lacks too much for me there. But looking at your video it sounds as if, as a single lens, this fits your work better than the 24-70. Great photos though!
Hey Jesse! First, thanks for the video!!! Can I ask you what shutter speed do you use when shooting video from the sand? I'm having too much blur at 24FPS and 1/50. Thanks in advance!
I really liked your video, you gave me ideas to start in surf photography !! but I want to ask you, which brand or how can I find the case for the iphone? and are there cases for the alpha a7 II?
Thanks Mike :) Yes it is possible! Most housings have buttons and knobs so you can change most settings (aperture, shutter speed, etc). I've got a new video coming on my new water housing soon :)
Great Tidbits! Subscribed and would Love 💗🤟💗 a Follow Back! Shooting the Carolina Cup Pro AM this weekend! Not as beautiful water and the surf 🌊 is much smaller...But should be fun! Do you use or ever thought of using any Polarizers to cut glare/deepen contrast/colors etc.? Links of where to buy that fancy water gear would be awesome...might attempt that soon😎. Hope you're having an Awesome Week!
Love it Just learning about surfing photography What do I need to know?

Favorite video ever! Thank you for sharing! I wish I lived closer to the ocean to become a surf photographer! That would be the dream!

I didn't understand what housing do you use; can you repeat it? I'm looking for the cheapest housing possible for my a7c
She use Aquatech but go take a look at Seafrogs housings! They have good choices for half of the price :)

It is called the axisgo by Aquatech! I will be making a more in depth video on options for camera for beginning surf photography!
