    5:02 Per aquatech you actually don’t want to use the silicone grease on the gasket. It is meant for the buttons and the dial or focus knob.

    Hi Jesse! What kind of bag do you use to carry all your aqua tech housing and gear to and from the beach? And what about while traveling for flights? Looking for a good option that will fit all my gear.

    Nice video Jesse! Try using surf wax on the port instead when shooting with the 85mm. Takes some practice, but by far the best method I’ve found

      I do this as well! I find that sometimes some water can still bead after the wax wears off a bit, so I always try to have the squeegee just in case! Thanks for the tip!

    Hey, im thinking to change from canon 90d to sony a7iii in surf photography/videography, one thing I don't get yet is how you change from photo mode to video mode in the water, you have a control for this in the Waterhouse?

    I have been researching the aqua tech housing and plan on getting the edge. Question on lenses as I am also a Sony shooter - do you consider the 85mm the best for shooting in the ocean? Any recommendations on a Sony wide angle lens? And lastly, ever use the 70-200 in the ocean? If so, thoughts? I’d like to get a combo of above and below water shots - people boogie boarding, waves, and under water. Will be going to Maui this summer and also go to beach in Galveston (TX).

      I will be doing a more in depth review on the Edge housing soon, so hopefully that will help! I love the 85mm for surf, however the most versatile prime lens would probably be a 50mm (I use the Zeiss 55mm1.8). For wide angle, I use the 16-35f4 however I rarely use unless the surf is big. I don't have a 70-200, but it is the next thing I hope to purchase on my gear list! A lot of surf photogs use it when shooting from a ski or boat, or sitting further away from your subject. I cannot wait to get the 70-200, but it is a big lens!

      @@jessejennings I’d highly recommend saving up for the new 70-200 f2.8 GM ii. It is so much lighter than version 1 and a fantastic lens - by far my favorite lens I have. No idea how that would hold up in the water, but I use it a ton for things like baseball and basketball photography.

      @@bquinn722 I took your advice and got the m2 and I LOVE it! Hoping to get a port for it soon so I can test it in the surf :) thanks for the advice

      @@jessejennings awesome! You are going to love it! Let me know what you think when you use it in the water. I have not yet bought any ports and that is one I am considering along with a wide angle lens.

    Hey Jesse. Really enjoying your videos. You obviously trying to build your channel so I suggest you invest in some audio. Rode Wireless Go II or the new DJI version of the Wireless Go. It will up your video game dramatcially. But you probably know that already.

    • @jessejennings
      @jessejennings  3 роки тому +1

      Hey Kevin! Thanks so much for the feedback, I have actually been torn on what to get to upgrade my audio! I've been thinking about the wireless go 2, have you used it before?

    • @kevinrom710
      @kevinrom710 3 роки тому

      @@jessejennings Hey Jesse. I use it constantly for all my head shot/interview videos. It is so convenient and with two transmitters allows you to mic up two people if you ever require.
      What I like about the DJI version is the ability to plug the receiver directly into your iPhone. When filming with an iPhone(run and gun) on a gimbal I think that could be a game changer. For the Wireless GoII you need TRRS cables to do that. Makes the setup with a gimbal clumsy.
      I think both those options are better than a shotgun mic.

    • @jessejennings
      @jessejennings  2 роки тому

      Kevin!! After some research, I am waiting for the DJI mic to become available. It has been delayed a few times, but it looks pretty great for what I do!!
