What a song, Mike what a song. Tears fall down my eyes and I heard One More Light but with this song, I've cry thousands of them. So strong feelings came through it.
This would make a beautiful epilogue to any Greatest Hits album, as well as a beautiful epilogue for the band itself. Is it appropriate to carry on the LP name without Chester?... I wasn't sure until I heard this. But the band exploring their feelings about his loss feels just as relevant and deserving of the LP name as when he was with us.

This deserves to be an official single. Hopefully Mike polishes this up with the guys and releases it.
I know we all want a studio version of this song, but we gotta give him time. When he played “One more light” in London last year it was the first and only time he sang that song without Chester, and you could literally feel his pain. This song may even be harder for him to sing.
Not sure if you've heard already, he worked on the song some more and it went nowhere, so he decided to abandon it and keep it as a one of, because it just felt better that way.
I feel like even if he finished and released it, most people would still gravitate towards this performance.

I could just imagine Chester is actually on that stage in spirit standing right beside Mike and watching him sing his his heart out. Meanwhile as Mike continues to sing, Chester slowly walks to the front of the stage watching the crowd embrace Mike’s performance and he cracks a faint smile to the audience as he thinks to himself “Yeah...those were the days”. After Mike ends his song, Chester turns to him and applauds with the crowd and then Chester’s spirit slowly fades away.

Maybe it's not his intention, but this song is like a reply to One More Light in a way. While One More Light is a song from the outsiders perspective to the survivors of the death - offering them comfort, telling them that we care too - this song Looking For An Answer is from the survivors themselves (Mike) asking why and how it happened. :'(

True I can't imagine the pain, but I know it must be very hard on them. Even in this song Mike's voice cracks ever so often. If continuing is too painful for them, I hope each of them will continue with music, but if they can pull through and overcome the devastation I wish them all the best.

There were thousands of people in that crowd, and yet it's so quiet... I can see all of them standing still with tears streaming down their faces, catching every word, thinking about Chester. What a beautiful sad experience it must have been.
You know, I was there and this amazing song was in the middle of a celebration of Chester Bennington. Mostly I was on my feet just to be able to see this band and sing these songs. This song was so heart felt. When I've gone back to listen to this song, I do get emotional because I think that this song really expresses what we all felt. But Mike has moved on, as we all have.
Today is the 4th anniversary of Chester Bennington's death, so I thought I would listen to this song once, but otherwise I'm going to watch live shows and listen to Linkin Park albums.
I want to honor and celebrate the talent of Chester Bennington, and not how he left us.
On this, the fifth anniversary of this concert, a friend who was there said that a woman who was sitting behind her was sobbing when Mike started this song, and as she reached back and held her hand, they both lost it. Now, when I listen to this song, I can hear the pain in Mike's voice, how it cracks just slightly. But also, I have come to believe in the importance of putting this song out there, even if it's never recorded, even if this is the only time it's played. I believe that's why Mike performed it here.
If anyone from the team still reads these comments, please release this as an official song.
Those lyrics... Mike, don't blame yourself for not preventing his suicide. Chester had a lot of demons and a traumatic past that would be difficult for anyone to soothe or make sense of. You were his best friend and brother, that's all he really needed and probably asked for. You did more than enough for him throughout his career and later part of his life. You have nothing to feel guilty or regretful about. I know it's hard to believe that at first... my friend shot himself earlier this year. I felt that same wave of guilt and anger at myself for months. I still do. But I know that my friend wouldn't have blamed me for anything. Everyone has their own demons, like I said before. Please keep your head and spirits up. The same goes for everyone else in the band... Rob, Joe, Brad, Dave. I love you guys.

Whatever pain we feel as fans, I'd imagine it's only a fraction of what the band must be feeling. They spent so much time together and stayed united as a band for so much longer than anyone thought they would. They evolved and created some incredible music. Truly incredible.

I remember going through what Mike did, me and a couple of our friends played music and our inspirations were Rise Against, Rob Zombie, The Cranberries, Fall Out Boy, and Linkin Park (Rob bourdon was my inspiration to be a drummer) so we played our covers of songs and what not, and our bassist was heavily into heroine, we didn't know, it makes me cry even typing this, he was a good person when not strung out. He was even a teen father. But one day we got a call from his mom saying that his body was found and he OD'd we didn't know what to do. We hwent through anxiety, fear, pain, and lastly we accepted. We attended his funeral, and I got his treasured bass pick. I still keep it in my locked box to remember him. Miss you Blake.

I thought it was really special that everyone in the crowd stayed quiet the entire time he sang this, that to me is the amount of respect they have for them and chester.
Not everyone was quiet, you can hear it in the full stream.
Overall it is indeed very impressive when a whole crowd becomes quiet.
It's sad and weirdly enough beautiful the way Mike sings, especially the part 'Is there sunshine where you are'.

The references to Chester are tribute to his legacy, let's give him a reprieve , Mike Shinoda is our new front man and deserve's the respect and love of us Linkin Park fans, the song and the melody resonate through my bones for his pain, he has been the vocals behind Chester since the beginning and only fitting he should write and sing such a beautiful song, Chester is gone let him rest in peace. Mike and LP are here still playing to our emotions so i can go on another day, week, and eternity as LP fan.
This song... it doesn't just remind me of Chester. It reminds me of everyone that I've lost to suicide. I know what Mike felt, and still feels. This song is the exact emotion that you feel. So is the Post Traumatic album. I cannot think of any other music that encapsulates what it's like to live in a world without those who you love.

And I'm just a fan who never met him in person; I can't imagine how permanently heartbreaking it is for Mike and Brad and Joe and Phoenix, for Talinda and his kids... for everyone who was close to him beyond just his art.
Doesn’t matter how much we love someone and how much we do for them, when they are gone we will always feel like we didn’t do enough for them. Nothing is ever good enough. So I get what Mike is saying but I’m sure he said and done enough things for his best friend ❤️

Krishnendu Ghosh sadly I don't believe they will go on as Linkin Park. Chester just cannot be replaced. Maybe they will continue as another band name or do individual projects. Either way, their music will live on through their fans. I wished Chester could have seen how loved he was. Rip Chester.

Guys, you really should stop smoking whatever the stuff is.. Sorry to say that. Chester after bad childhood was given anyway successful life and threw it away.. Now he was "surely" at some "other job to do" than standing there next to Mike.. I'm believer, nevertheless.

My ex husband was just taken off life support this morning. His choice of posion was drinking. I begged him to go to rehab many times before i left. Even after the divorce I begged him to go to rehab. He went twice both times checked himself out both times. He was sick the last 2 months, he had given up on everything. So many of us care about you. Your inner demons said otherwise. You pushed me away when we were together. I couldn't keep up anymore, especially what you said and did while you were drunk. But i still love you, i will always love you. You will forever be my fluffybear and I your cloud on fire. RIP Tom.

@@markdriver3033 he was a drunk before I got with him. He was a horribly abusive person because of his drinking. He was 40 years old and when I left him he had been fired from 2 jobs within 2 weeks because he didn't want to work. I left him with $900+ and he drained the account in 5 days on beer, instead of paying bills. Plus with it actually being record to police he had tried killing me when I left him by draining my break fluid after he "changed my breaks" and claimed there was nothing wrong with them and they had 0 metal left to them. So nah I didn't control anything at all with my ex husband and that's exactly why he died 5 years after I left him with no friends at all and was selling his food stamps for beer because he was too lazy to go get a job and his family wanted nothing to do with him because of how abusive and gross he was. They all took my side when I left and said they were surprised I had stayed as long as I had. Just like he ended up losing his friend after claiming I was abusing his dogs that he gave me in the divorce. Yet he let the male pitbull go 3 years with demo mange which is painful and not treat it to make it go away forever. The female pitbull was super violent and would kill anything. I GOT the mange taken care of and he hasn't had mange now in 8 years. My ex was always spending his money on beer to take care of it well before we got together. Then after I took them with me the female became the sweetest dog in the world and got along with a lot of animals. So maybe stop ASSuming things and you won't make and ASS of yourself on a public forum. :)

I'm sorry for your loss. Stay strong, know there are many many many out there with open arms. Take care of the loved ones you have and may your wounds heal brother. It'll be hard and take a long time but stay strong and embrace love.

This has to be one of the bravest, rawest, most meaningful performances I’ve ever seen. How Mike held back the tears is a sheer tribute to the artist and the man. A beautifully poignant song that encapsulates the loss and pain Mike must feel everyday. RIP Chester Charles Bennington.

3 months later and the pain hasn’t faded. There are still times where I cry listening to Chester sing, watch a tribute to him on UA-cam or a video of Chester just being his goofy friendly awesome self. I didn’t know Chester personally (unfortunately) but his death hit me as if I lost a good friend. Thank you Chester for being an inspiration to many people (myself included). We will always miss you 😢

Yeah, I feel exactly the same way. I grew up with them as the majority of the music throughout my childhood, and when I began to sink into depression and the stress of my entire family in their own personal civil war, their music was my savior. There's peace, meaning, and emotion in every word, and it never fades. It's the best form of escape from this world I've ever found, and they've inspired me to attempt making my own musical career come true. I owe my life to them, and especially Chester, and so I broke down when he died... That feeling never goes away. The emptiness, the despair. And yet, the only thing that makes it manageable is to carry on his name, legacy, and passion. To not let him die in vain. I never want to forget him or the pain of his suicide, no matter how much it hurts. I find inspiration in the loss, and hope that I can help carry his passion for music and life in general on in my own music.

The Blue Eye Gamer I only recently started to bear hearing his voice knowing he isn't among us anymore, for a while I wasn't able to. For quite some time I couldn't do it, hearing his voice and knowing he is gone, every LP song I wouldn't bear to listen, I just couldn't do it. These days I got more open with a strong faith that he is in some better place , I choose to focus on his art which is his legacy and to keep him in my memory as an artist who made a difference to many people's lives , that's how I see him 😊
