How long did this take from start to finish?

The little bit of yarn you can see on the side when blocking was from a knot in the yarn making extra slack when undone. I moved the slack to the edge & secured it along the edge by using a backstitch.

I just found your channel and am enjoying your tutorials. I am cleaning up a DM 80, a Pinky and I have been working on a single bed Passap Monomatic 20. I wonder if you could do a sock? I would love to be able to knit socks on the DM 80.

Ooh, exciting- new machines and a monomatic 20 (I’m on the lookout to add one to my collection but they’re super rare where I am.) I’m glad you like the videos 😁. There is an older popular sock knitting tutorial on UA-cam by someone, so I was thinking of adding something a bit different for a sock tutorial, like stripes or multicolor- when inspiration strikes I’ll add it to my queue 🙂.

I look forward to seeing more videos from you. Where did you learn to knit on a Passap? I took a weekend seminar at Distinctive Knits near Cincinnati but I had just gotten my machines so I was too new to retain much. I am just getting into it again and am excited to get going. I love to hand knit socks but being able to whip out a pair on the DM80 would be awesome. Thanks for sharing your expertise. 😊

Thanks! I just posted the first two in a new series. I am self-taught (through guidebooks and internet forums). I'd love to host seminars in my sunny Santa Barbara - maybe people will want to come for vacation & knitting :P. But I think I'd need some more space and more machines first. I love sock knitting too - I have done Sock Madness on ravelry and made it to the final round twice, but can't sit and hand knit all day anymore with two small children. (have you tried it?) In fact, I started looking at machine knitting to make sock blanks for dyeing sock yarn, lol!
