My gosh so cool it happened to me a couple weeks ago. Some car went by blasting Black Sheep. Then in the store I'm getting 🍌 and a young lady with pink hair next to me humming it. I said "Seen them in concert"? We had a great talk!
what a great way for y'all to find Metric :) me personally, I want to give a shout out to my ex from ten years ago...metric stuck around way longer than she did 😂
Yes holy shit this song is amazing and if somehow an Alien race wanted to hear our version of music I would choose this 10000x over the garbage mumble rap everyone seems to listen to.
Emily. Your voice, the guys... Your lifes work keeps getting better and better. Thank you to speaking for us. Thank you for shareing your complications, our complications, an putting them to amazing music. Your gods in my mind. Thank you thank you thank you.

This song is amazing. The first time I heard it I wasn't sure how to feel but multiple listens helped me truly appreciate it. It's now my favorite Metric song, and this is coming from a long time fan.
Danny Campbell I felt the same way, I didn't know if I liked it at first but the more I played it the more I enjoyed it and then I ended up loving it. I find myself singing it in my head almost every day it's a great song.
+Danny Campbell I had the opposite reaction. I was jamming out within 30s.. it's rare for me to get so involved with a song the first go around but when it does, it is such an amazing feeling.
+Lana Del Bae the bleep bleep also turned me off at first listening, then I found the acoustic version #SongWithNoName and I fell in love with the song; then I came back to the album version and I feel in love with it as well. Now I still can't decide what version I prefer
Man, i remember when this song was new. It's pretty much been a decade. Life is awesome. Be thankful for what's happened. Don't be sad or mad. Be glad.
With eternal love, the stars above All there is and ever was I want it all, I want it all I want it all, I want it all A blade of grass, a grain of sand The moonlit sea, to hold your hand I want it all, I want it all I want it all, I want it all
ALA A My sweet love the best lover I ever had died of cancer last August 10, 2017 and she left metric we were going to be together one day but she had a crazy ass five a month battle of cancer and then died and I was a long-distance relationship we would’ve had to wait a few years but I would’ve waited for her forever hoping to find out love again and if there’s anybody out there I wants that kind of love where is my fucking email just don’t play games with me. bmille2121@gmail.com
Not sure if this is the intention of the song, but what I take from it is that it's describing the euphoria of being in love. Seemingly mundane things, "a blade of grass, a grain of sand" become incredible, one becomes excited about them, wanting everything in life, "all there is and ever was." A feeling I've experienced, but not in a few years.
I thought there was an environmental message to it, the litter scene, melting ice, wind farms etc We got rewarded, We got refused, We got distorted, We got confused. In other words valuing the simple things in life without the greed and destruction that has resulted.
The voice - it's like you hear her and don't want to not have that voice still going on in your head. Such an amazing band and a perfect video to boot.
IKR? Had her stuck in mine for years! And only part of the chorus too! I've only just now found the full song and associated band! It's such a relief to finally track down this earworm *ohmygawd!*
This song is life is humanity and us. I heard it back in 2015 for the first time when I used to work at Walgreens and ever since then it became one of my all time favorites
I listened this song in a Pull and Bear store in Barcelona in 2016 while I was working as a cashier and it remembers me so much to Brazil, idw but it brings me so many emotions
Im a longtime Metric fan but this album has been a slow burn. Bought it on release and initially couldn't listen to it . Now after so many months I'm LOVING it
I first heard this song while reading comic books in Hastings YEARS ago (Hastings has since gone bankrupt and closed) It's been stuck in my head all this time but I never knew enough of the lyrics to find it until recently! (Google Mic button) YES! YES! At long last! Finally! I'm so happy to FINALLY have found it! And it still *SLAPS* too!
I'm so pissed off that this incredible band has so many albums out and yet I've only heard one of their songs play on the radio ("Help, I'm Alive") I'm seeing comments from people talking about how they might be changing their sound to become more mainstream, if they are or if they are not, I completely trust in their judgment for their sound. Imagine being them and working so hard on music and making some seriously killer tracks and getting barely any recognition, they have less video views in total than some of these musicians get in just days! I think it's about time Metric REALLY gets to jump into the spotlight, they deserve it. I'm a longtime fan and I have enjoyed hearing their sound change over the years, I don't believe it's them selling out or trying to be mainstream, I think it's just them evolving as a band. I've got so much respect and admiration for Metric, keep rocking on!
+J Boodles "...comments...about how they might be changing their sound to become more mainstream, if the are or if they are not, I completely trust in their judgement for their sound." I completely agree with you! My favorite band for several years now. Lotta' integrity they have, in my book.
The song explores themes of acceptance and desire, reflecting on the balance between light and dark aspects of life. The lyrics convey a sense of wanting everything in life, from the biggest to the smallest things, while acknowledging that life has both positive and negative impacts large and small.
i walked into a Walgreens the other day and this song almost just started. i was like, yeeeah. Metric is intense to me. i can't help but really admire her, her mate, all the band.
just so much love for emily and the band .. even after all the cool videography i was like _yeah_!! to the band as a band with emily in shades and holding the mic .. love ..
Sin duda metric fue lo mejor que me pasó en el año. Volverme a sentir como cuando tenía 14 y escuchaba música electrónica esas joyitas que solo yo conocía y son tan hermosas.
Great song and Great production, not all the bands are brave enough to adapt the nowadays sounds to their own style but METRIC are doing it - right - keeping it. Congratulations!
_Finally!_ I _love_ this song! But I didn't know the title or the band, and I'd search for lyrics that I _thought_ I heard. And then I happily stumble upon it here!
I just discovered this band the other day. They played during the Canada day celebrations in Ottawa. The best part was seeing prime minister Trudeau sing along to this song.
This is song is refreshing and with a message for our times. Just yesterday I was on the same fligth with two members of Metric flying over the great expanse of the Atlantic Ocean and this song reminded me of what we need to value. I keppt playing it throughout the flight.
I changed my review, After the full album release. This is one of the best metric albums.}As a fan since 2006. I have heard some amazing Metric Records. }I lost intrest with the last album, but this one has some of the best metric songs on it.
Saw you guys last night in Raleigh opening for AWOLNATION. You guys were so dope!! I'll definitely be seeing Metric in march when they come to Richmond VA

Metric is so underrated and deserves far more international attention. Such a great band!!!!
This song is far ahead of its time.
Dear Emily, thank you for existing.
No one knows how badly I want her in my life.

it turned out to be a fun song. i almost stopped listening to it bc it's beep bleep part bothered me a little, but im glad i gave it a chance

This song cheers me up everytime I hear it.
+Akamaru Hell yea. Whenever I'm having a crappy day just throw this song on and I'm happy again haha.
+devin james actually it's a moonlit sea not moonlit seen
Me too.
+Saint318 you're not a moonlit seen?
+Navarog I have heard the song many times it's moonlight Sea I know.

Brilliant!!
This song made me remember what it was like being young and full of hope through vibes alone
Every time I am sad I listen to metric and it makes me feel so much happier
I don't think there is a single song from metric that I haven't liked. They always come out with a new sound but it always has metric feels.

@italkcrab I get that. I feel like Grow Up and Blow Away was the weirdest album for me, but I enjoyed it nonetheless
Yes!!! Exactly!!!!🤣✌🏻🙌
This band just gets it and I’ll never stop loving them for it.
🤩🥰🔥🖤🤘🏽yesssssss Definitely
Representing Toronto baby!!! Canadian bands are awesome!
They have matured so much in their latest album Art of doubt. One of the best I ever heard..
some how i missed that release.... but babe.... I I'm about to absorb it...
This song: when music causes so much bliss you can't even remember where your mind went when it stops.
Saw you last night budweiser stage Toronto. Best show I've been to in a very long time..

hope you have found it, or if not yet, that you will soon 😊 and I like your idea for the meaning of the song
I feel that. I haven't felt that in many years either. Starting to wonder if I ever will again to be honest.
I thought there was an environmental message to it, the litter scene, melting ice, wind farms etc We got rewarded, We got refused, We got distorted, We got confused. In other words valuing the simple things in life without the greed and destruction that has resulted.

Songs like this is why you're by far my favorite band. So phenominal
I listened this song in a Pull and Bear store in Barcelona in 2016 while I was working as a cashier and it remembers me so much to Brazil, idw but it brings me so many emotions
I don't see how it is possible to not like this, the song is so catchy!
There is sometimes a song that just makes you feel good: this is that song.
I've listened to this hundreds of times. Thank you so much for you

I remember the opus "Grow up and blow away"... Since, I' have never forgotten listening to the METRIC songs.
I spent months trying to find this song. I almost didn’t think it existed but that chorus was stuck in my head. I’m cured thank you!
This is so good! We're SO EXCITED to see and play with you at Voodoo.
This is my wife's favorite Metric tune. From the first time she heard it she was singing along.
"Bored Hot 100" >>> the shade they throw at Billboard lol
Metric rocks! \m/
+Jon Whatthehell Glad you notice that bro, is a very acute critic ;)
+Jon Whatthehell I've said this already but I got major satisfaction seeing them burn the billboard chart, even if its a parody

If you’re here in 2020 you’re a legend.

+J Boodles I actually hear a lot of their songs on the radio! I hear them a bit on top 40 but mostly on indie/alternative stations
Pagans in Vegas sounds like Old World Underground meets Synthetica, so no "selling out" to me.
+J Boodles "...comments...about how they might be changing their sound to become more mainstream, if the are or if they are not, I completely trust in their judgement for their sound."
I completely agree with you! My favorite band for several years now. Lotta' integrity they have, in my book.
Maddy Lisinski I'll have to check out some indie stations online because there aren't any stations here that play them (Tampa,Fl.)

Emily and Band blow me away. The best Lyrics out there Bar none.......

You have a REALLY big spider on your head.
I know, but I really love this song.
Metric has the Soul. That's it. That's why.

This video has a deep message! Amazing lyrics!
With eternal love, stars above, all there is and ever was. A blade of grass, a grain of sand, the moonlit seas, to hold your hand. Wanting the simple things in life that were kept from us that left us in the shad

I never thought it would make such a good song.
The chorus to this song drives me up a WALL!!!
