My favorite city is Goldenrod City from Pokemon Silver. Pokemon Silver was the first Pokemon game I've ever played so everything connected to it is extremely nostalgic. Additionality, it has so many things to do: lottery, a casino, a bike shop, the underground battles and even NPCs giving Pokemon haircuts! I always loved exploring this City.

Goldenrod Gym wasn't that hard, Morty & Jasmine both have always given me far more trouble. Jasmine's beauty & toughness made her possibly the most memorable gym leader in Johto.

Oh my goodness. Jubilife City took me back, man. I remember when I first saw the buildings in Diamond and Pearl when they came out and being blown away. The feels, man... the feels.

I love how back in the days you had to go to an actual store to play the demo's. And they had lotteries to win the game and like some extra stuff :D

Yes, but as a resident of Paris I couldn't help but see there the fantasy that the Japanese have about this city which is far from being the one they imagine.

Lilycove is my favorite city in Hoenn, Verdanturf is my favorite town in Hoenn. Both represent two different ideals of living for me: Lilycove has culture (the art museum), shopping, and the advantage of being a coastal city. Lilycove is also adjacent to my favorite routes (Route 120 & 121). Whereas Verdanturf represents quiet, peaceful living in a beautiful, lush little town.

    • @AnokiReChord
      @AnokiReChord 6 років тому +2

Even though in Ruby/Sapphire and ORAS there is a Contest Hall in Slateport City, Verdanturf, Fallarbor Town, I also think of Lilycove as the "main" place for contests. Though contests are not my favorite aspect of Pokémon in general, I did enjoy them in R/S/E and I really loved them in ORAS (Sinnoh not so much...) Another feature of Lilycove that I like is the Pokémon Trainer Fan Club, especially in R/S/E. There's something gratifying about being acknowledged by a group of NPCs in-game after beating the Elite 4. Also Lilycove has an actual beach, which come to think of it most coastal cities in Pokémon regions do not. Verdanturf is such a small town I don't see how we couldn't be neighbors. 😃

That Verdanturf music takes me back to my middle school days playing pokemon Sapphire on my silver GBA (which I still have). I always found Soottopolis city very unique and one of my favorites as it has its own unique way of entering that no other city in any pokemon game has. Plus I love the atmosphere and the history of that town.
P.S I've noticed a lot of you started playing pokemon during Pokemon Diamond/Pearl. You people are making me feel old considering that I was 17 when those games were released lol.If anyone was wondering my first pokemon game was Blue when I got it for my 9th birthday back in 1999.

Lilicove seems like a pretty nice place to live.
Safari, department store, museum, tourist hotel, harbour, beach, Pokemon Fan Club, & Contest hall.
Being right beside the sea, it would likely have good & cozy weather as well...
My favourite city for sure :)
    Only downside, no gym.

  • @shytendeakatamanoir9740
    @shytendeakatamanoir9740 7 років тому +30

It's hard to pick only 6 honestly, and I don't remember Sinnoh very much since I haven't played through it for a while.
And I won't go back on the city already mentioned. Ecruteak is also where you fight Suicune in Crystal, which was such an epic fight. The first time fighting a Legendary seemed meaningful.
I like Undella town a lot, because it has two faces, both accompanied by great tracks. In Summer, it's your standard bustling vacation place for rich people, but it's when tourists leave that it become really interesting. The calm, almost melancholic soundtrack, the town completely deserted. What I feel is... serenity. With such contrasting feeling it evoke, it's the best demonstration of the Season mechanic of gen 5.
There's also Aquacorde Town in Kalos. The town where everything begins. It's really small, with nearly nothing, but it's where you meet your friends for the first time ; where you get you're starter ; This town and Vaniville are almost always single town, so it's an expansion of your village. It's the best town of beginning.
Lumiose City is also notable because despite how large it is, it doesn't really feels like a metropolis. You have café everywhere, and it's easy to get lost. It's really a strange feeling.

Emperor Cubone Those two are one of the easier ways to fill a pokedex in gen 3, and you will be a double battle pro by the end. Besides, the spectacle of seeing your pokemon battle in 3D never wore off on my 15-year-old-self. Not so amazing these days, but still cool.

When your number 1 came around, the music shot me, right in the heart. I LOVE Verdanturf SO much despite my first games being SoulSilver and Diamond. My friends all had third gen games, and I watched Flipnotes (when Flipnote Studio for the DSi still had Hatena) with this music... and later, when I had a computer, I looked up this theme to soothe my nerves.
It's just such a verdant, relaxing town, and a great break from the volcanoes and rocks. I loved the remixed theme of ORAS too. It's beautiful....

Wow, I actually, mockingly, said to myself that Verdanturf Town would be #1 on this list just before the #1 reveal, because my favorite Town/City is Verdanturf and our opinions were very different on entries 6 - 3 and besides, no one ever likes Verdanturf it seems. To then see Verdanturf at the top of the list genuinely made jump up out of excitement and how surprised I was! Great vid, keep it up! You truly deserve more subs.

Driftveil is the best city from unova. Not only does it have a cool look and a awesome theme it also has a great gym leader and the interesting cold storage. And let's not forget what replaced the cold storage in BW2 - The Pokemon World Tournament, the coolest post game feature of any pokemon game.

Ooooh, I've always loved Verdanturf. It was so cute and quaint. Plus when the theme came through my speakers when I played ORAS for the first time, I just got all choked up. Something about Verdanturf reminds me of all the good parts of where I live (a small town but close to a big city), and when I visited in ORAS I got a huge wave of nostalgia and was reminded of all the reasons I still live where I do.

Your list is impeccable, definitely had most of my favourite towns in there. I think favourite could have to be Ecruteak City but if I was going to live somewhere in the Pokemon world, it would have to be Solaceon Town. It's big for a town but not too big and still fairly close to nature and relaxed. Although if I could have the Goldenrod g/s/c theme playing any matter where I was I totally would, I used stay in Goldenrod for hours and plaster my gameboy to my ear just hear that bad boy play.

Ecruteak is easily #1 for me. I'm a bit disappointed you didn't mention any thing about the music being remade. I really, REALLY prefer the original music. The remake sounds vastly different to fit the atmosphere. I get what they were going for but I don't care for it.

I scrolled down for a few minutes when I noticed not really many people mentioned Seafolk Village. I love that village, mainly because of the nighttime theme. I used it to hunt for shinies and ultra beasts in Ultra sun, and got to hear both of the themes a lot. The nighttime theme is way better in my opinion, but both are pretty great.
Also, I think the list has some pretty nice choices, good job!

8:36 Ecruteak is one of the reasons I love Johto, but hate trying to balance it in a ROM hack. Since it's so open and you can literally go as far as the Lake of Rage from there before even battling Morty (Since you do have strength, and the badge to use it), I love that. Trying to balance that though...not so much.

  • @Locormus2
    @Locormus2 6 років тому +2

This is actually quite hard. I can see where you're coming from on a lot of these, especially Jubilife and Ecruteak. I think I should just go by Region and hope I can keep it at 10 as opposed to 6 (or 7).
    Kanto:
    - Fuschia City. The zoo and safari zone, the sea nearby. Not too big, not too small. Love it. Cerulean is a close second though.
    Johto:
    - I know people don't often pick this one, but Mahogany Town. It's so quaint and it reminds me of the town I lived when I lived in the US. Just a blip on the map in the mountains with just a hint of a long history and one place nearby where people are still drawn to that brings traffic to the town. Surfing past mt.mortar always gives me that feeling of homecoming. Azalea's my nr2 pick.
    Hoenn:
    - Lavaridge Town, Fortree City, Mossdeep or Sootopolis I honestly can't choose. These towns are so intune with their surrounding landscape that I just can't make up my mind.
    Sinnoh:
    - Jubilife. The moment you enter that city you just get that feeling that your going on an adventure larger than anything before. Eterna City is a very close second though, as that would probably be the town I'd pick to live in.
    Unova:
    - Opelucid City (Ancient). It just feels great walking there, like a vacation or something. Icirrus Town and Lacunosa Town are stiff competition though. And Humilau, just because it looks so nice and warm.
    Kalos:
    - Cyllage City. I love how it's tucked into the cliff, is right by the sea, next to those ancient stones and has the cycling track. I also really, really like the gym, often going rock climbing there just for the heck of it. I honestly can't say that any other gym ever had the same revisiting value.
    Alola:
    - Honestly.. None really spring to mind. But if I had to pick, then it would be Paniola Town because of the nice feel, proximity to Heahea City, Lush Jungle, Brooklet Hill and.. the daycare.

My favorite City is Fortree City , I just wanted to be surrounded with trees as a kid, since we don't have that much here in the city. Also the grind was well worth it to go there, as well as it is where, Tropius and Absol live. You also get a Castform (if you are lucky a feebas) a long the way. I just felt at home when I'm in Fortree , I also don't mind the kecleon that is blocking the gym.

Lumiose is my favorite for sure. It has a TON of stuff to do, and the up close scrolling 3d made it even more fascinating. I have spent HOURS in this place. One of my favorites has always been Lavender Town (particularly in FireRed/LeafGreen) simply because of how great the music for that town was. Yes, the town itself could have had more there, but I remember loving whenever I'd get to Lavender Town and the eerie feeling the music gave the town.

My Top 6 Favorite Citys have to be:
#6: Undella Town: A great place for Vacation during the Summer and a nice and quiet place to live during the other seasons.
#5: Seafolk Village: It just feels so homey, with such a low population, everyone is bound to know you and are more than welcoming to their little boat town, that's what I love about this place.
#4: Po Town: This place is a mixed bag, on one hand it's an old town taken over by Team Skull and filled with hostile Grunts you need to fight. But on the other hand it has a morbid sense of family there, these Grunts, they failed their island challenge and can't face the shame of going back to their families, so they come here with others that relate and comfort them, it's admittedly pretty heartwarming.
#3: Driftviel City: DAT MUSIC THO, in all seriousness however this town strikes a perfect balance between a welcoming community and a huge city. It has a huge trade center and a massive battle facility, as well as a bunch of people selling crops in the local market, hell they even accept some former Team Plasma Members, if that's not welcoming I don't know what is! Also there's a cave where I can always go to adventure and catch Legendarys, so there's always that!
#2: Panolia Town: This place has something for everyone, need to visit the big city? Just take a walk South and you'll reach Heahea City, need to go to your next trial? Just head North to Brooklet Hill! Want to watch some intense battles? Go East to the Battle Royal Dome!
#1: Snowbelle City: Though my personal list would just be Unova and Alola? Think again. The first thing, this place has a woods to the East that leads to a Pokémon Sanctuary, thats pretty *cool*, the West Leads to Victory Road, a required stop for any and all Trainers. And the Gym Leader is one of the nicest people I've seen in the Pokémon World, he comforts the abused Pokémon, gives some good advice when you battle him, and gives you a free pathway after you beat him, what a Guy!

If Gamefreak asked you to design a city or town and you could make it anything you want, what kind of city would you make? I would make a city that is split in 2 parts: a pretty standard town and a dark creepy town. The Pokemon Center and the gym (normal + ghost) would be in between, and the evil side would be a dark mirrored version of the nice side. The npc's would all have a counterpart in the other side of the city wich would be the exact opposite. Example: at the nice side, there is a character that really loves Pokemon, but his/her counterpart would only care about strong EV's and IV's.

    • @tyrant-den884

Jubilie City... Nostalgia overload (which is strange since it’s g4, it’s not that old and it was far from being my first pokemon game). Also, while you have good points about Nimbasa (thanks for the way to remember its english name by the way... NimBAsaaa), Unova will always rhyme with Castelian city. I love this town, I love it’s size, I love its musical theme, I love it.

Celadon City was my hub in Kanto and still stands out as my favourite town. Game Corner for your minigame entertainment and Department Store for easy access to any goodie you might need. It's also only a quick bicycle trip down away from getting to the Safari and I always did enjoy going up and down any cycling road. Celadon City would definitely be my top pick.
I'd also have to give it to Lumiose City for being the only city where I got lost. Took me a while to get my bearings there once the full city was unlocked. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I took a wrong turn and had to do three quarters of a circle instead of the one quarter I would have had to do if I had turned the right way, but I never disliked that. It's a great city to run around in with tons to do.

Hearthome, Lumiose, Fortree, Castelia and Snowbelle are definitely there, though I was surprised to find that Ballonlea crept its way into the top six as well, especially being such a new addition to the games. I adore Nacrene City in Unova. It's probably because of all the parallels to the town where I live. Close to a big city (In my case, Philadelphia, and in Unova, Castalia). Surrounded by trees, a centralizing library, little cafes, it all just kind of fits. The place is so calm.

    My favorite towns:
5: New Bark Town... I love old Johto, and I love this time... It's always seemed like one of the most peaceful towns in the entire franchise- Wait- What do you mean professor elm was robbed? NO SHUT UP- As i was saying, it's always seemed like one of the most peaceful towns in the entire franchise and I just love it.
4: Po Town, and yes I am counting it. Team Skull is hilarious, and I love how they don't even resist when you stroll into the pokemon center... whats even more hilarious is you can practically crop a meme onto this towns door, because it's pretty ironic that it is RIGHT next to the kahuna's office/police station.
3: Ecruteak city... Do I really have to explain this? Johto is g8 m8... this town gave off some nice vibes...
2: Hau'oli city. Hau'oli city is that perfect balance between peaceful and ABSOLUTELY HECTIC... On one hand, you have the giant city, but on the other, you have your house that has literally one neighbor being some crazy professor who takes pokemon attacks. you also have the trainer school, mall, malasada shop, (Shoutout to Hau,) Tourist Bureau, and police station, along with a marina, a massive mansion, and a bunch of random grass patches to find cool pokemon in! all over, it's just a great town.
1: Malie City. I'm aware that this list was VERY bias including only johto and alola towns, but those are me 2nd and 1st favorite regions respectively! They both give off great vibes. Why do I prefer johto over alola? because if you want johto, Malie City is right on Ula'Ula island. Infact, Malie does johto... BETTER than Johto. the music is amazing, and it's a beautiful town overall.

    My list of cities:
6.Castelia City: Was amazed on how big they made it with limited technology back in the days. It has so many buildings and alleyways.
5.Twinleaf Town- Hands down the best starting town in all of pokemon.
4.Goldenrod City- Huge , nice music, and my fave gym leader.
    3. Mossdeep City - There is literally a space center. What more could you ask for.
2.Jubilife City-same reason emperor cubone picked it
    1.Snowpoint City-.........................................

(using my dad's account) I love camphier too! I was disappointed you didn't mention the berry farm on route 7, though. Berry farming is, to me, a tranquil alternative to battling that rewards you w/ useful berries! Also, isn't it Route 7 music you use often in your videos? in any case, Cute little Camphier has to be my favorite town in all the pokemon games.

I loved this so I decided to do it. I don't really know all time favorites, so I'll do my favorite in each region.
Kanto: Celadon City. It is a great mix of city and nature, and lots of fun. Plus Saffron City is conveniently near (as long as you have tea for the guard).
Johto: Olivine City. I hate the beach, but I do like being near the ocean. Plus I'm sure residents can take the boat to Goldenrod for much more, though I guess it's not extremely far. Also Jasmine is one of my favorite leaders because of our similar personalities and favorite type.
Hoenn: Either Lavaridge Town or Mauville City from ORAS. Lavaridge is so cool-looking while Mauville is Mauville. I went between both so many times I know the route very well. I really love a lot of places in Hoenn too.
Sinnoh: Veilstone City. I found myself going back there so many times my second time playing Platinum and had fun. Sunnyshore and Jubilife are up there too.
Unova: Virbank City. Another city I kept finding myself in while playing Black 2. I don't know what it is, I think there's just a lot of hidden places to explore. Plus there's music, and like many others, it's pretty convenient to get to a nearby city because of its boat.
Kalos: Couriway Town. I have this huge idea for a gym, and it's located here. That's pretty much the main reason. Unforunately it's not right next to Lumiose City, though maybe that train station connects there.
Alola: I am currently stuck at Kiawe's trial and never played an Alola game before, so I don't know most of the region at all.
Galar: Very hard one since they're almost all pretty cool. I really like Ballonlea, but would never actually live there. Maybe Hammerlocke since that's where I keep going because I spend a lot of time nearby in the Wild Area.

I guess if I had to pick a favorite in Galar it might be Hammerlocke as well. I would've said Motostoke but it's too segmented and hard to get around to everywhere...

Camphrier town reminds me of my hometown, close to a big city, has interesting lure nobody actually cares about, is mostly used as a rest stop while travelling (specifically bicyclers and hikers because there isn’t a highway close to my town), and the music is great in camphrier town, camphrier town is therefore my favorite town in the pokemon world

You should do “top 6 Pokémon story logics I have a problem with” for either Pokémon as a whole or specific regions, stuff like how a 10 year old new trainer is the only hope to stop the evil team that nobody else has tried to stop in the past and stuff like that

I think my favorite city is Virbank city from Black2 and White2, reasons being that I love small boating areas, not to mention the amount of Pokemon you can catch near the location are some of my favorites including, Lillipup, Mareep, Riolu, Growlithe, and Magnemite, and they have a little farm near the are I would love to visit.
