Just record on the ground whilst the drone is airborne. The sound of the loco will drown out the drone, if not fly higher and use a zoom. Plenty of other creators manage perfectly well.

Could we please get the original sound? The recent videos are all silent.

All drone footage is always silent! Ground based have the original sound. There are add on ways, but once you've heard one prop you've heard them all

@@RotherValleyRailwayRVR Well, I don't know what a prop is, but I make this suggestion: You use TWO cameras, one terrestrial, the other celestial, of which the handheld camera records the steam engine and the points settings etc sound and vision. In the editing, you let the sound run through uninterrupted but swap visually between handheld and dronebased. You don't even have to exactly synchronise drone and handheld, because the eye corrects for the continuous (original) sound track. Voilà.

Thank you. Yes you’re right. Prop = propeller.
To use a second camera/mic would work, if I knew what was going on where. The opportunities for filming are not staged but simply a consequence of operations and my opportunism.
I will try to consider that for future efforts.
