- My interview with British composer Nick Bicât, who wrote the soundtrack for this Christmas classic! Nick speaks about his role in the film's creation, as well as his hands-on approach to film scoring. Stick around till the end to hear his advice to young composers!

Best scrooge film my by far
Awesome Josiah. Thank you for sharing this.
Interesting. Thanks!
Would love to see and hear the opening performance of this video in it’s entirety. Thanks for posting this “Behind the Soundtrack”
Thank you so much for covering this fantastic film and score! I’ve loved both since I was very young.
Is your quintet arrangement of the main theme posted on UA-cam in full?
Josiah, I love the beginning of the video sooo much! Can you imagine that I watched it more than 10 times.. lol
What an excellent interview! I so enjoyed your discussion with British composer Nick Bicât, unfolding his approach to allowing the story telling theme to direct the composition emotionally, rather than a predetermined style which would not suit the narrative, as it would not have the freedom to complement the passion and mood of the events in this classical moral tale by Charles Dickens! Thank you for posting this, Josiah. The central Scriptural theme was artfully captured: "So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom" (Psalm 90:12).
I had no idea the composer was still alive. His tracks used to scare me shitless as a child.
I have loved the score for the 1984 production of A Christmas Carol, and enjoyed the movie very much as well.
The theme and God bless us plays through my head this time of year.
I haven’t arranged the entire theme, but I definitely should!
my favorite version of the classic ......... thanks for this
Love the composer’s main theme for this movie.
