Last year I discover Strauss.. To me was only Salome , Rosenkavalier an sinfonics...Now I felt in love with Ariadna and .. TATIANA!!! I hve not proper word to express how much I enjoy this strong, tender voice and artist.. but as ever happens, the best , pass away too too too early!!!
@MastersoftheOpera I knew Ms. Jurinac personally. We lived in the same town and she taught a friend. Her interpretation is great but the orchestra is being sat on to keep them down. Troyanos really had a horn that would cut through big, out of control orchestras. Both were great interpreters and moving.
LALALAND I’m seriously jealous, vicariously Starstruck - to hear those voices, Like, in the flesh? - life’s choices, Alas, have been otherwise for me.. Bonita’s a fish yet untasted... sadly. 🐠 ua-cam.com/video/VB9Qt-xLHt4/v-deo.html
Seefried and Jurinac (both sopranos) were the greatest Komponists of my generation and have been unmatched since probably Seefried the greatest interpreter of a role created by Lotte Lehmann. Ludwig was also quite excellent. Troyanos is definitely a Mezzo but her high notes are not strained though her voice itself is not quite as beautiful as those of Seefried (playing the Komponist as a young Beethoven) or Jurinac ( more of a young Mozart). I think the Komponist is one of the most compelling roles ever created by Richard Strauss
Any chance of uploading the duet between the composer and zerbinetta that occurs before this aria? I've been searching youtube and there doesn't seem to be one video copy of it, just audio. If you could that'd be awesome!
One of my favourite voices

Tatiana Troyanos- one of my favourite singers. Every recording of her is a precious legacy to us.
Fabulous. This mezzo has a killer high range.
WOW!!! Troyanos at her best!!! Thank you for posting this, and may her soul rest in peace!
She is fantastic!!!
Oh my god! Isn't she amazing? Thank you for posting this!!

I saw her live in NYC with James King and Edita Gruberova in her debut. You may be jealous...it was great.

Vraiment le meilleur Komponist, pour un Mezzo ce n'est pas un air facile! Et elle le fait comme ci de rien était!!
Mother of god--fab.
