I appreciate all of your videos. Word of advise, I see your bushes close to your Air conditioner. That outside unit needs to breathe to be efficient, and last longer :-). Thanks for the advise on the bug killer!
You were applying it in a heavy full spray method versus misting. That's a lot of spray solution. Looks like I'm going to need a lot more than my gallon container just to do the exterior of my 1200 sf home. Thanks.
He basically wrote lines and curls with that stream spray on the wall and on soil. His perimeter is nearly useless. Using mist spray is beyond important when making a perimeter.
When you spray indoor, does it stain the moldings and do you have to be out of the house for a period of time before you can come back in? Product seems to be effective but also harmful. Thanks.
Did You ever get an answer on that? That's what I came to UA-cam to find out myself. I want to know if I need to leave the house with my family for several hours, or not.
@@rdwytnblue might be a little late but I'm an exterminator and I have a couple recommendations. So when you use these products they will readily enter your body while the product is wet once it has dried then it is good to be around touched etc this will take a minimum of an hour. I also recommend wearing long sleeve pants shirt closed toe shoes and a respirator do not spray or let people in the house until the spray dries.
The automatic measuring bottle was confusing, I didn't know do I loosen both lids when pouring? Also, for mosquitos, for heavy application using Talistar P it says use 1 oz per gallon water. I wasted some using the fancy bottle. But I've read good reviews on Talistar P, if I can just figure out the damn bottle.
Thanks great video, I have a few questions. When spraying it around the outside windows is it safe for others to be inside of the house? I noticed that our windows are not insulated properly and I am worried about spraying it around the windows and perhaps a little of the spray getting inside. Any suggestions?
There is also a Talstar in a sand granules or generic sand granule of the same ingredient that you can use and works immediately. You can use a spreader for outside your house and a cup and blow it under baseboards. No smell and safer.
Great video. What happens if you spray more than 3 ft up your wall? I'd like to spray all my windows, and they're highter than 3ft above the ground. Also, how do you dispose of left over?
out of curiosity, how many gallons of solution do you end up using to cover the perimeter of your house ? and is it worthwhile to use the hose attachment sprayer for your lawn, or does it run through too much of the chemical for it to be cost effective?
For my home, I use about 2.5 to 3 gallons around the perimeter. I have not used it to spray the lawn, but be careful when spraying on a windy day as the mist can blow onto you.
What type of bugs you get in your home? Seems like overkill. I've never needed to use any chemicals around the house or garden. Prefer hand weeding and just keeping surfaces clean inside the house. The residual spray near your front door will end up sticking to your shoes and get into the house too. Bad if you have little ones around
Bifen IT is cheaper and its the same active ingredient. Secondly, be aware that Talstar has a shelf life of only 3 years so don't buy more than you can use in 3 years.

From Talstar P instruction - Indoor Use: Apply as a coarse, low pressure, crack and crevice or spot spray to areas where pests hide, such as baseboards, corners, storage areas, closets, around water pipes, doors and windows, attics and eaves, behind and under refrigerators, cabinets, sinks, furnaces, stoves, the underside of shelves, drawers and similar areas. Do not use as a space spray. Pay particular attention to cracks and crevices.
dial2fast thanks, maybe I read the wrong section where it said don’t use indoor applications, maybe it means indoor containers for the product. I have toddler and 2 dogs at home, sounds the product is really strong and could be dangerous. Thanks for all the detailed reply, appreciate it!
@@aikeber1984 As a general rule for my home, and I have a dog and kids also, if I don't have any big pest problem inside the home, I don't spray inside. If I see the occasional spider once every couple of months, for me that's not a big pest problem inside. However I do spray around the entire home every 3-4 months (as shown in the video). This seems to have worked for me at keeping pest out, and it's been 6 years since making this video. Now I did spray the inside of my home with the first 2-3 treatments 6 years ago, but once I noticed no more bugs in the home, I didn't have to spray inside anymore. Only the outside. As for indoor use, do not broadcast spray this chemical all over your inside space. You can only apply it on the baseboard, or behind plumbing lines, or behind cabinets, etc. So you are only spot treating the area inside the home. Also pay attention to walls that are outside facing since bugs are coming from the outside. I also spray the inside perimeter of my garage as bugs will show up there often. Make sure you keep this stuff away from your kids and pet.
+Gregory Briggs I believe is 1 oz concentrate for each gallon. It's been couple months since my last application, but the manual tells you what to use for indoor or outdoor. I still love it as it kept all the critters out of my house.
Temprid sc, suspend sc, hi-yield 38 permethrin are good alternatives to this pesticide. It all depends on what you're trying to control because these are all broad spectrum pesticides.
Deomon is also good, but the wetable powder stains. The Max version is oil based. Temprid is NOT one I would use for general use because it also has a synthetic nicotine derivitive, which makes it more a second-line product. I would personally recommend saving this one for bed-bugs or second-line treatments for a callback. Other than Demand is also great. If you are thinking of Temprid, try Temop instead. It has only a Pyrethroid, so you are saving the other active ingrediant as a secondary.
Word of advice to everyone... You want to have a distance of 4/5 feet between shrubs and your house. Pests use vegetative root system to access your house as well.
first off talstar is only good for about a month, so if you want to spray it, talstar P is for use by unlicensed people. If you truly want prevention or up to a 95% reduction rate, use a certified pest controller or licensed professional. There is so much more to pest control than this person is telling you. Half of the list is direct contact IE spraying them directly, they dont mention that...
Thanks for doing this video, now doing my own pest control, since I applied treatment, only a couple bugs, works great.

Just curious, what does going up the wall 3 feet accomplish? Does the product need three feet of chemical to insect contact to kill?
The 3 feet I am spraying is to make sure the bugs don't crawl up the wall. Bugs will travel everywhere it finds access into the home.
