Filippo Contigiani I don’t know what those fucking idiots at next level games were thinking ruining his character like that just make the LM King Boo and Main series King Boo separate characters already Nintendo their personalities are far too different even by Mario standards. (Also King was calling all the ghost useless by the way not just boos)
@@jonatantrajceski9077 well the Luigi's Mansion series is my third favorite Mario series and my second favorite spin-off Mario series. So I am a big fan of my profile picture didn't give it away.
NOOOOOOOO YOUR RIGHT GOOIGI! I SAW "10" KING BOOS TODAY but oddly 1 of them has ass cancer tell me how that works in the game universe humans we watch you from your game consles we also like them theorys keep it up
So basically King Boo is just a regular boo with a crown and ruler of the boos, and anytime he get's a power gem on his crown, his power increases and turns mad and crazy alongside his fellow boo people and trying to put Mario, Luigi and the Mushroom people into paintings. I'm kinda agree that E-Gadd is secretly evil and more crazy that usual and returns King Boo to his evilish form by giving him back the 2nd gem just for the sake of his ghost research. Maybe in Dark Moon he didn't have anything to do with freeing King Boo and got another power gem on the process. The gem in Dark Moon is the same from the 3th game, so E-Gadd could give it to him easely since Luigi didn't sold it to build himself a mansion like in the 1st game. This time around, E-Gadd keep the money for himself and keep the gem from Luigi at the end of Dark Moon
No, it's not confirmed at all. In fact, if you played the arcade version of Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon, you can see the Luigi's Mansion version of King Boo but without the gem on his crown. The gem definitely doesn't change his appearance.
Jimmy McCarty well king boo does keep being the one who gets defeated by Luigi in luigis mansion so king boo is probably just annoyed and unhappy with being defeated by Luigi 24/7.
Deshaud DX they probably only had Luigi go down a laundry Shute so there’d be someone to save the Toads,Peach&Mario other wise if Luigi was trapped in a painting too they’d have to create someone for us to play with to save Luigi,Mario,Peach&The Toads. I mean we’d kind of need someone to play with going through the hotel to save those trapped in the paintings even if Luigi had been trapped too.
Phoenix Storm Jr. I said games IAm not saying bowser can’t also see himself as the opposite I just said the games since most games either have Luigi or Mario’s name in the title so the storytelling would also be in the characters point of views.
Buuigi He means that we the player look at the mansion games from Luigi’s perspective. From egads point of view, he could still look like a normal boo with a crown.
My theory is that the King Boo from Luigi's Mansion is THE King Boo, he's the king of the kings While the other King Boo, he's just here to take the other's role when he's not there, like a general which is why we see him more often, cuz Luigi's Mansion King Boo is too busy being stuck in a painting/Vaccum Cleaner to command his entire army
8:52. Actually, in Luigi’s Mansion 1, he states how he despised how he despises how Luigi kept vacuuming up all his “friends”. So he does see the other Boo’s as friends.
I agree, but in this case the Luigi's Mansion King Boo acts completely different from the others, and ecen in the actua story of that spin-off series, King Boo is actually released just right before the game starts, so there would be no time for him to go karting or play tennis. I know what will you say, *Oh but Bowser is evil too and in the sports spin-off he can very well hang on with Mario and Peach* No, Bowser is not evil, he just wants to beat Mario to a pulp and marry Peach so that she can bake him a delicious cake, as you can see, in their last important encounter (Super Mario Odyssey) Bowser again tried to kidnapp Peach, defeat Mario, then get defeated by Mario, and what happened? Those two just pat their backs as Peach rejected both. At this point, Mario and Bowser are rivals, not enemies. King Boo's case? He straight up wants to murder and/or trap Luigi and the rest in paintings for all eternity, he's not Luigi's rival, he's his archenemy, a real threat that could end not only the Mushroom Kingdom, but the entire world.
@@lurker4552 The main games pretty much confirms that the spin-offs are "canon", as in Sunshine the FLUUD is creation of E.Gadd, and the fact that in Color Splash Bowser straight up references Kart racing.
@@lurker4552 An easteregg is a hidden thing, if its shown in the normal gameplay its called a reference. While the Go Kart thing in Color Splash could be a reference, E.Gadd in Sunshine is not, as FLUUD himself says that he was created by professor E Gadd.
I’ve always thought that the King Boo from Luigi’s Mansion is a different character. He’s more cruel than even Bowser, and even gets bent on goals like collapsing the entire dimension, while in the other games King Boo is more goofy, like his subjects. Sure, characters like Bowser are villains one day and playing sports with you the next, but never anything to the extent of King Boo’s pure malicious intent for the world at large, so I think that combined with his different appearance, and the fact that King Boo from Luigi’s Mansion seems to be sealed away at the end of each game and freed almost directly prior to the events of the next, I think there’s no way that the two are the same character. Side note, I think it is confirmed that King Boo from Sunshine is made of goo from Bowser Jr., like most of the other enemies in the game.
Good point, also they have had several years to update the king boo from the sports/party games but have chosen not to, suggesting that either it's two different kings, or the same king in seperate stages also note, there are other "high command" boos, such as big boo, boolossus, and the easily forgotten captain boo.
I promblem the goofy king boo you are talking about was the one that said he would trap Mario in a painting showing that he is the same king boo who did it in the Luigi's Mansion games and said that he will rip up paper Mario if they dared attack him and messed with Luigi's mind by creating clones of Mario. And didn't forget Luigi's Mansion king boo did all what he because he didn't like what Mario did to his fellow boos, instantly ran away when he saw Luigi with the poltergust, mistakes Luigi for Mario despite already knowing Luigi was in the mansion making a fool out of himself in the process and instead of killing him or putting him in the painting he blew him away and keep on falling for his traps in darkmoons final fight. Both clearly shows treats from each other so it is a huge possibility they are the same.
@@aaronjones6299 Ignore the Gooigi guy, he's incredibly stupid and knows little to nothing about the Luigi's Mansion series. You are right though Ace, he is a different King Boo.
10:49 Actually, the Dark Moon has a pacifying effect on the ghosts of Evershade Valley. It’s only when the Dark Moon is broken into pieces and corrupted by King Boo that the ghosts go crazy. (Edit: grammar)
I'm not even sure if he intended to break it into little pieces, or if the way he corrupted it, overloaded and then ended up shattering the moon all across the valley.
@@hildcit He didn't corrupt it. At the end of the game, putting the Dark Moon back together calms all the ghosts back down to their pacified state from the prologue.
I stick by the 2 King Boos theory. There's King Boo, master of illusion. Works for himself and is cruel and devilishly evil. And there's King Boo, King of the Boos. He works for Bowser and is pretty much just a trickster. EDIT: I no longer believe in this theory. It's clear Nintendo sees them as the same person, and they are explicitly called the same person occasionally. The reason LM King Boo looks different is likely just what King Boo looks like when he's super angry.
It seems plausible but it's still so weird to me. Why would there arbitrarily be two King Boos, y'know? Espicially since they use the same voice clips. I'll only firmly believe this if they appear together at the same time.
The King Boo from Sunshine could be a childlike interpretation of the regular King Boo, with him being goofier and looking more exaggerated, hence it being made by Jr like a child's drawing
Something I would like to mention: King boo may need to recharge the gem, so while waiting, he doesn't use it and doesn't do big activities, like Luigi's Mansion.

Actually it’s like this: Luigi’s mansion series: King Boo possessed by gem Mario sunshine: Drunk casino ghost Other Super Mario games: Totally real King Boo King Boo can’t be a bad guy, he probably was possessed by the gem
When I was a kid I thought that the gems were chaos emeralds and that there would be 7 Luigi’s mansion games and Luigi just returns the emeralds to sonic.
Luigi: *give 6 emeralds to sonic and is about to hand the last one too him* Sonic: Don’t touch the last one or el- Luigi: *touches it like a savage* Luigi: AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sonic: ya know, yellow kinda looks good on him.
Okay, here goes the easy explanation: *heavy breathing* It is something regular (not only in the videogames industry) that, for several causes under specific circumstances, one or many characters receive a visual design change, which does not mean that they are a diferent character.
It has been confirmed that the owner of the hotel in LM3 (Hellen Gravely) released King Boo. It was confirmed by Nintendo. Wow...that's a lot of likes 😵
I wish Nintendo fleshed out its other King enemies like King Boo. They have so much to offer. (PersonallyI want to know why King Bob-omb has hands while the others also have them but hide them. See paper mario credits for evidence)
Maybe it's a prideful thing King Bob-omb decreed because he's so full of himself that he believes only he has the right to touch and feel things? I dunno
I like to use Galaxy for any plot inconsistencies. In the galaxy games Rosalina says that every hundred years the universe resets. I like to think that every game takes place in a different universe reset
That... actually makes sense? The only problem I see is when in the most recent paper mario game, color splash when you defeat bowser he asks if you are there for kart racing. Because paper jam confirmed these universes are near indentical, not EVERY game is a reset. But maybe the Mario and Luigi and mainline games are resets of the platformers. But this claim should be explored further!
it could be a case of wanting or longing for the power, or maddening effect the Diamond has. Or maybe he needs the power to accomplish things, despite the affect it has on him
It is shown in Super Princess Peach that King Boo can give himself blue eyes at will, and its shown in various other games that King Boo is capable of shapeshifting. He most likely just changes his own look to match the crown and be more frightening to Luigi, since there is scenes in things such as the arcade and Luigi's Mansion 3 where his crown isn't on his head for small periods of time.
king boo wasn't always in the mansion, the mansion itself isn't actually real, as explained in the first game. King boo and his gang either got trapped or was simply hiding there. But being king boo created the mansion, he was most likely hiding or waiting for luigi to find him only to find out he had luigi's poltergust 3000 where things went south because how would he have known? now that being said, there still is no evidence that king boo and bowser interacted with each other before the events of luigi's mansion but there isn't evidence that the terroriser of the mushroom kingdom never met king boo but then again, in super mario 64 the boos were found in the garden, boos are known to talk and spread information and king boo is the king of all boos so he would most likely know about bowser and mario because of super mario 64, the law of the Mario & Luigi franchise is complicated when you haven't paid close attention to the games for a period of time, i could go on and on but im really tired so its whatever edit: king boo has and always will be the king of illusions, as egad said and that's how the events of the first game was placed
0:47 That music literally goes with the lyrics to the Lilo And Stich The Series opening theme song. (I lai la Ua i la No mala hini ohana Welcome cousins, e komo mai Aloha e komo mai)

And one mare thing in the remake of 64 king boo said he was going to put Mario in a painting and he trapped Luigi in a mirror and he didn't have any gems on at that time. He is just naturally evil maybe not twords his fellow boos but definitely twords others that get in his way.
Why are people giving this Gooigi guy so much credit lmao He's completely wrong about King Boo being changed by his gem. Look at the difference between Luigi's Mansion 1 on the 3DS and Luigi's Mansion 2. Both times, he had entirely seperate crowns (and the first one didnt even give him any extra powers) and yet he still looked exactly the same. His crown doesn't change his look. Plus, in the arcade version, theres scenes where King Boo doesn't have his crown yet still has his Luigi's Mansion look.
@@doggz2701 actually you are wrong first in the arcade version the only time king boo didn't have the gem was when he was fighting you and made clones the real one still had his gem the clones didn't. An the gem did give him extra power in the original it was the reason he was able to make a Bowser replica look so real and act real. Also the gem does change his appearance that's why he looks normal in the mainline games and why he had red eyes in the original and purple in the sequel.
@@aaronjones6299 No, he didn't only have no crown when he was fighting, he also didn't have his gem when he was shown inside of the poltergust attempting to break free. Also, it doesn't say that the Bowser replica was made using the gem. Also, the red eyes is an outdated design and was updated in the 3DS version of Luigi's Mansion to look the way King Boo always looks (aka in dark moon and lm3), hence why the gem doesn't change his appearance.

1:10 he wasn’t at the bottom, this room is on 1F, wasn’t trapped in the mansion, originally free, and Boolossus frees the portrait ghosts. He creates the mansion to lure the Mario Bros. The dark moon is King Boo’s indirect power enslaving the good ghosts in Evershade Valley. He was freed in Luigi’s Mansion 2 after he was sold in a garage auction. Somehow the ghost portraitificationizer and he destroys it. King Boo was the master of illusions and maybe he wasn’t real in Luigi’s Mansion 2’s ending. Maybe King Boo is just an illusion
I think after the battle of Luigi’s Mansion, he obviously gets injured and that’s why he looks like a maniac in Mario Sunshine. He slowly recovers but just doesn’t look the same anymore, so he makes a normal boo replace his role and that’s why the major difference in Mario Kart and Part occurs.
CardiacYew 3805 that’s Nin10doland’s theory, it’s in the title of the video, it’s not the official answer, for all we know he’s not created by Bowser Jr.
Anthill no, it is actually just a creation of Jr’s, along with the other Sunshine enemies. It’s a fake King Boo made of Goop. He even has a different Japanese name to the regular King Boo.
E Gadd voice: I wonder what happens if I put this funky lil gem on top of the local prankster... King Boo: This is the third time you've done this! You saw what it did!! Keep that away frOM ME
10:24 is it possible that both King Boo’s are the same person? It’s like normal King Boo is friendly I guess and the Luigi’s mansion games he is crazy evil.
Hey, actually, if you played the arcade version of Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon, you can see the Luigi's Mansion version of King Boo but without the gem on his crown. The gem definitely doesn't change his appearance. EDIT: This is further proven by Luigi's Mansion 3 where we see him in the vault without the gem and he still retains his LM design.
pro koleś22 *You do realize that “HAL labs” makes Kirby games right? Nintendo just publishes them. *Nintendo doesn’t put lore in Mario games because Shigeru Miyamoto said “Mario games should just be mindless fun”. Now for the questioning: What about Rosalina’s story? What about the fact that Luigi’s mansion has lore, like on the website for the series? *Well that’s easy to answer, if you don’t know already Rosalina’s back story was put in later in development by a staff member, why later? Because they were doing it behind Miyamoto’s back! *As for the Luigi’s mansion series(in short), it was made by a different studio.(even though Luigi was created by Miyamoto, he actually doesn’t own the company that makes the series, and he doesn’t have a “say so” for story!) *The timeline split in the Zelda series: It has been confirmed that its actually canon(which is cool) and also the series is safe BECAUSE *Miyamoto doesn’t own the Zelda series* Literally Nintendo staff helps make games like Zelda, Splatoon, etc! BUT *for series like Kirby and Pokémon, Nintendo them selves don’t have a say so of what goes on in those companies!* Again HAL Labs made Kirby, so they can put as much lore as they want! Same with Pokémon, GameFreak made the series so they can do whatever they want with it too! So I know this entire thing was a waste of time, but I just wanted to clear up some misunderstandings That Nintendo does everything with lore, even though they just publish games that just so happens to have lore. They own Zelda yes, but, they don’t have a say so in story and gameplay.
To be fair, you only see him without it for a few seconds. The power could still be surging through him and wouldn't leave him immediately. The arcade game may not be canon either, so overall I dont think anything that happens in it really matters.
I'm not sure if anyone has typed this yet, but I'm pretty sure that the gem on King Boo's Crown is the same type of crystal we see in the Secret Mines, as King Boo describes his as "power enhancing" and we see the naturally occurring ones do just that to the ghosts the boos trap inside them. Though this would have some weird implications, as this means the boos must have had access to this mine at the time of Luigi's Mansion 1, and somehow get the crystal back (or another instance of it) in 3. On an unrelated note, I really wish they'd use King Boo's LM design in Mario spinoffs. To me, it's so much more interesting and unique than just a big boo with a golden crown.
I feel that the King Boo we see in the normal games is actually just the Big Boo from SMW and SM64, and just given itself a new identity. One piece of evidence is in Super Mario 64 DS, where at one point, its Big Boo tells Mario that it's captured Luigi and you'll need to beat him before it'll give you the Key - and while it straight-out refers to itself as 'the Big Boo', you can see that it's wearing the same Crown as the later iterations of King Boo! So my guess is that the King Boo that works for Bowser is just a re-branded Big Boo with illusions of grandeur, and the one found in the Luigi's Mansion games is the *true* King Boo whose appearance was based around by the others!
I think that was a translation error though still I like to think that Luigi’s Mansion King Boo and main series King Boo are different characters since their personalities are very different even by Mario standards.
Plot twist: the king boo we see in Luigis mansion is a form of king boo. The form he takes at night. And the king boo we see in the other games is just king boo in day time form. It’s like a Shrek thing you know.
Has anyone did a theory in Crystals/Gems in the Mario series? I believe they have some form of Magic/Power invaded in them. Also Princess Peach says she enscased a Jewel upon Mario to help protect him?
With Luigi's Mansion 3 having come out i'd like to say that I believe the events of Luigi's Mansion come after any other iterations of the boo.And being put into paintings at least 2 times has severely deteriorated the ghosts mental state.
I got a Theory!!! As you can see, the Dark Moon is depicted as a crescent moon. It kinda looks like the crescent Dark Moon could have been a full Dark Moon at one point. But it's missing a huge piece... the one the Luigi's Mansion King Boo has on his crown! How else would King Boo know about the crescent moon unless he was connected to it in some way? Edit: A little flaw, and something to talk about is how the gem Changes color through out the games, this could be just for looks but it could actually mean something
Bit of a late comment, but after playing Luigis Mansion 3, it made me think…What if the Dark Moon had an opposite? The Dark Moon when whole kept all the ghosts docile and sane, but at the end of Luigis Mansion 3, Instead of keeping the crystal from King Boos crown, it disappears and all the ghosts seem to “Wake Up” like they were all being controlled by the crystal. Also I believe that the King Boos shown in the games are completely different King Boos, Mario Sunshine King Boo was created by Bowser Jr, King Boo in recent Mario Games is a Replacement King Boo as the Boos still need a King and they are unaware that their King is actually trapped within a painting, leaving King Boo from Luigis Mansion as the one true King Boo
The next Theory is probably gonna be called "How Dumb is E Gad to let King Boo out of his prison?", Also this is a Great Theory and it makes sense on why Luigi's Mansion's events Happen
My theory is that because you see King Boo at the trailer of Luigi’s Mansion 3, it seems like you’ll meet King Boo close to 2/3 of the game and after retrieving the gem, it’s revealed that it was an ordinary Boo who’s mind was hijacked by the gem, meaning that there’s a deeper story to the gem that causes him to go serial
In the ending of Luigi's Mansion 3, King Boo's gem disappears, as if it ceases to exist. This causes the ghosts to become friendly. Also, King Boo is briefly shown in a containment chamber with his crown, but without the gem.
So after obtaining King Boo's Gem Luigi probably gives it to I. Gidd, because he's the ghost expert. Without his gem King Boo kind of vanishes and because I. Gidd has the gem, he also has the power. And if I got you right you think that I. Gidd is responsable for King Boo's returns. Is this going to be the big plot twist in Luigi's Mansion 3?!
Lol I ran a king boo ask blog a couple years ago and nearly all the stuff you brought up here are ideas I used for the blog! The gem in the crown making king boo evil, there being 3 king boos. The sunshine king boo being a copy made by bowser junior. Good video, thanks for validating my headcanons!
There is one place we haven't looked at yet: Luigi's Mansion Arcade. If you beat King Boo on the final level, you'll see him in the same vortex as the other two boss ghosts without his crown. And you can see him panicking because he's losing power.
My theory is that the king with the gem is the "main" one. While the one with the jewels is the "backup" king. Basically, whenever the one with the gem is unable to rule, (aka trapped in a painting) the one with the jewels take his place.
There is one problem with this theory the gem from the first Luigi's Mansion is just a normal fake diamond and gives King Boo no additional powers like the gem we see in Dark Moon and maybe 3
Mario Kart Wii: Guide: "After Luigi foiled King Boo high atop a mansion, he was furious. But without arms and legs, how does he steer and brake? Two words: Tongue power!" Super Smash Bros 3DS: American: "When the king of the Boos debuted in Luigi's Mansion, anyone who saw him was filled with terror. He has been very popular in Mario Kart and various sports games since then, but don't forget his terrible, ghostly spirit. Face him again in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon!" British: "When the leader of the Boos debuted in Luigi's Mansion, his creepy face was enough to freeze Luigi to the spot! After that, though, he took some time off to race in Mario Kart and compete in a bunch of sports...before going straight back to being evil in Luigi's Mansion 2." Nintendo went out of their way to state that non-Luigi's-Mansion design of the character is the same character as the Luigi's Mansion design on multiple occasions. There is no reason to continue thinking they are two separate characters just because they look different. Nintendo themselves have spoken on the subject and confirmed they are the same character. Stating otherwise is pure ignorance.
@@Wolfywolf7 Nintendo authorized those descriptions. Everything in those games were approved by Nintendo. They wouldn't let other companies say it if they were against it.
I always thought that when king boo finds a haunted mansion he would get all creepy and all and become extremely powerful (Edit) but then again I was little with a dumb brain
I know why, first King Boo was the variant of himself from the Mario Kart/ Party games, then he asked who Joe is... and that's the story of how he became a sadistic boi
Yes, but also... 3 Marios, 2 Peachs, and you can literally have 8 of the same character in a single race. Never seen it happen before, but its possible.
I like to think King Boo is more of an introvert so he calls in a bigger boo, puts a crown on it, and sends it to either go to bowsers meetings, kart races, mario parties, etc.
To add onto the theory of “The crystal on his crown manipulates & corrupts King Boo?” Remember in Luigi’s Mansion 2, there’s a portion of the game (I believe where you explore the train station “mansion”), where the boos capture & enhance the other ghosts inside of crystals that similarly resemble that of King Boo’s crown? Perhaps that’s the type of crystal that corrupts him & enhances King Boo’s powers? They do amplify the poor traits of ghosts & make ‘em worse, as well as boosts their power & health in-game.
Entire Nintendo community: maybe it isn’t always the same king boo Probably Nintendo: we....just redesigned him because we didn’t like his model lmao Still awesome theory!
2:09 WHAT!?! Dude, he wasn't all the time on there: they created the house in one day, captured Mario, hid from E Gadd's Poltergust and then where freed by Luigi. Also, he said he's seeking revenge for the times he was defeated
I have reason to think that there are actually 2 types of King Boos. You see, in Luigi's Mansion Egad build the poltergust 3000 and in Luigi's Mansion 2 build the poltergust 5000. The problem is that there are 2 more vacuum cleaners. The poltergust 3001 by Mario & Luigi SuperStarSaga and the poltergust 4000 by Mario Kart DS. Thanks to these vacuum cleaners we can know the chronological order of these games. (First Luigis Mansion, then Mario & Luigi, then Mario Kart and then Dark Moon) The fact is that in Mario Kart DS King Boo appears as a Boss, but as you understand, it is not possible since King Boo remains trapped until he manages to free himself shortly before the events of Dark Moon occur. Besides, does nobody care that he is free? I mean ... it's a potential threat to the entire kingdom. Worse, in Dark Moon, Luigi and the others act as if it were the first time they see him in a long time, so it makes no sense that the Boo King that appears in Mario Kart DS is the "TRUE" King Boo. I think there are 2 King Boo, one of them is the real king boo who is loyal to Bowser and the other is a self-proclaimed king who only does what he wants. Sorry for my bad English, I'm from Chile sopaipillas y completos :D
louis brown I think about it this way. In the first Luigi’s mansion game. Mario is missing prior to Luigi going into the mansion. Before king Boo gets released. I think E Gadd did something to Mario

I love how peeved king boo looks in LM3, like he just rather kill luigi than put him in a painting
King Boo in Luigi's Mansion 3 is mad terrifying ngl
Jimmy McCarty King Boo looks more triggered in LM3 and I think I know why lol
Christopher Shields I think he’s just fed up about how Luigi keeps stopping his plans

I know but I don't think so. I think that the King Boo with the notluigismansionlook is a friendly King Boo and a minion of Bowser.
My theory is that the King Boo from Luigi's Mansion is THE King Boo, he's the king of the kings
While the other King Boo, he's just here to take the other's role when he's not there, like a general which is why we see him more often, cuz Luigi's Mansion King Boo is too busy being stuck in a painting/Vaccum Cleaner to command his entire army
The Sunshine King Boo is called King Boo only in the West. In the Japanese version he's ボステレサ meaning Boss Boo.
That's a great thing to know, so refer to him as Boss Boo
And you find him at the casino...🤔
It's also a creation of Bowser Jr. via the Magic Paintbrush

Dragobane b-bossu!
8:52. Actually, in Luigi’s Mansion 1, he states how he despised how he despises how Luigi kept vacuuming up all his “friends”. So he does see the other Boo’s as friends.
But after that King Boo became so dead set on trapping Luigi in a painting that he stops caring about the other ghosts and even his Boos.
Nintendo: slightly changes the design of a character
Theorists: is this a new character?
I agree, but in this case the Luigi's Mansion King Boo acts completely different from the others, and ecen in the actua story of that spin-off series, King Boo is actually released just right before the game starts, so there would be no time for him to go karting or play tennis.
I know what will you say, *Oh but Bowser is evil too and in the sports spin-off he can very well hang on with Mario and Peach*
No, Bowser is not evil, he just wants to beat Mario to a pulp and marry Peach so that she can bake him a delicious cake, as you can see, in their last important encounter (Super Mario Odyssey) Bowser again tried to kidnapp Peach, defeat Mario, then get defeated by Mario, and what happened?
Those two just pat their backs as Peach rejected both.
At this point, Mario and Bowser are rivals, not enemies.
King Boo's case? He straight up wants to murder and/or trap Luigi and the rest in paintings for all eternity, he's not Luigi's rival, he's his archenemy, a real threat that could end not only the Mushroom Kingdom, but the entire world.
@@Dexuz maybe the side games dont have any lore, just a thought

Good point, also they have had several years to update the king boo from the sports/party games but have chosen not to, suggesting that either it's two different kings, or the same king in seperate stages
also note, there are other "high command" boos, such as big boo, boolossus, and the easily forgotten captain boo.

But this claim should be explored further!
i think that the gem effects his already evil mind too but king boo is pretty smart so i think he knows the effects the gem will have on him
I thought the same like he put the gem on his crown and he gets crazy
But then again maybe he's not the one putting it on himself
it could be a case of wanting or longing for the power, or maddening effect the Diamond has.
But being king boo created the mansion, he was most likely hiding or waiting for luigi to find him only to find out he had luigi's poltergust 3000 where things went south because how would he have known? now that being said, there still is no evidence that king boo and bowser interacted with each other before the events of luigi's mansion but there isn't evidence that the terroriser of the mushroom kingdom never met king boo but then again, in super mario 64 the boos were found in the garden, boos are known to talk and spread information and king boo is the king of all boos so he would most likely know about bowser and mario because of super mario 64, the law of the Mario & Luigi franchise is complicated when you haven't paid close attention to the games for a period of time, i could go on and on but im really tired so its whatever

Why are people giving this Gooigi guy so much credit lmao
He's completely wrong about King Boo being changed by his gem.

William Gaines u actual dumbass he means the king boo from the mansion games in general

EDIT: This is further proven by Luigi's Mansion 3 where we see him in the vault without the gem and he still retains his LM design.

*You do realize that “HAL labs” makes Kirby games right? Nintendo just publishes them.
*Nintendo doesn’t put lore in Mario games because Shigeru Miyamoto said “Mario games should just be mindless fun”.
Now for the questioning: What about Rosalina’s story? What about the fact that Luigi’s mansion has lore, like on the website for the series?
*Well that’s easy to answer, if you don’t know already Rosalina’s back story was put in later in development by a staff member, why later? Because they were doing it behind Miyamoto’s back!
*As for the Luigi’s mansion series(in short), it was made by a different studio.(even though Luigi was created by Miyamoto, he actually doesn’t own the company that makes the series, and he doesn’t have a “say so” for story!)
*The timeline split in the Zelda series:
It has been confirmed that its actually canon(which is cool) and also the series is safe BECAUSE *Miyamoto doesn’t own the Zelda series*
Literally Nintendo staff helps make games like Zelda, Splatoon, etc! BUT *for series like Kirby and Pokémon, Nintendo them selves don’t have a say so of what goes on in those companies!*
Again HAL Labs made Kirby, so they can put as much lore as they want!
I think the Luigi’s mansion arcade version is non-canon
@@tarothewafer The story itself is non-canon but it uses canon character elements

5:19 good god seeing king boo not smiling is actually really frickin creepy
With Luigi's Mansion 3 having come out i'd like to say that I believe the events of Luigi's Mansion come after any other iterations of the boo.And being put into paintings at least 2 times has severely deteriorated the ghosts mental state.
I'm gonna see that E. Gadd at the end in my nightmares tonight
Luigi's mansion version of King Boo is personally my favorite look for him, he looks pretty menacing for a boo.
Edit:
A little flaw, and something to talk about is how the gem Changes color through out the games, this could be just for looks but it could actually mean something
In luigi mansion 3, when his crown is off, he still looked like that
Well maybe it takes time for that form to wear off.
MSDKZfan 12345 bruh.... its just a new design maybe
They're the same, just the gem makes him have an altered appearance
Not gonna lie I just subscribed primarily cause of that dope ass title sequence 10/10 great music and editing
I apsolutely love King Boo! His laugh sends chill down my spine everytime, and him in Dark Moon is so awesome and scary!
2:15 Bowser was dead actually. The fortune teller mentions that Bowser had been dead at the time and asks if King Boo brought him back to life.
Bowser Wasn't Dead. He was Long Gone, thinking he was dead. The One in Luigi's Mansion is a suit.
The next Theory is probably gonna be called "How Dumb is E Gad to let King Boo out of his prison?", Also this is a Great Theory and it makes sense on why Luigi's Mansion's events Happen
Honestly, I think the King Boo that looks like a regular Boo is a random Boo king, and that the LM King Boo is the true King Boo.
In my opinion when king boo has the dark moon jem it makes him a lot more savage and cooler
Finally someone else notice, also king boo I'd my favorite Mario villain
There is one place we haven't looked at yet: Luigi's Mansion Arcade. If you beat King Boo on the final level, you'll see him in the same vortex as the other two boss ghosts without his crown. And you can see him panicking because he's losing power.
Let's just be honest he did what bowser couldn't
My theory is that the king with the gem is the "main" one. While the one with the jewels is the "backup" king. Basically, whenever the one with the gem is unable to rule, (aka trapped in a painting) the one with the jewels take his place.
I think he chances his aperance depending on how intimidating he wants to be
1:43 nin10doland:but king Boo has tricks up his sleeve
Me: he's a ghost he doesn't have sleeves
There is one problem with this theory the gem from the first Luigi's Mansion is just a normal fake diamond and gives King Boo no additional powers like the gem we see in Dark Moon and maybe 3
Yes I really hope he actually looks like that I don't want just a normal mob with a crown how boring can you get
Great job man
3:13 it was shown *in this very video* that he took it in the original...
Mario Kart Wii: Guide: "After Luigi foiled King Boo high atop a mansion, he was furious. But without arms and legs, how does he steer and brake? Two words: Tongue power!"
Super Smash Bros 3DS:
American: "When the king of the Boos debuted in Luigi's Mansion, anyone who saw him was filled with terror. He has been very popular in Mario Kart and various sports games since then, but don't forget his terrible, ghostly spirit. Face him again in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon!"
British: "When the leader of the Boos debuted in Luigi's Mansion, his creepy face was enough to freeze Luigi to the spot! After that, though, he took some time off to race in Mario Kart and compete in a bunch of sports...before going straight back to being evil in Luigi's Mansion 2."
Nintendo went out of their way to state that non-Luigi's-Mansion design of the character is the same character as the Luigi's Mansion design on multiple occasions.
I always thought that when king boo finds a haunted mansion he would get all creepy and all and become extremely powerful
(Edit) but then again I was little with a dumb brain
I know why, first King Boo was the variant of himself from the Mario Kart/ Party games, then he asked who Joe is... and that's the story of how he became a sadistic boi
Interesting in Mario Kart Tour they are two separate characters.
Yes, but also... 3 Marios, 2 Peachs, and you can literally have 8 of the same character in a single race. Never seen it happen before, but its possible.
“Orange goop”: *exists*
You: bowser jr
Me: hollow knight
King Boo and King Boo (Luigi’s Mansion) are in Mario Kart Tour, so....
And?
I like to think King Boo is more of an introvert so he calls in a bigger boo, puts a crown on it, and sends it to either go to bowsers meetings, kart races, mario parties, etc.
Wait, what “the dark moon causes the ghosts to get out of check” it’s when it is broken that the ghost become evil...
The Luigi’s mansion one is the real one, you can’t change my mind
10:47 like the crystal quarry!
Probably that's where he gets gems
To add onto the theory of “The crystal on his crown manipulates & corrupts King Boo?”
Remember in Luigi’s Mansion 2, there’s a portion of the game (I believe where you explore the train station “mansion”), where the boos capture & enhance the other ghosts inside of crystals that similarly resemble that of King Boo’s crown? Perhaps that’s the type of crystal that corrupts him & enhances King Boo’s powers?
They do amplify the poor traits of ghosts & make ‘em worse, as well as boosts their power & health in-game.
Entire Nintendo community: maybe it isn’t always the same king boo
Probably Nintendo: we....just redesigned him because we didn’t like his model lmao
Still awesome theory!
I still believe that two of the King Boos are one in the same. I believe that King Boo keeps up a facade and could betray Bowser at any point.
King Boo knows Bowser because some boos are Bowser’s minions
2:09 WHAT!?! Dude, he wasn't all the time on there: they created the house in one day, captured Mario, hid from E Gadd's Poltergust and then where freed by Luigi. Also, he said he's seeking revenge for the times he was defeated
King Boo has SIBLINGS
Fans: NANI?!
(First Luigis Mansion, then Mario & Luigi, then Mario Kart and then Dark Moon)
The fact is that in Mario Kart DS King Boo appears as a Boss, but as you understand, it is not possible since King Boo remains trapped until he manages to free himself shortly before the events of Dark Moon occur.
I do believe wholeheartedly that there’s more that meets the eye when it comes to E Gadd
Definitely would like to see his back story more in lm3
louis brown I honestly think he might be the main enemy of the game
@@NinShrewz maybe you never know because he did give the magic paintbrush to bowser jr in sunshine so he might secretly be evil??
louis brown I think about it this way. In the first Luigi’s mansion game. Mario is missing prior to Luigi going into the mansion. Before king Boo gets released. I think E Gadd did something to Mario
@@NinShrewz possibly maybe king boo and E Gadd are secretly working together
I grew up with the design King Boo had in Mario Kart Wii without the gem, but i love love looove the Luigi’s Mansion 3 design with the gem!
Because he he change various apperences by mood?
