I'm just in complete awe at how well this project came out. Your talent in making these multi-media creations is just unreal, and it's not only the product, but the _process_ that's incredible to behold. Seeing each of the details in King Boo's body come to life, piece-by-piece really gives an appreciation for the tremendous work and creative energy that went into this. The lighting aspects alone blew my mind, and although I'm sure it was a considerable learning curve, you make the wiring, soldering, and clamping look so easy! And just seeing those glowing purple lights early in the process really builds excitement for seeing them embedded into the final design! In addition to superb dexterity, you have great hand strength and endurance, as well. For instance, making indents into the dense ball of aluminum foil must not be easy, and these repeated cutting, pressing, gripping, etc. motions can really take their toll, I'm sure. I have to ask, though: do you find yourself getting hand cramps at certain stages of each project - like, is there a particular step(s) that's especially straining? And geez, the sheer amount of effort involved in making King Boo's crown gem alone. First, you hand-sculpted a custom solid mold, then develop a cast from that polymer blend, dye the liquid acrylic to just the right hue, have it solidify, and then polish it to an absolute shine - but the end result is absolutely gorgeous. I had to pause the video at around 4:04 just to admire how pretty it looked. :) And the acrylic eye inserts came out great, as well! Speaking of hand-crafted details, the crown looks fantastic! I loved that edit where you had them appear one-by-one in quick succession on the sheet. In fact, the editing in general here is really tight, and I imagine it must have taken a great deal of effort and care to record and put together. And woah, that was such a cool touch, where you snapped your fingers in front of King Boo's eyes to remove the painter's tape underneath - very slick! My goodness, the colors here are stellar! The black makes a perfect contrast with the white (nice job keeping everything super clean, by the way), and the gold looks really authentic! Perfect job of capturing that precise shade of indigo (mauve?) in the tongue, as well. Also, I am _so_ impressed at how you were able to make the tongue appear as if its truly coming from deep within King Boo's mouth - you can even see the shadow of his teeth over his tongue! And what a treat it was to see the final project. I love how you rotate it at the end to give a full perspective from various angles, and again, everything looks incredibly professional with your setup. I feel like this creation could easily be sold as official Nintendo merchandise for a hefty sum of cash, coins, gems, and pearls! For real though, I enjoyed watching this video immensely. Your videos are always so worth the wait! Until next time, my friend! 🌟
Omg, thank you so much Equalyze. You always write such nice comments I really appreciate your incredibly kind feedback. Honestly, regarding the hand pain, I haven’t actually encountered any this far. It’s mostly little cuts and burns and things from the making process that I get more than my hands cramping. For example I was altering the metal base stand for the video and cutting the rod part and stupidly managed to slice my hand open while doing so (I’m fine now haha). But yeah it’s usually more that. And thank you for the nice words regarding the resin gem! I’ve only ever worked with resin a few times and only off the channel, but that alone was a learning process so I’m happy you liked the final result! :) Thanks for the compliments on the editing too, that’s something that does take a while but I don’t usually think about it too much as I edit while I’m making the actual sculpture over the course of sometimes months, so I just edit the video along side it. And the snap was actually me priming the sculpture in white primer. It’s actually kind of hard to tell for some reason I’m this video but yeah haha. But thank you again so much, I appreciate you saying the setup looks professional cause that is something that I’m striving for. And regarding you saying it could be sold as an official Nintendo product, again that’s like the best compliment ever, so thank you! But yeah, really appreciate you always leaving such nice feedback, I’m glad you enjoyed the video! :)
I love King Boo. He’s very, very, very, very, way to the extreme, adorable. And interesting at least. And he hasn’t made many appearances unlike the Mario King Boo.
Wow you are sooooo talented! I actually found your channel just by searching Sculpture Earthbound, and here we are. I'm definitely binging all of your videos. You inspire me!
@@sculptednostalgia No problem. My other suggestion would be Princess Peach, or any of the Nintendo Princess characters, like Daisy or Rosalina. I'll let you decide, since you're such a talented artist.
Hi I’m from TH I don't have much knowledge about electrical circuits. Can you tell me what materials you used to create the lights for his eyes and diamonds? Thanks 🩵
@@mistermidnight7530 Hello! Sure, so I used a simple circuit of 4 LEDs (one for each eye and two for the gem) that was powered by a small lipo battery. This battery was connected to a pushbutton switch to turn off and on the LEDs, and a usb charging port to recharge the lipo. The actual eyes and gem are made from resin. Hope this helps!
@@andyryanhigalarosa7472 no I am, I used a lipo battery. It’s connected to the circuit powering the 4 LEDs. But it’s all housed inside the sculpture and turns off and on by the pushbutton switch at the bottom of king boo.
Hey I appreciate the interest! Unfortunately I'm not selling any of my work atm. I actually also gave this one to a friend already so I don't even have this one anymore. But thanks for the support!
Sure thing! I used epoxy clay to sculpt, leds and other circuitry components like a charging port, lipo battery, pushbutton switch, etc. to make the eyes and crown light up, aluminum foil as a bulking agent before the clay, molding materials to create the mold for the gem and resin to cast it, and acrylic paints.@@siverwolf18

Oh and the E.gadd song and poltergeist song was incredible I even sang along the.But the poltergeist song was to fast I almost couldn’t hum it all😄

Can you make the king boo version from the 1st Luigis Manson? I find it far more menacing. This was awesome
Hey thanks! Probably not tbh as I’m probably not going to do the same character twice, but thanks for watching!

What technique did you use to smooth it out and remove finger prints, thats what I struggle with the most.

Silicone! I used it to mold the shape of the gem so I could cast it in resin.
