Thank you! I am excited to grow this for the first time. I’m in zone 6b. 😊
Im glad it was helpful!
I love beets in salads or roasted.
Roasted Beets
12 beets 3 tablespoons good olive oil 2 teaspoons |Ms. Dash Original Seasoning ground black pepper 2 tablespoons raspberry vinegar and some orange juice.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Remove the tops and the roots of the beets and peel each one with a vegetable peeler. Cut the beets in 1 1/2-inch chunks. Place the cut beets on a baking sheet and toss with the olive oil, Ms. Dash Original Seasonings. Roast for 35 to 40 minutes, turning once or twice with a spatula, until the beets are tender. Remove from the oven and immediately toss with the vinegar and orange juice. Season and serve warm.
Thanks for the recipe. I love to roast beets in combination with carrots, turnips, and parsnips with a bunch of herbs.
I tried to grow beets in a container and didn’t get any beats only some leaves. Can you tell me what would be the recipe I should put in my container I live in zone 6B near Cleveland
Make sure you have a light potting mix - something designed for pots or add plenty of perlite. give them some distance from each other and keep them moist. Try again next spring! You would be in zone 6A.
Can I use this information for Zone 6a?
Yes, definitely! Thanks for watching!
