Really good explanation of how the pcc sw works and interacts with the radio. One question. Does the sw allow you to rotate the vfo to select required frequency or can you type this in a Nd the enter to go to your selection. Cheerz Stuart vk3fsga I n Cockatoo Victoria Australia
Some people have multiple radios that could be on a shelf etc and to save them reaching up constantly to change settings this just makes it a bit easier.
Did you use an external speaker or headphones, A radios internal speaker is usually never good. I always use headphones. I find that using contour and notch can really make the audio good, at least on the 891 and FTDX-10, the FTDX-10 has some amazing audio and receiver compared to my old 7300 which is gone now and I don't miss it, the audio was harsh and tiring to listen to and I needed NR on all the time, don't need DNR on the 891 or FTDX-10 it sounds so good. I have a 450D coming now and will sell the 891 just because I want a radio with better ergonomics with more buttons as I don't do much portable ops now since I no longer work shift and don't have as many days off. The 891 has a terrific receiver though and audio, in fact, had it not been for the 891 I'd not be any the wiser as to the bad audio from the 7300. I can still take the 450D with me if I work portable because I never work far from the car anyway.
Perfect m8

Hello Dave,
would you like to mention which windows version you run. For me I have problems getting the 450D up and running via Cat.
I keep getting Failed to connect the COM port error :’(.
If you press the Select button back in it will return back to the menu saves going bk to function
its a shame you cant press a PTT like other radio software, unless im missing something
Stumbled upon this don't have an HF radio, but what's the main focus to the software, just to use it on a pc rather than the radio itself 🤷🏻♂️

I liked the radio apart from the receive audio, to my ear it's almost unintelligible..
