The things that i mainly love about armwrestling is that it shows many biomechanical functions of the hands and this video has done well to also explain its complexity without touching its more scientific or professional demeanor but instead in an observation for the sake if competitiveness, thankyou so much for making this video
I AM SO HAPPY that you're back! Armwrestling becomes fun for me because of your channel, i also share a lot of your informative knowledge to my small armwrestling club in Indonesia. Terima kasih!
Dude, I've been looking through a lot of videos on youtube and no one, literally NO ONE explains things like you do, you have no idea the amount of things i've learned from you, pls keep it up with this content, the armwrestling community needs teachers like you
It is such a pleasure to see you again Tim. Your old vidéos have helped me a lot when I started armwrestling a couple years ago. I hope you will be there for a while this time !
Did this exercise today for the first time. Never had a better feeling and pump in the pronator muscle. It feels that you can come much deeper in the pronation in this cupping position. I will definitely integrate it in my weekly training. Thank you very much Tim 💪❤
@@noonewillknow1767 Thanks brother!! I know what you mean. The pronation is under heavy attack in the hook and is usually the weakest link in the chain. Best of luck to you in the future!! 👍💪💥
Thank you so much man. I feel this is exactly the video one needs to watch in order to learn better hooking and all technical aspects related to it. Love your videos. +1 sub
i love your content man and you arent getting the views you deserve. i hope you get many more followers and make a shit ton of money because you deserve it. thank you
Thanks brother. Ulnar deviation refers to the anatomical motion of the hand and wrist flexing towards the ulna bone. Ulnar deviation or 'Ulnar Drift' is also a deformity, but the motion specific for flexion towards the ulna bone is still referred to as ulnar deviation. Radial deviation is flexion towards the radius bone. @@chuckypetersonarmwrestling99
What advantages does one have when training pronation in a hook position vs pronation without wrist flexion? Is it more of a muscle memory type thing? At the end of the day, you are still just training pronation. I think the video is great, honestly. I juat have an issue with training in a losing position. Rarely do you ever win when you are in that position. Please correct me if im wrong. I understsnd people have comebacks and i havent seen every armwrestling video on the internet. I just feel like training pronation with wrist flexion starting from a losing position will train the body and mind that its okay to be in that position. Hookers need more offensive training style to help prevent them from getting to that losing psotion. I totally get it though. Train for the worst possible scenario but why not put that time and energy into training your body to put someone else in that losing position? Great video. Glad you are back and is there anyway i can find your matches online?
Hi brother. It's not "just training pronation". It's more specific. Especially when you take into account the ulnar deviation involved. You need to TRY the hook pronation exercises to see the difference. It will surprise you!
What kind of intensity would you do with this one? I find it very humbling how little weight I can do with good form. Also hyper extending on the supination drains me so fast that I cannot train my pronation part
Awesome video!!!! Can you please put a link where you bought your stability box so we can get one. I've looked it up on Amazon but can't find one like yours. Thanks!
Thanks for the great comment brother! I actually bought the box at a big gym warehouse in Honolulu. It weighs like 100 pounds so I didn't want to pay the shipping cost for it. I've had it for years but I didn't buy it online. Not sure if they make this one anymore.
Sir with due respect plz do a video on how to tackle low hand toproll in a strap match and without strap also.. there is very low information about lowhand toproll
I read somewhere that you need to snatch the hook quickly after the go . Meaning that if you try to " force " the hook , then you deserve to be toprolled ( of course against a toproller ) . What's your take on this ? Does setting the hook mean getting quickly behind someone's wrist instead of forcing it with wrist flexion ?
Hi brother. My answer would be that if your goal is to hook the opponent, your best chance is to try to apply the move IMMEDIATELY on the 'Go'. Forcing a hook takes strength which you need also, but I try to hook my opponent at LIGHT SPEED if that's my move. Hope this helps!
Guys, i have an tfcc injury. It was healed but now it relapsed again. I never train my hook. I always train my top roll. Do you think tfcc injury is caused by weak hooking strength? Weak supination? Thankyou
Hi brother. Supination strength is necessary for setting a hook but pronation strength is necessary to keep it. I haven't found strict supination strength training to be as beneficial as training the wrist flexors, ulnar deviation and pronation. That being said, strong supination muscles can only help you on the table. I found that heavy training of the supination muscles gave me lots of injuries though. So, I stay away from strict supination training nowadays.
You displaying Ivan Matyushenko who may have the best hook and he would beat Devon Larrat. Devon would have to cheat, cheat and cheat more than he already does to beat Ivan.
@@yi-vanstudenov464 Ivan called Devon out on East vs west and Devon said nothing. Devon knows who to stay far away from. Ivan would possibly expose Devon. Ivan just a different beast and all those shenanigans Devon plays, will not work on him. Let’s be honest Devon cheats. Devon rises before go, slips, purposely to straps, screams at the refs and turns it into a circus show. Devon brings in the pay-per-view numbers so they let him do what he wants because he is the big money draw because of all his fanboys. I years ago people didn’t run and slip to get to strap. You had to develop a strong skilled hand. Devon change the sport where if you learn to cheat well, you’ll do well. Since Devon now goes under the table now it’s acceptable and everybody thinks it’s cool but when Devon didn’t like it people understood it was a coward thing but now he does it, it’s OK.
You knocked this one out of the park! Yours is perhaps the most helpful video I’ve viewed for grasping the hook mechanics.

If you pronate in both a hook and a top-roll, when are you supposed to supinate?
Supination plays a role in hook set up but pronation is the more important strength factor.
