The San Juan Fiesta in Arzúa, a Small Town in Galicia
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 жов 2024
- La Fiesta de San Juan is a major holiday across Spain and other parts of the world. We spent a month with the people of Arzúa, a small Galician town along Spain's world famous Camino de Santiago, to experience first hand the traditions and rituals that make this fiesta so interesting and powerful.

I do so look forward to your videos Jane and Jones. Thank you so much for these glorious immersive experiences which feel like love letters to the land, people and history of Galicia. Looking forward to being there myself soon for the imminent birth of my Galician grandchild!
Thank you for the kind comment! Congratulations on your grandchild...are you here yet?
@@JaneinSpain Yes, we are in A Coruña and think our nieto is being induced today. My son truly sees Galicia as his home now. His wife is from a village called Corgomo. They will raise their son to speak Castilian, Galician (her first language with family), and English (hopefully!). We so love your videos and Jones’s photos!
@@beewebb3568 A big welcome to your new little galego. He is so lucky to be born here. Best wishes for a safe and easy delivery. Un abrazo fuerte!
Wonderful vídeo! Thank you for your dedication and love. You've been really thorough with every detail: a very convenient selection of music, complete information, beautiful filming... ❤

Please keep making these videos! I get my Galicia fix!!
We are launching a big project here in Galicia that has taken up much of our time. But we hope to be back with new videos soon!
@@JaneinSpainPlease 🙏
Your videos are so well-done, some of the highest quality content around, IMO. Not only is there a narrative thread through it all, but the choice of storytelling and the editing, the "cinematography" and music choices -- all Top Notch. I've been waiting for some time for "my time" to escape to Galicia. I've never been in the region, though I've enjoyed other areas of Spain. I met a friend, a gallego, in Córdoba, with his wife (whom I'd known for some time) and we instantly hit it off. He urged me to visit Galicia some day, as he believed it would be very "familiar" to me (based on where I grew up, in SW PA.) Greenery, forest, water, rolling hills, etc. That was 11 years ago and I've not been able to do it yet, but I will.
With your work, Jane and Jones, you help me keep the fire alive and very real, along with the artistic angle of your stories -- mil gracias para todo!
What a lovely comment to wake up to. Thank you! Please don't miss any opportunity to make the trip. And reach out when you get here, we will show you some of our favorite places. You can find our email address on the "about" page of our channel. Un abrazo fuerte! xo
A very well documented video about the Galician culture.
I have been a part of it for 6 years living i a small village right outside of Santiago de Compostela.
Strong social communitees where the Commission da festa holds a important role.
Thank you for sharing these beautifull rustic images, it gave me goosebumps.
Thank you so much for the kind comments, Michel. Jones was very interested in your CNC milling videos! If you are interested, reach out via our email address on the "about" page, since we're neighbors!
@@JaneinSpain Excuse my english.
My ex was a Gallega so we visited Galicia twice a year from 1996 until 2006 when we emigrated to Santiago de Compostela.
Lived there until 2013 when I returned to The Netherlands ;)
@@michelrosier468 On your next visit, then. Un abrazo!
