Sorry but that's a bad fold. Doug already pointed out all the reasons why. If assuming logic, Xuan is never jamming something that has you beat?? Nobody would logically jam JJ there.
Don't know why people trap who are scared money when the next card comes out. Literally you know there is a possibility that the board can pair. If you cant handle that don't trap just get it in good.
What I hated most about this video was that they never showed us The Kid at the end, so we didn't get to see his reaction to learning that he would've won the entire pot. And who is the guy that called with Jack's?! 😂🤦🏼 Lastly, this is a great example of how you will always win more betting than you will calling. No shove and she loses that hand.
there's no blanket rule to betting vs calling. The simple fact is maniacs beat nits and stations beat maniacs. She bluff jammed the turn and other guy has TP so it's a classic matchup between 2 fish and which one will win.
@@ticenits1926 Calling that bet with a pair Jacks is crazy and stupid AF with a set, FH, over-pair and flush possible. The way that hand was played no competent player would think their Jacks were good!
Bro. I could sense this one coming I swear. Yesterday I was like, “hmm I wonder what Doug is up to. Hasn’t posted in a while. “ welcome back. I hope this is the start of another streak
When you are under the impression that moving up to high stakes means you are playing better players, watch this video. It's hard to imagine you could find this many players in one hand ever playing the hand so badly.
Yeah, i could see why Doug thought the initial jam seemed more like jacks than the QJ call after he explained it, but the call specifically is what I would have thought was a boat - because it was a call.... lol
@@Senorzilchnzero I'm not sure how pot odds would justify a call... on the turn?? Maybe in spots before the turn. You would need around 20% equity in that spot, and you would surely think that there is a flush and there's no way you'd think you'd have 20% equity with two people already all in. Would the odds of a Jack coming on river be 20%? I would assume someone had jack something at that point if I was him in that hand and, even if no one had a jack, the odds would be like 6% of a Jack river I think. Someone correct me if I'm wrong....
HEY Doug, wouldn't you want to iso with the nut flush? narrow down calling margins and inevitably be up against pocket jacks or 3? i think i would of stuck it out and not folding that hand.
I knew he was going to fold. Partly because of the video title and other hints but also because of poker logic. When you face an all in and a call in that situation your hand simply does not look that good anymore. And you can not improve. Lets not forget that one player is already all in so bluffs seem way less likely. And there was action before the raise so the all in player really has to worry about the other two players and is therefore looking really strong. And she still gets called which is looking really strong. To me this is a nice example of a value bluff. She made the worse hand call and the better hand fold. Of course QJ could/should have folded and then the flush might have called.
I can’t believe how bad Xuan’s pre-flop call is there. With that many people in, I am 100% shoving pre-flop with aces when it comes back to me, to winnow the field down to something exactly like KK. Letting AsQs in for so cheap is just asking to get crushed. Of course, because it’s poker, she gets rewarded for jamming when she’s only 10% to win against a monster made hand 🙄
I’ve lost too many nut flushes on paired boards to be critical of the nut flush fold. . I got stacked for 5g’s with a 3h-4h-4c facing a $526 raise with Ah-Qh. The raiser was having a good night and I thought he was getting a bit pushy, so it was either push all-in for a bit over 4g’s or fold. He ended up calling next card was a 10c with the river bringing in my flush 3h-4h-4c-10c-5h. I’m getting ready to stack the chips and he shows 5-5 for a full house. Unbelievable. Calling a 4g raise with 5-5’s.

When the qj old guy calls you have to assume full house or quads lol nah, but the only thing that bothers me with the hand is turning the aq flush up when folding while there's another person to speak after you in a 4 way pot...
I have thought about this hand way to much. Was it position or the betting or the players that made the nut flush fold. So much I want to know about this play.
Doug I agree with your entire analysis, but is folding the nut flush that bad? This is a situation where Corvette Mike’s play makes absolutely no sense. If this spot were to happen with other players, it’s almost always a boat. I can’t imagine myself calling the all-in with anything less than a flush/boat there, exactly like you said. Maybe I’m wrong? However, I do understand your point that he only needs to be right 1/4.5 times.
I’ve been in this exact spot before. Flopped nut flush. Board pairs on turn guy before me Jams, i call, guy after me rejams. It screams boat. Well neither of them had shit.
I'm extremely nitty in some underbluffed spots, but in a wild stream game with the nut flush? cmon this is probably one of the best spots you can ever find yourself in. Idk corvette mike, but he seems like a very loose and splashy player so he can have all sorts of smaller flushes and xuan has all the overpairs in range + some smaller flushes as well.
Regardless of what happened, the sheer speed of his snap fold was a massive mistake. As an amateur I see why he figured it was a boat, but he didn't even think it through...?
Honestly I'm more worried about the old fart. Most recs I would think aren't jamming even a flush here on a paired board because they are worried Xuan has a boat and Xuan would probably just call w JJ. I'm concerned the old guy has JJ or 34s. The combos honestly are closer the 50/50 than what Doug says I think. About 6 combos of boats and about the same w flushes, but again most old guys wouldn't jam to this action unless they had a boat. Both Xuan and the Corvette guy played it SO BAD it would throw me off too. I've made bad folds like this which is tilting because he shouldn't be good but he is. I guess there's something ri be said for pot odds. You also need to account for fish that overplay their hands. I think in a vacuum vs an unknown this is probably a fold w the nut flush honestly. In Indiana or Michigan it's an easy fold. In places where people play dumb like Texas or Florida it's a call. I've scratched my head a few times when I've played in these states because people do shit that doesn't make sense like jamming w AA and going all in w QJ.
What the hell was Mike doing calling the all in? He only beats a bluff. Did he really think she bluffed with a hand that doesn't beat jacks, with 2 others behind her? It's not like he thought she was bluffing and he raised to get her to fold.
