I like this. A good all round review including what it can do at sea and all options explained. Not just opening cupboards and showing how the furniture can fly across the saloon in portland race.

Brilliant boat. The fact they hold their price so well on the used market says a lot. Great tour, all the information required to make an informed decision.

Dave I really enjoyed your very comprehensive look at the Botnia Targa 25.
As an ex Botnia Targa 30 owner, I can vouch for their build quality, versatility and ease of handling singlehanded.
David Adams and Wessex Marine are great too of course.
I would never have one without the flybridge which gives a major extra element of visibility and wind in your hair.
And I don't fancy the fuel costs and limited range of the outboards, to say nothing of the fuel barges and docks that only stock diesel.
The boats never go out of fashion, so there is no need to buy one especially new, better an older model under £100k.
I sold my one to a Dane, who promptly drove it all the way back to Denmark single handed from Poole, which just shows how amazing these boats are !
Thank you again, a really excellent video.

Can I ask (on behalf of everyone) why you sold it and intriguingly what did you replace it with?

Hi Phil, I moved inland and was too far from the sea, so I bought a 30' Dutch steel cruiser which has been great too.

I was impressed with the boat's fore deck, walk arounds, power options, heads compartment, and performance features, then the pilot house was packed with great features....and then a cabin with two berths and more stowage? Sign me up, what a versatile boat!

A diesel 25 is on the next berth to us in La Rochelle. The owner mostly uses it as a day boat but sometimes overnight fishing trips are done. BTW, annual berthing rate is circa € 2000 inc water & electricity.

Great boat review. I will try to tell you this. The Albemarle 25 which is formerly known as the Carolina classic 25 is the best built, heavy duty, best riding 25 foot boat that money can buy, bar none.

@@darthkek1953 aahhhh the old skooler who believes the bucket and chuck it method makes you a hardier seafarer…
All it does is destroy any family usage whatsoever. The world has moved on and the expectancy of essential fittings now, amazingly, includes a downstairs toilet!
Before you hasten to defend may I remind you that I come from an era where you could buy a heated rear window filament for your MkII Cortina and that was considered an almost unnecessary upgrade. Now fitted as standard across the range…..

@@PhilbyFavourites Outside toilet is great. Beats spills, smell and moisture inside. Toilet almost AT the head of your dining table, bothers me more (55 footers do have their advantages....) But for typical dayboat use; fishing, swimming, diving or boozing it up in the cockpit; keeping wet and grimy crew from trampling through the interior to use the facilities, it's fantastic.
