They carry flat on your belt, and that aids concealability. That's what the advantage is supposed to be. So do speed strips, but you can only load two cartridges at a time with those, whereas this is nearly as quick as a conventional speed loader.

Truth is that once you get good at the WL it's as fast as any other Loaders. I'd say with it's easy availability from your belt it complicates things less than the one bouncing around in your pocket or in some snap closed case.

Speaking from experience..... It fails less than speed strips (slow strips) and less than twist top loaders as well. The ultimate IMO is the SL Variant but they share the same problem as most other speed loaders.....Bulky and obnoxious to carry (except for the 5 round ones)

As someone who has shot a revolver or two, this doesn't seem any better than using a speed loader or clip. At best, it seems equally as effective.

    • @edcgearguy4982

Its not necessarily faster if thats what you mean.... BUT.... You can carry your ammo flat against your body so you dont print for the world to see.....Thats the advantage.

Yeah, no. Too fiddly, and I really don't like the idea of yanking it off and putting stress on the crane.

Puts extra stress on the cylinder crane, and the device itself will wear out and get more sloppy over time. Neat idea, though.

As with anything, I'm sure these take practice to use. I sometimes use a speed loader but they can be bulky to just drop in a pocket, and mine sometimes wants to bind up against my snub's rubber grip, so I usually just carry speed strips. This item looks like an attempt to combine the best of both worlds, and might actually be great for those that only carry a revolver and will always carry this in that little belt case. I carry strips because I KNOW I'll carry them over a bulky speedloader.

Assuming you are not carrying your revolver to shoot pieces of paper at a range, you load a revolver with your Right Hand, not your left. Your left hand 2 middle fingers go through the yoke of the frame and around the cylinder to stabilize the cylinder. Chasing the cylinder in a circle is a bad deal in a firefight.
Unless you are Jerry Miculek and trying to set a world record when safe at a range shooting more paper, it is important to have your weapon stable.
I may buy one and see how it works out, as it would be nice to have a better concealable set of reloads.

@@jusztinnemeti6380 , actually they have some very nice single pouches. A loose unbuttoned, front button shirt would conceal it. That's what I do when checking cattle in different fields, do breakfast out etc and carry my old issued M68 6" I got when my dept went to .40s.
I doubt I'll even buy one to play with.

    • @SRVNORMANDY

You do know there is more than one way to load a revolver, right? And I'm sure even though he only shoots at paper, Jerry could probably put two cylinders of ammo in you before you could even clear your holster.

    • @FirstLast-hs4gw

@@SRVNORMANDY , in combat shooting, no one is going to argue, there is anything other than one way to load a revolver. Jerry is very accomplished. Overall, the thing about Jerry is, he is King at winning static matches. He is not infallible and has not won every match he was in.
What else about Jerry? He's never been in a firefight.
Things get real when someone is shooting at you. You obviously don't know about this either.
You are not going to stand in one spot, at a range, in front of a piece of paper, stationary and reload your revolver. Jerry has that luxury, 100% of the time.

@@SRVNORMANDY , a better thing for you, would be not to get on a topic you are ill suited to speak on. Perhaps?
I started shooting at age 4yo in 1964, Iver Johnson Scout. 1965 stared loading/reloading it myself. 1968 NRA small bore competition. 1970 Black Powder Revolver shoots, reloading with BP Cylinders. 1971 1911 combat competitions at 11yo in the adult section and never again shot in the youth levels. 1974 Trap shooting taking my state's handicap 1974 league individual championship, again in the adult league at 14yo. Long range rifle with a rifle I built under supervision of Ernie Koenig in Wyoming. 1977 into The Corps. 1979 Reserve Deputy in my home county 20hrs. a month, when not deployed, mostly to shoot on their PPC team. 1980 upon ending my enlistment, became a regular deputy. 1st revolver on duty event in a single man car. Perpetrator surrendered from behind a steel door after 6 shot engagement, yes I had to reload. 15 minutes for 1st backup to arrive.
1981 into my state's highway patrol Issued my S&W M68 6" was allowed to purchase for $100 when dept. went to .40s. 1982 POST Firearm Inst. Certification. Started as Ass't Rangemaster and served throughout my 34 yrs in LE as an ass't to the dept's full time rangemaster. 1986 my 2nd sidearm event, hopefully my last, stopping a red light violator, unaware he just M'd his GF. As a motor officer there's no where to run to so it all happens at the door. I'm here, he isn't. His round went through his left A/C vent when my single fired round very obviously ended the conflict. No I didn't have to reload my M68.
No I'm no Jerry Miculek and he'd easily outshoot me on a range.
So, I have been loading revolver's since 1965. So go ahead and list the "Old School law enforcement guys," you are writing of. I only started loading full size revolvers with speed loaders in 1973 with a Dade Products Speed loader. So I'll be interested who this "Old School Law Enforcement" group of guys is that loaded longer than I've been doing it and just how they suggest this be accomplished. I'd like you to teach me, since you seem to know far more than I ever could and I'm certainly not "Old School Law Enforcement," having only started just recently in 1978 as a LE Officer.
