I was the same way until I was kind of forced to sit and watch Tremors 2 with a bunch of friends. I was kind of mulling at first, "grbrr Kevin Bacon's not in it, grmblrr", but when it got going - especially after Burt's entrance - _it was a whole new ballgame._

Wait, you're telling me after 5 movies set in a hot environment, Tremors 6's hook is being set in a cold environment? Are we sure this isn't Scorcher with Tugg Speedman?
It was a great hook, but the hook was all they had. There are two versions of the graboid we see: the graboid and the assblaster, just like in Tremors 5. And they are the exact same design of graboid and assblaster that we see in Tremors 5 as well. And it's shot on the exact same location as Tremors 5, so why pretend it's somewhere cold, especially when they can't make it the least bit convincing? Why not just admit that they're still in Africa? It's the only movie in the franchise I don't like, because it is so phenomenally lazy and uninspired.

Anyways I saw the rest as they came out but 5-7 is a lot worse than the first four. Seven is better than 5-6 until they end it like that. I cried for hours. Fuck the ending of Tremors 7. Single handedly lessoned it's ranking. Also I hate the part in six where Burt gets sick from something that happened over a decade before.

Seems this is somewhat along the lines of Wrong Turn. A great first outing - and afterwards it never managed to get to that level but for some reason every entry (at least for me) was just plain fun. I am skipping the TV show though. Zero interest in that.
The only instalment I downright disliked in the Tremors franchise is Cold Day in Hell. This is the first - and only - movie to bring nothing new to the table. Ok, so Burt was infected with a virus/parasite. But there was no new iteration of the graboid, it was the exact same graboid and assblaster as in Bloodlines, and that's something that irritates me to no end. Because if you're going to keep the African graboid, and you're filming in South Africa, why not keep the setting in Africa? There was nothing in Cold Day in Hell which ever convinced me they were in an arctic region. An arctic graboid would have been fantastic, and there is so much potential there (not least infrared detection being a lot more effective). The "arctic" setting and the virus were the only novel things. The former was completely botched, and the latter simply not all that interesting. So I'd be much happier if this movie simply didn't exist. I really liked both Tremors 4 and 5 - Legend Begins was a great origin story, especially for Burt (the end scene before the credits where you see him turning into Burt is priceless). Bloodlines was just what I hoped it would be, when I found out "there's a new Tremors movie?" Not a reboot, not a re-imagination, just a booster shot which didn't try to be more than it was. Both 4 and 5 brought new iterations of graboids, and the rest was paint-by-numbers. That's where 6 went wrong, because it was nothing _but_ paint by numbers - with some re-coloured sand at the beginning in a vain attempt to trick the audience that at least _something_ was new. Tremors 3 was ok - but those ass-blasters remained an unexploited potential. They score only a single kill - and that's by causing the character in question to fall off a cliff. We have to wait for the series to see how dangerous they actually are. I loved the last movie except for... well, you know what. The reason I didn't like _that_ bit is because there was no call for it. Michael Gross didn't ask for it, and in fact was quite perturbed when the filmmakers presented him with the idea. Michael told them fine, but at least do it in an ambiguous way - though it didn't seem all that ambiguous. And there was no fanfare about it, either. I tally the movies differently (in particular I rate the 2nd movie as 2nd best), but this was a really good review.
Brah, if you ever do wanna come out to the Dessert let me know - I have a line on a great one bedroom apt for rent cheap via our apt complex. Just don't come to phoenix in the Summer. BTW I mean for vacation that rental is just a temp rental for visiting guests.

Don't skip it. It's so amazing. It's just different. I find some of the episodes as rewatchable as the first movie.
