Boss is the ultimate clean-up specialist. Anything that gets by the digging dogs does NOT get by Boss. He always gets his rat, and it's a thing of beauty to watch. Tactical thinking personified.
Whoever’s filming did a fantastic job! Not knowing where the rats were going to jump out and run in every direction yet still capturing the footage was brilliant.
I'd like to see an "end of day" video where the dogs get checked over and crash after a well earned rest. I know you have a regimen where you check for wounds, etc. Those dogs absolutely love what they do.

Bindi putting the rat in the bucket is everything! Boss is an incredible mix too - you can see every breed in him at some point or another. the pitbulls powerful muscles, the greyhounds speed and the whippets quick on the spot turning. I'm always impressed some more by Leroy with each video. He's improving so fast. I mean that now, he even emulates Boss more and more by crunching on a rat once to finish it off quick and go onto the next because the critters are flooding them right and left. Leia and Gypsy and killing machines but they still tend to be obsessive over their catch and dead rats.
I mean most of the recent videos the camera man has had to stop Boss from full on swallowing rats at least once. Dogs are animals and even the best trained have impulses that get the best of them sometimes.
Leah just doesn’t like getting bite so she tends to throw it till she can get a good bite. Leroy has definitely stepped up his game huge over the last few months joe needs to do a 1st ratting and now comparison.
@@bluecollaroutlaws6281 Just the first day ratting on the farm, Leroy didn't know the ratting "etiquette" within a team and you could see how possessive he was of each rat he caught. That's the behavior I still see from Leia and Gypsy. Yet even in the second video, Leroy was learning fast where to position himself and letting go less reluctantly of the rats he killed at the command of a human. He was still a tad possessive of his kills for a few more videos. Now, he crunches then drops them, even without a human giving him the order, to go onto the next rat. That's the behavior we are used to, from Boss. Kill crunch, drop, next target, kill crunch, drop, etc.
Boss' breed mix is such a killer combo. The agility, speed and hunt awareness of the hounds and the killer jaws of a pit bull. This is why he is the GOAT.

I love how (lately?) you’ve always got to watch and make sure Boss doesn’t up and swallow one of his catches. You can almost hear that greyhound brain thinking, “What? I caught it, I just wanted a snack while I’m workin’.” I’m guessing he’s not allowed to eat them because 1) it would be a very bad habit once it got started and probably influence the other dogs too 2) takes away focus from the job at hand 3) potential illness for Boss. Am I correct that illness is a lesser concern than the formation of bad habits? Is there a risk of Boss getting sick from a farm rat?
Him eating while working is a HUGE risk to his life. If he eats or has a full belly while running around and doing what he does on a job it could lead him to develop "bloat," or gastric dilatation-volvulus. It is when his stomach and intestines twist and it can only be fixed by immediate surgery. In a lot of the places we work we are a few to a couple hours away from hospitals and veterinarians. It is incredibly dangerous because we might not make it in time to correct it. Which is why we do not like them eating the rats!

As a city kid I can't stand 10 rats in one place let alone 200+ they can cause alot of damage so I appreciate this
love your vids Joe and i think I've watched them all. I just wanted to recommend a wind curtain or blocker for your camera mic. Great work, keep it up.
Those dogs look so 😊 happy.
These are some damn fine dogs. Well done.
It has to be frustrating to know, that if the condition don't change. The Rats just will repopulate the place.
But good for you, it will ensure a second row of videos.
I said it in another way but I couldn't agree more.
Those guys should have cleaned up the place before hiring Joe. Give them a year or two, and they will reach the same population as before. That mess is the perfect habitat for them.
Good opportunity for recurring videos, ratting on the landfill like Sisyphus
It will take time. That pheasant farm is still rat free after Joseph's and the dogs did their job and it's been what, two years or so.
at least he have a stabile job
Little Gypsy is so ferocious and is like a spoiled child wanting to interfere with the other dogs and trying to take their catch from them it so funny to see and then to hear Joe scolding her but she is soon back to her old self she is totally focused on the job and is a pocket killing machine ❤
Amazing how many rats there were, especially after removing over 500 the day before.
“Your order sir” 😂😂 the rat twitching on the “platter”🤣
I totally enjoy your videos! Seem them all.
I just worry sometimes when your moving heavy objects , one of the dogs will get hurt.
Seems there is another of these sessions on the Suffolk and Norfolk Rat Pack Channel for those who want another helping.
First time I have seen this Pit / Greyhound mix lurcher in action. Boss is very impressive.
LEROYYY MMJENKINS... its so fitting. I had a good laugh
