I'm 75 years old, I've watched your channel for about 3 years now, I live in the UK, when I was about 5 or 6 years old I remember a rat catcher coming to the farm that I used to earn pocket money on, the dogs and ferrets that he used are exactly the the same as you are doing now, you can't improve on perfection, love the way your children are learning the craft.
It’s lovely seeing Olive both spending time with her dad; and trying her best in doing something while having fun with a family “business”. Great to hear her excitement and pride when the dogs catch something. :) The dogs are wonderful at what they do.
Hey Joe, it still breaks my heart to hear that Boss passed, same feeling with Sherni way back when, but its AMAZING to see Bindi, Leia, Gypsy and Tag carrying on the legacy of the Mink and Dog squad. Always cool to watch! Cheers Joe Carter family!
Teacher asks the Carter girls, "What did you do this weekend?" "Oh, we went ratting with the mink and dogs." Great video, good to see the family working together.
@@ProfessionalNamielleLewder69 I took a coupe of city children for a walk with my dogs. When my lurcher killed a rabbit they were both upset. I explained that the bare patches on the wheat field were where the rabbits had eaten it and if the rabbits weren’t killed then they would have no bread on their table. Next time the dog went after a rabbit they were both calling out "Get it Kip, get it."
@@Foxhunter49 That's nature. Some animals and plants disrupt the balance of a local ecosystem, so it decides to make predators specifically to deal with it. This is also why hunting deer is okay in some areas, since they overgraze and destroy the local plant life, especially in areas where predators are scarce.
Nature is cruel, a lot of animals die slow miserable deaths, this is quick and humane. Left to populate vermin will spread disease and eventually cause starvation situations for animals and humans alike. That is miserable for both!
Olive is as fearless as her dad , and a brilliant asit to the team , Bindi is a amazing dog and Tag is coming along well, excellent work as always everyone
Every time I see ore hear Sherlock I have to giggle a bit. In my mind I hear him say "Look Carter, what have we here. Oh, a clue!" and then he's zooming off. 😊
My compliments to how you are raising you girls...Strong and independent, unafraid of the silly little annoyances of life, like dirt, bad smells and dead little critter bodies!!
its with great enthusiasm to see your pets having almost 0% fat. unlike the huge youtube videos i seen owners displaying their un-impressive pets just lazing about
Boss might have gone on to the great hunting grounds beyond, but he taught his protegee well. Bindi carries his torch now, and will teach other packmates yet to come, the ways of the _intelligent_ ratter~
Another heart pounding video full of rat catching. The dogs are exciting to watch but Olive is a trooper!. The girls added a whole new dimension. Maggie did a great job of keeping up with all the fast action.
I swear the mink and dogs have a secret language that they're using to know that they're not the prey. HAHA. 22:46 Sherlock is staring Gypsy down; that 0.1 second communicating "Bite me and you're dead" telling he's not a rat. Psychic! It's amazing how they know!
It’s amazing what you have done with the dogs and the minks and so glad you are proving to people they are worth more than just their fur!! It amazes me how young your precious girls are and are right in the middle of it all!!! They will be strong independent women and will not take any junk off of anyone and they have you and their mom to thank for the awesome upbringing !! ❤❤
I have been so busy for awhile i am sad to learn that boss is gone! He was an amazing ratter. Glad to see your new lil puppy (from last i saw her tiny) has grown to be an amazing ratter
The girls squealing added to the excitement for the dogs I believe. I really miss Sherni and Boss but Bindi is super reliable. The small dogs keep getting better and better. It's so entertaining to see a new dog figure things out. The Drathaar finally caught a rat and left with it. That was hilarious!
I love seeing Olive get right in there and help, that's awesome. I'm from Boston Mass and you wouldn't see any little girl her age from here that's not scared of a rat that's for sure. God bless her pure little heart.
I've watched this channel for a very long time, and even though I haven't been on here for about one-two years I still remember when Olive was so tiny. You have a wonderful little family. Time moves so quickly, I'd love to do what you do one day. I got a new dog a year ago, kind of wish I spent a lot more time working with her, she has a great drive with so much energy.
Awesome content Joe, always excited when I get a notification from you :) Bindi is doing such an awesome job, filling the void that Boss left behind. And it's really awesome to see Tag doing some work as well! Keep it up!
Was gonna wait till Fri to watch this , but I just had to watch. I'm glad Bindi is filling Boss's shoes i guess she was watching and learning. RIP Big Boss🎈
Bindi truly had perfect timing for you guys- any later and she may not have learned from Boss as she did- which I do believe has been done. Dogs can learn from each other and for smart ones like Bindi it probably only took her once or twice seeing Boss switch targets to know that was most effective. I hope in the future you get another dog, earlier on, so you have 2 dynamite dogs in their prime.
You have beautiful daughters I have not seen your wife but she must be just as beautiful because your daughters are so cute and adorable and beautiful I love how the girls helping you it is so wonderful to watch your dogs are awesome awesome too and let's not forget about the mink I think it is great how you are rescuing them from fur farms
Olive was such a help on this job! and little Galilee - oh my goodness!! She wants to get right in the thick of things! What a joy they are! And let's not forget mom Maggie, right there keeping one eye on the camera and the other on her dear daughters! Sherlock did really well on this hunt, and congratulations to Tag on her first rat! One more ratting and this coop area will be rat-free. Thanks for posting, Joe!
That crate that Olive was rolling looked like the old ones they used to put dynamite it. not enough marking on the outside though, just a passing resemblance, haha. Just enough to ignite my dad "spidey sense" though. She is getting so big, can't believe how time flies.
I miss boss he was the real mvp and a great leader for these dogs I’m also glad she was able to learn from THE BOSS these dogs had a great leader and hopefully bindi fills in
"It's the owner, not the dog," my foot. Bindi wouldn't slam head-first into walls chasing rats if she didn't have the drive. An owner might be able to focus that drive but can't fundamentally change the dog.
It's both, but people are in such denial that pits and pit mixes could have high prey drives and possible aggression that they don't bother meeting halfway with their pups. That's why I hate animal channels like The Dodo that paint these dogs in an angelic "could do no wrong" light. It IS the dogs because it is genetic (be it poor breeding or natural prey drive), but good training can always curb that instinct into something manageable or at least something better understood. You just have to do the work, and being in denial that your dog couldn't possibly be like those other ones is how you get a dog killed. EDIT: Forgot to make this clear for anyone that comes by and sees this comment. They're not bad dogs just like you wouldn't call a cat bad for being a cat. They're just a dog being a dog.
I’ve been watching you for about 4 years now but haven’t watched any videos for a few months now my heart broke when you said boss is gone. RIP Sherni, Boon, and Boss 🙏
Whilst I hate the idea of rat killing, it’s a necessary evil. Using dogs and mink are a very “green” way of controlling vermin. No poison, no traps. It’s really the safest way to get rid of the pests. Also, rats are smart. If you give them enough of a shock and fright, they will move on and away. I also just love the relationship between dog and owner. These are happy dogs, doing what they love and doing it safely. The fact there are children about and they are quite safe, shows how well trained both the dogs and the mink are.
Imagine how bullet-proof the girls' immune systems will be...Growing up helping Dad, getting their hands dirty, I bet they never have so much as a cold as adults for more than a few hours 💪
I fell behind on UA-cam, and didn’t even realize that was your girls at first, man they’ve gotten tall. Wish you guys all the best, thanks for another interesting video, take care. 🙏🏻🇺🇸

Amazing to see that some people are still raising daughters the right way. They can hunt, play in the dirt, and do whatever they want without being labeled a boy. Awesome!
Really wish we could do this in California… I’ve got savvy rats that won’t take bait or traps for anything. Dogs see best with their noses… that’s why they know that it’s a mink not a rat. Not the same smell at all.
