    Wow; such extensive rust! Incredible how time, use and exposure to the elements can punish a car. This is a labor of love. Awesome job!

      Rust is horrible. Rust is my enemy. I will fight it till it’s gone. At least on this one. Thanks

      Thanks, its nice that you shared your video because it helped me to have more confidence in doing my car. Talking to you at the swap meet encouraged me a lot

      @@ATfabNfix64 The hours and hours spent is very misleading with the video. So much cleaning and prep before you can even cut off a panel. Then creating all the bits and pieces to make the panel, then finishing the panel for a seamless repair. A true craftsman!!

      You need the heart of a lion to take on a restoration like this. (And, preferably, the bank account of a Greek shipping magnate). Great skills and best wishes for the rest of the work.

    Really amazing! Your skill level must be up there with the original builders. Great use of flexible shap patterns. (Wray thx).

    • @ATfabNfix64
      @ATfabNfix64  Рік тому +4

      Thanks, The flexible patterns work amazing. Learn it by doing upholstery. Pro shaper has you tube videos that uses the same system. He explains it very well. Makes things easier to mirror panels and take the guess work out of it.

    Absolutely fascinating!What is the function of the clear plastic? Asking for a friend 😬

    • @ATfabNfix64
      @ATfabNfix64  Рік тому +4

      It’s for the rust removal process. It keeps the fluid wet so it can dissolve the rust and work longer. I going to have a video soon to explain it better
      Thanks

    I WOULD HAVE BLASTED OR DIPPED IT BEFORE I STARTED. IVE FOUND ON MY PROJECTS IT WORKS BETTER AND MAKE THE JOB FASTER. U MUST LIKE THE PIECE WORK. I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT A NEW TUB INSTEAD. LOL BUT NICE WORK.

      Blasting has its place which I have done many times before. Didn’t want to destroy it with that. No matter what media. Electrolysis really helped preserve the metal without removing too much metal causing it to weaken. Which would have cut more metal out. Unfortunately the dipper I used before is gone now.
